Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 94: We’re Already Divorced, Stay Away from Me
CHAPTER 94: CHAPTER 94: WE’RE ALREADY DIVORCED, STAY AWAY FROM ME
As a film queen, Fiona Morgan’s sudden change of demeanor brings a strong sense of oppression.
Anyone without a strong mindset would probably go weak in the knees on the spot.
Yet, Amelia Wright remains lazily seated, exuding an aura of luxury and delicacy. She fears not the pressure from Godfery Shaw, so why would she fear Fiona Morgan.
Amelia’s delicate eyebrows slightly raise as she looks at Hamilton, saying lightly, "Is it you who said I used tactics to threaten you?"
Hamilton is almost at the point of tears, not daring to look at Amelia, shouting at Fiona, "Sis, what are you talking about!"
Fiona observes the atmosphere between the two and sees Hamilton’s obvious fear and panic, makin her gaze even more piercing.
She looks sternly at Hamilton, "Hamilton, I’m your sister, I know what kind of person you are, so tell me, why do you follow her commands? Don’t tell me it’s because you like her?"
"Sis...I..." Hamilton looks conflicted, not knowing where to begin.
Amelia coldly says, "If you can’t say it, I’ll say it for you."
Hamilton lowers his head dejectedly, not daring to refute.
Amelia speaks without any emotion, "Your brother here was gambling his limbs, gambling his life on a racetrack bet!"
Fiona suddenly turns to look at Hamilton, the film queen’s assertiveness shattered by those words.
Amelia continues with a clear cold tone, "Initially, to secure Oliver Wright’s order, I intentionally approached Hamilton and saved him from the racetrack, purely intending to ask for repayment later. Does Miss Morgan think Hamilton’s life isn’t worth you meeting me?"
Amelia explains her intention directly.
Leaving no room for Fiona to misunderstand.
She makes it very clear that she saved Hamilton just to seek gratitude and repayment.
Fiona hears this and is so furious with her brother that her eyes become red with tears.
She ignores her composure in front of Amelia and raises her hand to hit Hamilton.
Hamilton cringes and cowers, pathetically shouting, "Sis! Don’t hit me, Amelia already hit me back then for you. I know I’m wrong, I swear I’ll never gamble again, Amelia said if I dare to do it again, she wouldn’t need you to act, she’d cripple me herself."
Fiona retracts her trembling hand, having only this one brother, her lone family member to rely on.
Spoiled him too much, cultivating this kind of unruly nature, yet no one knows how important this brother is to her, almost a spiritual pillar for her to keep living.
But while she was unaware, her brother nearly died.
Fiona takes a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.
She looks at Amelia and suddenly bows deeply, "Miss Wright, I apologize for my earlier attitude, and thank you for saving Hamilton."
Grateful, Fiona even changes her address to you with Amelia.
Amelia stifles a yawn, calmly saying, "No need to be polite, it’s just mutual benefit, so can we discuss work now?"
Fiona immediately nods, "Of course, I trust your judgment, Miss Wright, you can finalize the draft for this set of custom jewelry."
Amelia shakes her head, "It’s not enough for me to decide alone. Since we took this commission, it has to be jewelry that both you and Miss Wright like and feel is appropriate."
Fiona cooperatively says, "Alright, let me tell Miss Wright about my expectations."
Seeing the tense atmosphere between his sister and Amelia dissipate, Hamilton breathes a sigh of relief.
If his sister really offended Amelia, there’s no saying whether the Shaw family would let him off, and he’d have no one to teach him racing!
As for whether he’d be punished at home, well that’s a matter for when he returns...
With Fiona’s cooperation, Amelia quickly finalized the draft.
After all the details were settled, Amelia escorted Fiona out.
Fiona felt the favor owed to Amelia was immense, something not repayable by an order alone, and before leaving made a bold invitation, "Miss Wright, do you have time recently? I’d like to treat you to dinner."
Amelia directly refuses, "No need, Miss Morgan, there’s no need to thank me anymore. As I’ve said, everything I did was with intent."
Whether with intent or not, it doesn’t matter to Fiona.
But the fact is, Amelia saved her brother.
Being refused, Fiona doesn’t get angry, but instead lowers her stance even more, "Alright then, on the day of the festival, I’ll reserve a guest seat for Miss Wright. That set of jewelry will surely stun everyone and I can just promote Miss Wright a bit."
Amelia hesitated for a moment, not wanting to join the commotion.
Yet she recalls the 30% Wright family stock transfer agreement in her office drawer and nods in agreement; it’s time to raise Godfery Shaw’s reputation, helping him earn more money.
Seeing Amelia agree, Fiona finally breathes a sigh of relief and then leaves with her assistant.
The whole department is stunned.
Normally, it should be very challenging to arrange a meeting with Queen Morgan, but as it turns out, Queen Morgan wanted to invite their Supervisor Wright to dinner, only to be refused by the Supervisor.
After being refused, Queen Morgan still invites Supervisor Wright to attend the film festival. Anyone invited there, be they makeup artists or stylists, must be renowned figures.
If Supervisor Wright goes, it would practically be ascending to great heights overnight.
What a magical turn of events!
No wonder word came down from the top, saying the future of their department rests solely with this one person.
As Fiona leaves with others, Hamilton, intending to stick around Amelia, is dragged away by his sister pulling his ear.
Fiona’s assistant, feeling anxious, gives a ninety-degree bow to Amelia before hastening to follow and leave.
After seeing Fiona out, someone in the office wants to know what’s going on and musters the courage to step forward, "Supervisor Wright, Miss..."
Amelia directly interrupts, leaving only, "You mind your own business, don’t disturb me."
Then she returns to her office and closes the door.
Everyone exchanges looks, feeling the new supervisor, though very competent in her job, really has a too cold disposition.
Even the original design supervisor, envious, bites off some of the lipstick on her red lips.
Back in her office, Amelia starts working on the finalized concept sketches.
When she focuses on her work, the outside noise automatically fades into the background.
Until the end of work hours arrive, the best thing about working at Cloudglow Tower is once your job is done within work hours, you don’t have to work overtime.
Looking at the door that hasn’t been opened the whole time, no one dares disturb and each leaves work one by one.
When Amelia finally finishes the sketches and lifts her head, she realizes it’s already nine o’clock, and the sky has turned dark.
Standing up, she stretches her stiff neck and arms, and looking somewhat pale, exits the office.
Amelia takes the elevator to the first floor.
Just then, the executive elevator door beside her also opens.
Godfery Shaw and she make eye contact.
Amelia thinks to herself, what an irritating coincidence.
The two don’t greet or approach each other, they just walk out together like strangers.
Godfery’s driver has already parked the car waiting outside the company.
Amelia reaches the entrance, about to leave and find a place further away to get a ride when she hears the man say in a cold tone, "Get in, I’ll take you home."
"No need." Amelia refuses without a second thought.
Godfery domineeringly drags her into the car.
Amelia pulls out a hairpin from her hair and places it against Godfery’s throat, fiercely saying, "Godfery Shaw, we are divorced, stay away from me!"
