Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 196: Outbreak
CHAPTER 196: CHAPTER 196: OUTBREAK
"Ye Hao, have you come to pick me up? Let’s go home."
Gu Yi saw Li Yitian’s car drive away and smiled as she stepped forward to hold Ye Hao’s hand.
"Yeah, if I didn’t come to pick you up, could I have seen what you’ve been doing behind my back?"
Ye Hao withdrew his hand.
He spoke with a mocking tone.
"I don’t want to fight. Whatever it is, let’s talk about it at home."
Gu Yi said, then headed home first.
Only then did Ye Hao notice that Gu Yi had changed her dress and tidied up her hair.
To be honest, she looked quite beautiful.
Ye Hao was startled by his own thoughts. Shouldn’t he be angry? How could he still be in the mood to admire Gu Yi’s outfit?
He followed Gu Yi back home.
"What have I done behind your back?"
Gu Yi felt Ye Hao’s memory was messed up, so she didn’t blame him, but his recent temper had been inexplicable. So as soon as Ye Hao walked in the door, she directly asked him.
"It was Li Yitian who came to pick you up this morning too, right? You even ran up to the car as if afraid I’d see. If you weren’t guilty, would you act like a thief?"
As soon as Gu Yi heard this, she realized that Ye Hao had seen her getting into Li Yitian’s car this morning.
No wonder his words were so irritating.
"I had Yitian pick me up because I didn’t want to make you angry, isn’t that obvious?"
Gu Yi had a "you know why" expression on her face.
"Why would you be afraid of making me angry?"
Ye Hao felt that Gu Yi was acting guilty, that’s why.
"Because the moment you see Li Yitian, you’re like a fighting rooster. If you knew he came to pick me up, could I even leave the house?"
"And what kind of attitude do you think I should have towards him?"
Ye Hao’s anger surged at the sight of Gu Yi’s innocent face.
It was she and Li Yitian who did wrong. Did he not even have the right to be angry?
"He’s my friend. If you still acknowledge me as your wife, you should at least have a better attitude towards him. That’s respecting him, and respecting me."
Gu Yi was also losing control of her temper.
"Did he respect me? Why should I respect him? Do you still remember you’re my wife? Have you done what a wife should do?"
Gu Yi getting fierce made Ye Hao unable to control his anger.
Respect is mutual. These two had done shameful things behind his back, and now they wanted his respect.
He thought that if Gu Yi severed ties with Li Yitian, he would act as if nothing happened.
But they showed no restraint.
Gu Yi still acted so self-righteous in front of him.
"As your wife, what should I be doing that I haven’t?"
Fine, since it’s come to this, Gu Yi also wanted to know what Ye Hao had been thinking of her all along.
"Let’s not even talk about being frugal and managing the household. Have you adhered to the most basic virtue of fidelity?"
Ye Hao wasn’t holding back anymore; today he was going to lay it all out.
No more tiring guessing games.
"You’re saying I’m unfaithful? Then why don’t you tell me today, how exactly am I unfaithful."
Gu Yi was almost amused by Ye Hao’s audacity.
"Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing behind my back. I’m too embarrassed to even say it. If mom and dad hadn’t stopped me, I’d have divorced you long ago; you wouldn’t be standing here arguing with me."
After Ye Hao finished, Gu Yi looked at him expressionlessly.
He suddenly found it unsettling.
During this period since he woke up, Gu Yi had always been especially gentle towards him.
When they were together, she paid particular attention to details.
All just to make him feel more comfortable.
Gu Yi just quietly looked at him, like watching a child throwing a tantrum, or a child letting someone down.
Ye Hao’s heart suddenly tightened.
The conversation just took a turn.
"Alright, I got it."
Gu Yi found a chair to sit on and said after a long pause.
"Have dinner at home tonight. I’ll come back after eating."
Ye Hao watched Gu Yi sitting there in a daze, unsure what to say to her.
He was afraid she might pick up the thread of their earlier conversation and tell him she wanted a divorce.
Ye Hao found an excuse to leave.
"Ye, why are you here?"
Ye Hao bumped into Li Jianjun shortly after coming out.
"Nothing. Do you have some time now?"
Seeing it was him, and their relationship was usually pretty good, Ye Hao asked him.
"Yeah, do you need help with something?"
Li Jianjun thought perhaps Ye Hao’s leg was bothering him and he wanted help with something.
"No, just accompany me for a drink."
Ye Hao spoke as he felt restless inside, looking at Li Jianjun.
"Ye, you haven’t healed completely, can you drink?"
Li Jianjun wasn’t worried about having a drink, but he was concerned whether Ye Liang’s leg was well enough for drinking.
"Drinking is just about whether you want to or not, not whether you can. Relax, the leg’s okay now, let’s go."
Ye Hao finished speaking and led the way out.
Since Ye Hao said so himself, Li Jianjun didn’t want to ruin his mood.
He had heard Ye Hao sighing when approaching earlier.
He thought maybe Ye Hao was feeling down because of his leg injury.
The two of them went to a small restaurant outside the military compound.
After ordering a few dishes, Ye Hao asked the owner for two bottles of white liquor.
"Ye, two bottles seem like a lot. Let’s start with one bottle, and if we finish it, we can order more?"
Li Jianjun was a bit taken aback. Although Ye Hao was usually carefree, he was very meticulous when it came to matters of discipline.
"It’s okay, just bring it. We can talk after we finish it."
At this moment, the owner placed glasses and two bottles of white liquor on the table.
Ye Hao immediately opened both bottles.
"Today, we say nothing. We’re not going home until we’re drunk."
Ye Hao urgently needed a release.
To drive away the anxiety in his heart.
He filled both of their glasses to the brim.
Handing a glass to Li Jianjun.
Then raised his own glass, clinking it against Li Jianjun’s.
"Come on, bottoms up."
Then he drank it all in one go.
Li Jianjun couldn’t stop him in time.
"Ye, slow down. The food isn’t even here yet. Let’s wait."
Li Jianjun was shocked by Ye Hao’s demeanor.
Because it wasn’t busy in the shop today, the owner served their dishes particularly quickly.
Just as Li Jianjun finished speaking, the owner brought their ordered cold dishes to the table.
"Here, this glass is to congratulate you. Soon, you’ll be a dad."
When Li Jianjun heard Ye Hao say this, it seemed as if Ye Hao was feeling particularly low.
He guessed it might be because Gu Yi didn’t have a baby yet.
"Thank you, but your wife will soon have one too. Don’t worry too much. Eat something. If you keep drinking like this, you’ll be drunk soon."
Li Jianjun started comforting Ye Hao, quickly pushing some dishes towards him.
Now he could see clearly that Ye Hao was drinking just to get drunk.
"Women, sometimes you just don’t know what they’re thinking. Understanding them is much harder than completing a mission."
Halfway through drinking, Ye Hao suddenly came out with this.
It was as if he was speaking to Li Jianjun, or maybe questioning himself.
Li Jianjun could tell that Ye Hao had probably had a fight with Gu Yi.
Don’t ask him how he knew, he’s been there.
