CHAPTER 344: CHAPTER344-THE NEW SUN

[There are things you should know now.]

[As you have already seen, four thousand years ago Aurelia and I became the earliest of our generation to ascend as gods.]

[Before that, none of us had any experience to draw upon. We had no example to follow, no knowledge of what it truly meant to walk into divinity.]

[At that time, I had already reached the pinnacle of the Demigod Rank. Yet it was then that I realized something critical: to become a true god, one seemed to require not just one divine seat, but two.]

[Unfortunately, when I finally understood this truth, it was already too late.]

[As for the gods of the Inner World, their existence seems to be bound to ours, almost like shadows born alongside us.]

[The gods of that hidden world are extraordinarily difficult to handle. Even now, when I look back, I think that if I had claimed a second divine seat at that moment, perhaps I could have prevented the gods of the Inner World from ever appearing.]

[But I cannot say with certainty. After all, I never truly tested it.]

[If an awakener truly manages to hold two divine seats, I suspect it may not necessarily be a blessing. It could be worse. It could invite disaster.]

[But for the moment, no signs of corruption have appeared. The Moon Goddess Luna is the best example. When she stood at the threshold of Demigod Rank, she took in a second divine seat.]

[So far, the outcome seems stable. It appears to be working. But who can say what the future will bring?]

The Luck Goddess’s letter was short, and here it ended.

She had not explicitly told Daniel what he ought to do next. Yet Daniel could not shake the feeling that she was speaking not as a lofty deity gazing down at him, but more like an old friend offering private advice.

Of course, he knew such feelings might be genuine, yet they did not necessarily reflect her true nature. In the eyes of a god, all other beings—humans, angels, demons, elves, whatever they may be—were still ants at the end of the day.

So why then was the Luck Goddess extending him this unusual degree of concern? Did she truly regard him as one standing on the same level as herself?

The letter had mentioned the Moon Goddess Luna. Daniel was already somewhat familiar with her.

He read the letter several times more, carefully examining the page for hidden words or secret signals. When he was satisfied there was nothing else concealed, he folded the paper with care and put it away.

He lifted his voice in thought, sending his will out through the network of his mind power.

"My old friend Malkar, are you there?"

The response came immediately. The Emperor of the Abyss, Malkar, appeared before him almost in an instant, drawn by the call.

Milla’s face twisted into an odd expression the moment she saw Malkar standing there.

"Lord Daniel," she said, unable to restrain her surprise, "you... you actually know him?"

Daniel nodded, his manner casual, almost dismissive.

"Yes. You could say I know him, though only in passing."

Then he turned, his eyes falling on the looming figure of Malkar. His tone sharpened slightly.

"Do not let any abyssal creature approach the Filth of God."

At Daniel’s words, Malkar did not immediately agree. His face betrayed hesitation, even longing.

For he could feel it—the terrible yet intoxicating power buried within the Filth. If he could harness it, if he could master it, perhaps the abyssal races would one day rise above humanity itself.

It was a tempting vision. A dangerous thought.

But now, standing in Daniel’s presence, under the oppressive weight of his will, Malkar dared not resist openly.

Of course, none of this escaped Daniel’s notice. His Psychic Perception made Malkar’s intentions as transparent as glass.

And so, in the very next moment, Daniel planted a subtle suggestion deep into Malkar’s mind.

From that instant on, when Malkar looked upon the Filth of God, he no longer saw potential power. Instead he saw a dreadful poison, a substance that could easily annihilate countless abyssal beings.

The change was immediate. Malkar lowered his head and spoke in earnest tones.

"Rest assured, my friend. I will not allow any abyssal creature to go near the Filth of God."

Daniel gave a small nod of approval.

Then, stretching out his hand, he drew a sigil in the air, carving a resurrection zone directly into the abyss itself.

This way, should any unexpected event occur, he could respond immediately.

But in truth, he knew these were only temporary measures. In the end, the responsibility lay with Milla. She would need to carefully, painstakingly, cleanse the filth, bit by bit.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Dark Star Jarvan finally completed his task. He had consumed the last vestiges of Apollo’s remaining power.

He exhaled deeply, his body brimming with new energy. His aura was sharp, clear, refreshed.

His level had now reached 800.

...

Elsewhere, at the same moment, the communications network flickered to life. A short message had been sent out.

The fewer the words, the greater the weight. At first glance, the notice looked pitifully brief. Many frowned at its vagueness.

But then they read the words, and the expressions on their faces transformed into delight.

"So it’s true? Lord Daniel is finally going to inherit the throne of the Human Emperor."

"I knew it! It was only a matter of time."

"Emperor Odin has certainly earned his glory, but truth be told, I am even more eager to see what Daniel will accomplish as our new Emperor."

And then came the image.

On the network appeared a photograph—a fireball glowing faintly in the sky. It was not dazzling, not bright like the sun of old.

And yet that one picture was enough to ignite the entire world.

"Wait—look at this. Is that the sun?"

"It looks like the sun, but something feels off."

"Are you people blind? The sun already fell! Everyone saw it crash into the abyss. It’s gone!"

Debate spread like wildfire. Was this truly the return of the sun, or some other strange apparition?

The truth soon revealed itself. Observers noticed the glow lacked the blazing brilliance of the real sun. It was darker, veiled, almost as though wrapped in shadow.

In reality, the figure in the heavens was none other than the Dark Star Jarvan himself. Unlike Apollo, he did not radiate light naturally.

And yet, even so, dawn had come to the Myriad Races Continent once more. Light filled the sky, chasing away the endless night.

But this time, the illumination did not come from a star. It emanated instead from the Divine Realm, now suspended in the heavens.

Daniel now held complete authority over the Divine Realm.

Which meant, in truth, humanity had gained a new territory.

When the Anygate was set in place, Daniel was preparing to head toward the abyss once again. But just then, a message arrived from the Human Emperor himself.

"Daniel, everything is ready here. We are only waiting on you."

"I believe this will be the most important succession ceremony in the history of our race."

Reading the words, Daniel froze for just a moment. Then a small smile touched his lips.

It seemed the time had finally come.

The time for the succession ceremony.

His figure vanished from the abyss and appeared instantly in Winterhold Castle.

At that moment, the vast plaza of the castle was already overflowing with people.

The crowd had gathered, anticipation burning in their hearts.

They had come to witness the dawn of a new era.

They had come to see Daniel ascend as the new Human Emperor.
