Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 189: Why Didn’t Use Hemostatic Medicine
CHAPTER 189: CHAPTER 189: WHY DIDN’T USE HEMOSTATIC MEDICINE
The next day, Li Yifan accompanied a man in his 50s, who looked like a leader, to visit Ye Hao.
There was another person following behind them.
The Ye Family’s parents were all arranged to undergo full-body check-ups.
So in the ward, there were only Gu Yi and Ye Hao.
Gu Yi quickly poured water for the three of them.
"Hello, Leader."
When Ye Hao saw the visitor, he hurried to get up from the bed.
"Alright, don’t move. You’ve suffered such a severe injury, why bother with these formalities? I’m just here to check on you, can’t let your injury worsen."
The visitor promptly stopped Ye Hao, smiling as he spoke.
It was then that Gu Yi realized it was Ye Hao’s leader who had come.
"Have some water."
She handed the water to the leader.
"You’re Comrade Little Gu, right? You’ve worked hard during this period."
The leader took the water from Gu Yi, saying warmly.
"No, as long as he’s okay, it’s fine."
Gu Yi said, glancing at Ye Hao.
Listening to Gu Yi’s words, Ye Hao felt warm inside, but he wasn’t sure if Gu Yi was speaking sincerely or just saying it in front of his leader on purpose.
He lifted his eyes and happened to see Gu Yi looking at him, and quickly averted his gaze.
The leader listened and nodded approvingly, speaking to Ye Hao.
"You’re a lucky fellow to have such a wife as Little Gu."
Ye Hao listened expressionlessly and didn’t respond.
The leader didn’t mind and continued speaking.
"This mission was completed well, and the soldiers present reported the situation to the unit. We know that you got injured while saving someone, so it’s already been decided that once you’re healed, you will receive a reward — hang in there."
After hearing the leader, Ye Hao knew what the reward was.
Apparently, Li Yifan had also talked to him about this issue.
He didn’t show much joy but just nodded.
"Thank you, Leader."
"Alright, I won’t disturb your rest any longer. Don’t think about anything now, focus on healing. We await your return."
After finishing, the leader stood up, greeted Gu Yi, and then left the ward.
Gu Yi escorted them to the door.
She saw Li Yifan say something to the leader, and the leader left after nodding.
Li Yifan turned back to Ye Hao’s ward.
"You heard what my uncle just said, right? Focus on healing."
Ye Hao already knew about his family’s connections, so Li Yifan spoke directly.
Gu Yi then realized that the leader was Li Yifan’s uncle.
Ye Hao didn’t respond to Li Yifan, but kept staring at Gu Yi.
Gu Yi felt inexplicably confused by Ye Hao’s gaze.
After reminding him again, Li Yifan got up to leave.
He signaled for Gu Yi to join him outside for a moment.
After leaving the ward.
"Ye Hao seems especially unhappy today. Haven’t you resolved the issues between you two?"
Last time, Li Yifan heard Ye Hao talking about wanting a divorce, but later, seeing how concerned he was about Gu Yi, he thought Ye Hao was just speaking impulsively.
But today, even after his uncle said what he did, it seemed Ye Hao didn’t care much.
And his attitude towards Gu Yi today also seemed strange.
Gu Yi sighed after hearing this.
"I went to see the doctor that day; he said Ye Hao might have memory confusion after his shock. He seems to have a grudge against me now, but the doctor also advised patience, suggested we take him to places we have good memories together — he might remember soon."
Hearing this, Li Yifan understood why Ye Hao was acting so strangely towards Gu Yi.
But there was something he couldn’t fathom.
"Why is it only the memory about you that’s confused? He still treats us the same as before?"
Gu Yi could only smile wryly at this.
This was something she also wanted to know.
"But you shouldn’t worry too much. I believe Ye Hao will remember soon. He’s very capable in all areas; he won’t be an exception here. It’s just that it might be hard on you for a while."
Li Yifan could only pray, "Brother, don’t take things too far."
Gu Yi returned to the ward and sat beside Ye Hao.
"From what the leader said, you got injured saving someone. Can you tell me what happened?"
Gu Yi looked curiously at Ye Hao.
Initially, Ye Hao didn’t want to tell her, but looking at Gu Yi smiling...
"It’s just that when we caught the criminal mastermind and were about to return, a little boy somehow ran into the area of our operation. Suddenly, a pretending-to-be-dead criminal lifted a gun to shoot at the boy. Things happened too fast, and I was the closest, so I ran to save the boy when the person pointed the gun at me. I think now that his target was me, and he aimed at the boy just to distract me."
Even though Ye Hao described it simply, Gu Yi could imagine the peril at the moment.
Gu Yi knew saving people was Ye Hao’s duty, but she also had some grievances in her heart. Had Ye Hao thought about her when he went to save the boy? What if something happened to him — what would she do?
"What about the hemostatic medicine I prepared for you? Why didn’t it get used? Otherwise, it wouldn’t have led to hypovolemic shock."
Gu Yi suddenly remembered; the doctor came out of the operating room that day and asked why the hemostatic medicine wasn’t used from the start; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so serious.
She had been in shock at the time and hadn’t thought of it.
Hearing Ye Hao talk today reminded her that she had prepared those.
Ye Hao was also a bit stunned at this.
He looked at Gu Yi, thinking she had thought of preparing those for him.
Now his backpack was missing too; she could say anything.
Ye Hao thought Gu Yi was saying this on purpose, just to gain favor in front of him.
But why was she doing this now?
Could it be because of the reward mentioned earlier by the leader?
Earlier, the leader was Li Yitian’s father; if she were with Li Yitian, the benefits would be greater than being with him.
Ye Hao suddenly remembered, when the leader came in earlier, it looked like Gu Yi didn’t recognize him. This meant Gu Yi didn’t know about Li Yitian’s background yet.
It seemed that Li Yitian wasn’t sincere with Gu Yi either, since he hadn’t revealed such facts.
For some reason, Ye Hao suddenly felt some pity for Gu Yi.
After the Ye Family’s parents finished their check-ups, the two of them processed the discharge procedures in the afternoon.
In the following days, Ye Qian was running the shop, and Ye Fu was also helping at the shop.
After closing, they came to check on Ye Hao.
Ye’s mother was responsible for everyone’s meals, especially Ye Hao’s. She had to cook soup and bring it to the hospital every day.
Time went by quickly, and it was already Monday, and tomorrow Gu Yi had to go back to school for exams.
"Mom, I need to go back to school for the final exams tomorrow. Can you come and stay with Ye Hao during the day?"
After Ye’s mother arrived, Gu Yi mentioned her exams.
"Of course, your exams are important. Why don’t you go home and sleep tonight? I’ll stay here with Hao Hao so that you’ll be well-rested for tomorrow’s exams."
Ye’s mother readily agreed.
