Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 74: The Forbidden Second Floor
CHAPTER 74: CHAPTER 74: THE FORBIDDEN SECOND FLOOR
Emma Lewis slammed the book in her hand onto the table.
She placed a foot on the bench, and with a commanding presence, she started cursing directly.
"Is the Elegant Art Academy owned by your family? Does anyone need to check in with you when they come to school? You control everything, even meddling in others’ marriages and divorces, why don’t you mind your father’s affair with a mistress."
The girl who was being confronted turned red with anger. Her father’s affair was already a source of shame for her, and being exposed in public made her furious.
After cursing one person, Emma turned her focus to another: "And you, with your triangular eyes and flat nose, and a face full of pits, you look so mean. How dare you stand in front of Amelia Wright and rant endlessly? Are you trying to use a goddess to highlight your own ugliness?"
The person looked like they were about to cry from the scolding.
Emma’s insults were truly venomous.
Most people couldn’t outcurse her, and even if they did, they couldn’t outfight her...
With her height, Emma overlooked everyone else: "What, feeling wronged after being scolded a couple of times, yet you all surround Amelia and gossip about her? Where’s your dignity!"
The crowd dispersed, not daring to confront Emma.
Ava Wright also turned and left, with a genuine sense of happiness on her face; divorce was a good thing.
Amelia’s divorce meant she was nothing now.
Amelia would become a dog under her feet once again.
She would use Amelia to thoroughly scheme against the Allen family.
Perhaps because she had known since childhood that Amelia was the daughter of the affluent Allen family in Capital City, Ava always felt a sense of superiority when she trampled Amelia.
This mentality had become more twisted as she grew older. If Amelia remained meek forever, it would be fine, but Amelia had undergone some unexpected changes.
Now that everything was back to how it was, no one could be happier than Ava.
After the crowd had dispersed, Emma spat, "A bunch of weaklings who bully the soft and fear the hard."
After cursing, she frowned and looked at Amelia, "You look half-dead, doesn’t seem like you’re fully recovered, what are you doing back at school?"
"I’m fine."
"You’re telling me you’re fine? Do you believe I’ll pack you up and send you home just like that!" Emma lowered her voice with a serious expression, "Also, what’s really going on between you and Godfery...?"
Amelia no longer pretended, and said weakly, "Nothing really, just got divorced."
Emma pulled Amelia outside, to an empty rest area under the teaching building.
She frowned and asked, "What do you mean just divorced? What does Godfery Shaw want, spreading those rumors, not helping you clear things up, and then just saying you’re divorced, what do you think you’re doing?"
Amelia really didn’t want to talk about it. Staying away from Godfery Shaw was good, but everyone around her reminded her of it.
She said tiredly, "This is what I wanted, don’t ask anymore."
In Amelia’s heart, in this life, she would have neither a lover nor friends.
Even though Emma had helped her many times, she didn’t believe her nature would allow her to have friends; it was just a bit more familiar than others.
Emma wanted to ask more, but then suddenly exclaimed, "What happened to your hand?"
Amelia extended her left hand to reveal the dry bandage on her palm, with blood seeping through, sticking to the wound.
Emma’s vein twitched as she quickly went to find the school’s first aid kit, showing signs of anger, "Let me see your hand!"
Amelia paused, then extended her hand.
With a dark expression, Emma carefully soaked the bandage on Amelia’s palm with disinfectant and gently peeled it off, revealing the injury that penetrated through Amelia’s palm.
Her eyes widened in shock.
"Who hurt you!" Emma’s tone was filled with a fierce killing intent.
"I did it myself." Amelia’s expression remained unchanged.
When escaping from a kidnapping, she had painfully pierced her own palm to stab the kidnapper, so it was indeed her own doing.
Emma paused, suddenly feeling like hitting something...
She carefully disinfected Amelia’s wound, unable to resist blowing on it tenderly.
Amelia felt a slight cool breeze amidst the burning dull pain, and saw pure concern in Emma’s eyes filled with emotion.
But she didn’t need concern.
Amelia withdrew her hand, casually saying, "Thank you."
