CHAPTER 277: HER FATHER IS AT EVE MANSION

Adrian gazed at it for a long time before he picked up a fork, stabbed it into the cookie and put it in his mouth.

Ji Yan couldn’t believe what he was seeing... Second Master, ah, Second Master, why must you act like a lost lover boy instead of talking it out with Miss Yu?

Suddenly, Adrian’s gaze snapped to Ji Yan.

Ji Yan stiffened. He couldn’t hear his thoughts, could he?

Adrian quietly raised his hand.

Ji Yan held his breath. Am I about to die? But my will—

"Does it stink?"

Ji Yan’s eyes popped out. W-What did he just hear? Was his second master facing a lack of confidence?

"What do you mean I don’t have to...?" Ella adjusted the phone on her ears, "There is no way I am going to miss your photoshoot. Don’t worry, I will be there in 15 minutes."

"But you sound like you are unwell," Ruby’s voice came from the other side.

"I am just annoyed," Ella mumbled under her breath, thinking of a tyrant back home.

"Annoyed? Who annoyed you?"

Ella peeked at the cab driver then slumped back on the car seat, "Long story. Forget it, you don’t need to worry about me. Right now, the most important thing is your photoshoot."

"Mm..."

Ella had just hung up on the call when her phone rang again.

This time, it was a call from Bertha.

Danger bells rang in her mind. Could it be that Adrian got pissed too and asked people to drag her back? Now, Bertha was calling her as a warning?

The moment she answered the call, Ella questioned, "Is everything fine?"

"Miss Yu, your father is here."

The hand holding the phone trembled. Ella clutched her phone tighter, "At Eve Mansion?"

"Yes... The second Master has left for work and nobody dared to stop him since he is your father. He demands to see you..."

Ella gripped the phone tighter, "I have cut off all relations with the Yu Family, Bertha. Don’t hold back on my behalf."

There was silence on the other side.

"Send him away... respectfully..."

After hanging up on the call, Ella felt a sense of exhaustion washing over her.

It was strange that some time ago, she had been chasing them, asking for their attention yet they would not look away.

But now that she had just started to patch the old wounds, they were back to rip the bandaids off.

Only if they could be a normal family... and she could also be their loving daughter too.

Ella covered her face with the back of her hand, a drop of tear escaping the corner of her eye.

"Miss, we are here..."

After paying, Ella alighted the cab and looked at the Mystic Studios. Unlike how chaotic the place had looked the last time, it was more organized now.

There were no crowds hunched together to gossip. But rather, everybody was doing their own job.

"Miss Yu?" a voice startled Ella.

When Ella looked to the side, she spotted a girl in her mid 20s, sporting cute glasses, looking at her curiously.

"That’d be me," Ella flashed her a charming smile.

"How pretty..." Startled, the girl immediately slapped a hand over her mouth, her face burning the brightest shade of red, "I... am Miss Ambrose’s assistant. The makeup artists were hounding her so she sent me here to receive you. Oh, I am Poppy..."

"Nice to meet you, Poppy..." Ella’s smile widened when she saw the girl’s genuine reactions.

Poppy led Ella to Ruby’s room. Since Ruby’s makeup was mostly done, the makeup artists did a few touch ups before they left.

Ella sighed, clutching her heart, "If only I was a guy..."

Ruby narrowed her eyes, "Such statements cause misunderstandings."

"What misunderstandings?" Ella blinked.

Suddenly, Ruby remembered the fateful night when Adrian looked at her like she was a love rival. And her lips thinned.

Ella coughed, "Oh, by the way, I need to visit Violet," She raised the small bag in her hand, "She gave me a gift last time so I wanted to give her a little something back..."

Ruby shook her head, "I went to her room earlier but she hadn’t arrived."

After the previous photoshoot, Violet had grown a bit closer to both of them. The girls’ had each other’s numbers and they would catch up every once in a while.

Ella checked the time on her watch, "She should be there by now..."

Both Ella and Ruby headed to Violet’s room.

Ella knocked a few times but there was no response from the inside.

After exchanging a brief glance, Ella pushed open the door.

"Sis, when are you going to learn manners?" Esther turned around, adjusting the seductive black dress around her shoulder.

Ella paused for a moment, her gaze scanning the entire room before landing on Esther again, "What have you done to Violet?"

Esther gasped as she stood up from the chair, "What can I do to her? Wait..." She pointed a finger at Ella, stomping a foot on the ground, "That makes me quite sad, you know. You’d rather worry about a stranger than your own sister."

"Worrying about snakes will get me poisoned," A chilly smile crept on Ella’s lips as she stepped inside the room.

Ella held the door for Ruby. Once Ruby entered, Ella closed the door, locking it behind her.

Esther’s face turned solemn, "What do you want to do?"

"There are two of us,’’ Ruby coldly said, "You are alone. What do you think we can do?"

Esther instinctively grabbed the straightener, "If you resort to violence, I won’t let you off... I will call the police..."

"With Adrian around, I can get away with a little ’disciplining someone who does evil’ kind of violence," Ella smiled coldly.

Esther’s face blanched, "You... How could you mention him in front of..." Her gaze snapped to Ruby who was standing there calmly, "You know him.. You know about him..."

Both Ella and Ruby did not respond.

Esther glared at Ella, "What do you want?"

"Spill the truth," Ella narrowed her eyes, "Why are you here instead of Violet?"

Esther paused for a moment before she burst into a wild peal of laughter.
