CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 110: WORDS DEF.

From that day on, Axelius’s time was divided clearly. In the morning, he trained.

After the Grand Duke returned, Axelius boldly requested the Grand Duke for his own private training area. The Duke, who had just sat not more than 5 seconds stared at Axelius like he had lost his mind.

"You already have the whole backyard. Why do you need a separate area again?" the Duke asked, tired.

"Because I want to train seriously. I don’t want anyone watching or bothering me," Axelius replied, standing with arms crossed like he was the one giving orders.

The Duke sighed. "There’s a limit to how spoiled you can be, Axelius. You don’t just ask for personal training grounds like it’s candy."

Axelius didn’t back down. "You gave Cyruz a sword chamber. You gave him private tutors and magic teachers. Me? I want a training ground. It’s not that hard. Just give me one, and I won’t bother you."

The Grand Duke rubbed his temples slowly, like trying to squeeze the headache out of his skull. "I swear, every time you open your mouth, I lose a week of peace..."

"So it’s a yes?"

"Fine. Take the south garden. Put up walls if you want. Just go away," the Duke finally muttered.

"Thanks, Father. I’ll remember this moment as the day I won," Axelius grinned and turned around before the Duke could change his mind.

"You didn’t win," the Grand Duke yelled. "I just surrendered for the sake of my sanity!"

But it was already too late. Axelius was gone, and the south garden was claimed.

In that place, he trained with his three monsters—Crow, the albino Grakel who now wore a metal ring around its foot; Gob, a red-skinned goblin that liked to sleep in holes; and Nyx, the small shadow shadow that rarely came out.

Most beast tamers would struggle to make their monsters sit or even listen to basic commands. But for Axelius, everything was easy. He had a Primal Veil Core, The monsters followed his commands like well-trained dogs, and even acted playful sometimes.

"Sit," he’d say, and Crow would fold its wings.

"Jump," and Gob would bounce like a ball.

"Disappear," and Nyx would melt into the shadows.

Axelius trained them seriously until lunch, then cleaned up and headed to his other domain—his own personal study room.

Unlike the training area, this room had no argument. The Grand Duke already decided that giving Axelius a space to do "his crazy inventions" was better than letting him run around the main house disturbing everyone.

The room was wide, quiet, and filled with everything Axelius needed. Books were stacked neatly on tall shelves, arranged in order from beginner guides to advanced theories on magical machinery. Owen had organized them all and even wrote labels in messy but readable handwriting.

One whole wall was painted white like a giant board, where Axelius could write notes with magic chalk. And right in the middle of that wall, carefully stuck like a prized painting, was the updated and proper drawing of the car—made by Owen himself. It looked much better than Axelius’s shoe-shaped version.

Axelius stood in front of it every day after lunch, tapping his chin and muttering ideas. It became a strange routine. Mornings with monsters. Afternoons with books and chalk. And always, always that same grin on Axelius’s face—like a boy who already saw himself riding down the road in a car made from magic and madness.

_______________

Now, Axelius sat cross-legged on the cold floor. the heavy book spread open on his lap. His finger traced the glowing ink on the old parchment as he read aloud, softly, almost to himself. Trying to learn the words definition book.

"Rune – A symbol inscribed with mana to create magical effects. Simpler than spells, but more stable. Used to store or trigger specific functions like heating, pushing, or binding."

He nodded to himself. "So... if I can draw a ’push’ rune on the back of a wheel... maybe it can roll forward without needing a beast."

He flipped the page.

"Mana Conduit – A path or channel, often carved or etched, that allows mana to flow between runes. Without it, runes don’t activate properly. Materials like silver or mana-threaded wood work best."

"That means wood alone won’t work. I need a conductor. Silver lines... or something that can carry energy..."

Another line caught his eye: "Core Crystal – A charged mana stone placed at the center of a rune circuit. It acts as a power source, releasing stored mana to activate the surrounding runes."

Axelius muttered, "So that’s like... a magical engine." A grin spread across his face. "If I get one of those... maybe I can power a whole cart. No reins. No coachman. Just magic and control."

Next, Axelius took a another book. "Foundations of Rune-Bound Movement, Vol. II"

"Carriagecraft – The art of constructing wheeled transport drawn by tamed beasts. Uses reinforced wood, iron rims, and enchantments to reduce friction or enhance durability."

Another section glowed slightly, titled:

"Magically-Infused Tools – Instruments enhanced by runes or elemental cores. Used by blacksmiths, enchanters, and carriagewrights. Examples include:

Hammer of Balance – Ensures even weight distribution.

Measuring Rod of Precision – Automatically adjusts to blueprint scale.

Mana Screwdriver – Spins on mana flow for rapid construction."

Axelius chuckled to himself. "They really thought of everything... But none of them applied this to movement without beasts."

He paused, scanning the sub-section.

"Rare Tool: Tamer’s Lash – A control whip embedded with obedience runes. Directs beast behavior through pulses of emotion magic. Typically bound to a collar or enchant-seal."

He frowned slightly. "Slaves and leashes... "

"Control Collar – A restrictive device bound with obedience runes. Worn by tamed beasts — typically mounts, haulers, or war beasts. Activated by the master’s mana signature or a bound tool like a Tamer’s Lash."

"Rune Circuitry – A magical equivalent to wiring. Channels mana across a structure to activate enchantments or mechanical movement. Requires clean etching and calibrated flow rate to avoid overload or flickering."

"So this is my ’electric circuit’ system here. It’s not copper wire — it’s more like magic veins. If I etch them wrong, the whole system might just burn out."

"Manasteel – An alloy infused with liquid mana during forging. Light, flexible, and conducts magic efficiently. Common in noble weaponry and rare magical tools."

"Could be used for a lightweight frame or engine housing. Hard to get... but maybe the Duke’s smith can help if I ask as his ’son.’"

"Aether Crystals – Natural mana condensates. When compressed, they release a steady flow of energy. Used as a power source in enchanted tools and defense systems."

"Batteries. I need these. If I find low-grade ones, I can test movement systems without drawing from my own mana."