Emma gave Amelia another glare, not wanting to speak with her.
Amelia got up to leave.
Only then did Emma ask, "Where are you going?"
"To pick up the child from school."
Emma’s mouth dropped open, pick up a child from school?
What’s going on? Where did a child come from?
Emma just watched as Amelia walked away, only realizing after she was gone.
Amelia clearly didn’t want to elaborate, so Emma planned to ask Basil Smith.
It would be best to directly ask Godfery Shaw, to fully understand and then find a way to solve the issue.
If it couldn’t be solved, even if it was the Young Master Shaw, she’d find a way to give him a beating to vent for Amelia!
Even though Amelia no longer called him brother, no one could bully such a soft sister!
...
Amelia picked Emily Allen up from school.
The two quietly made dinner and quietly ate, Amelia asking Emily about her time at kindergarten, not thinking about the issues with Godfery Shaw; everything was peaceful and wonderful.
However, many things couldn’t be ignored just because Amelia didn’t pay attention.
The Shaw family announced the divorce.
Immediately following, Godfery Shaw announced an engagement.
The engagement was with Miss Dawson, a perfect match of status and talent.
Just an engagement, but it was much grander than the wedding of the supposed second Young Master Shaw.
The entire Riverwood City was talking about it.
Amelia naturally became the center of discussion, becoming an object of disdain.
Amelia, however, seemed entirely unconcerned, focused on raising her child, transferring the deducted three million to Anna, and then signed up for the national painting exhibition competition.
She didn’t go to the hospital for the injury on her hand or to the Imperial Garden, being knowledgeable in traditional Chinese medicine, capable of creating various harmful drugs, handling this minor injury on her own wasn’t an issue, random bandaging was enough; she didn’t care about scars.
As for Emily’s psychological counseling, she couldn’t go to the hospital, so planned to hire a psychologist to make house calls.
Still needed to earn more money.
How to earn money quickly, saving lives? Racing?
Amelia planned to give it some serious thought.
...
In the Imperial Garden.
Evelyn Dawson was joyfully preparing for the engagement ceremony.
Every day she was as happy as a little bird.
The maids all felt that Miss Dawson was much more approachable than the previous Young Madam.
The previous Young Madam was cold to everyone, with an icy demeanor keeping everyone at a distance. But Miss Dawson greeted everyone with a smile, instantly feeling familiar.
Of course, the attitudes of the butler Joyce and Godfery’s confidants were intriguing.
They were polite to Miss Dawson, but overly polite, creating a sense of detachment instead.
Evelyn quickly became familiar with everyone in the Imperial Garden.
She felt that the Imperial Garden wasn’t as frightening as the outside world said.
In the place of Young Master Shaw in the Imperial Garden, where no outsider was allowed, she could move freely, making her the envy of all women in the circle recently.
But she just couldn’t go upstairs to the second floor.
With her engagement to Young Master Shaw just a week away, and the former second Young Madam having access, peeking shouldn’t be a problem.
Thinking this, Evelyn tiptoed upstairs; with so many rooms on the second floor, she didn’t know which one Young Master Shaw stayed in.
Evelyn randomly picked a direction and walked to a room door, noticing it was ajar. She instinctively peered through the half-open door.
She saw a pink, soft room, lovely and exquisite, much better than the guest room she stayed in downstairs.
Whose room was this, the second Young Madam of the Shaw family?
Could she possibly live on the second floor? And have such a beautiful room?
The room was so beautiful that Evelyn instinctively wanted to enter.
Behind her suddenly came a thundering voice, "What are you doing?"
Evelyn was so frightened that she hurriedly backed away and turned to see it was Godfery Shaw.
She nervously said, "I’m... I saw you went upstairs and didn’t come down for a long time, I was worried... so I came up to check."
"I told you, this engagement is purely in name. I will make sure your family gets what they want, but if you can’t do it, then leave." Godfery told her.
Evelyn, remembering her family’s instructions, panicked and quickly said, "I’m sorry, I can do it, I’ll go downstairs right now."
Although she did not call him brother anymore, he couldn’t stand this soft sister being bullied by anyone!
