Regression of the Genius Extra
Chapter 62 -: 62, Final Verdict
CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER: 62, FINAL VERDICT
The scene was deathly silent as everyone waited for Dainsleif to make a decision. It was obvious that Azaria had agreed to marry him to get him out of the punishment.
Most of their classmates were confused as to why Azaria would want to protect him if she was indeed assaulted by Dainsleif. Was their moment really an assault or was it truly consensual like Hestia had declared earlier?
After a long silence, Dainsleif finally opened his mouth saying something that shocked everyone.
"Your highness. If I had to choose between Dying in a humiliating way and marrying Azaria, I would choose to be tortured by a female lesser widowed ghost. Hope that answers your curiosity..."
The scene now just becomes extra weird. The Blessed didn’t know anything about widowed ghosts, but the three girls and the Empire officials knew it very well.
A widowed ghost was not that powerful if you have to be honest. Hell, it was the weakest monster you could ever find if you exclude the non-transcendent animals like normal birds, ants, insects and any livestock animals.
The widowed ghost is even considered to be weaker than a freaking dog that is used to train the children from level 1-10 on how to defeat monsters.
The term ’being tortured’ or ’being killed’ by the widowed ghost is nothing but the ’I’d rather drown in a handful of water’ or ’rather eat Sh*t’ lines from Earth. That holds no real value and is just used to prove a point.
"Dreamer Dainsleif, how do you know this term?" That’s all Emperor Ray asked. Not that it was relevant, but it was just that he never expected a person from a foreign world to know the famous puns from this world in just over half a month.
"That’s irrelevant your highness. Just announce the final verdict." He said.
Emperor Ray nodded and was about to do just that when Penelope interrupted him, "Dainsleif! Why don’t you just marry her? This facility can protect you until you become strong enough to defend yourself. What in Azaria is not to your liking that you won’t even consider marrying her?"
Others also realized this, why wouldn’t he just marry her? Even if he didn’t like Azaria, she was a sweet girl who anyone would want to marry. Even if we get that aside, just the protection from the facility was enough to make anyone agree, after all, nobody wanted to die early after they finally had their wish to be reincarnated in another world come true. Every one of them wants to experience this world to the fullest.
"Because I’d rather choose to die than be close to you disgusting trio."
Dainsleif looked at them mockingly and uttered the words they never wanted to hear. They clenched their teeth with pain that violently destroyed every emotional barrier solely standing tall on false hope, the hope Dainsleif might forgive them.
Azaria’s legs gave out and she fell backwards, leaning against the wall burying her head in her knees as tears fell like waterfall, soaking the dress.
Penelope shook her head and quietly left through the door, unable to keep herself steady and afraid to show her tears to anyone.
Hestia stood there, her red eyes locked onto him and trying to detect any sign of forceful declaration, but found none. It was painfully hard for her to believe that the person who promised to be her friend, someone who once talked about a future with her, although not explicit, it was still something. And now, that very person is calling them disgusting.
She lowered her head, staying silent.
After a few moments, Emperor Ray declared, "Dreamer Dainsleif, because of the accusation against you of sexually assaulting Dark Knight Azaria, and with no proof of your innocence being available. From now on, you are hereby expelled from the Blessed Training Campaign and also the Imperial Palace.
"You will be provided with an ample amount of gold coins for your life outside. You are to leave the Palace right this instant!"
The verdict was declared and there was nothing they could do. Dainsleif smiled and stood up to prepare. His figure vanished from the door right in front of Hestia’s gaze.

After Dainsleif entered his room, he began to pack the things he needed that turned out to be so little that they could be filled in a small bag. He quickly packed them up and headed towards the palace gates.
He walked through the hallways, witnessed by the rest of his classmates who looked at him with complicated eyes.
After what he said earlier, they were pretty sure that Dainsleif might not have been in his right mind, which led to him doing that. But some still believed him to be the culprit. After all, many criminals can go to any length to prove their innocence even when they indeed were the culprit.
Dainsleif didn’t mind them and walked calmly among their gazes. Just before he was about to leave the castle gate, Lilith stopped him and handed him a pouch.
"I know you didn’t do it, since I have the means to know who’s telling the truth or who’s telling the lie. I am surprised that even His Highness didn’t try to appeal for you, when he clearly knew you were telling the truth.
"But regardless, I felt like you wanted to leave. I won’t try to pursue you, but take care of yourself." Lilith said softly and bid him farewell.
Dain smiled and bid her farewell as well and then walked to the Palace entrance, where Azaria stood silently, her eyes downcast and filled with gloom and heartache.
Dainsleif ignored her and began to walk right past her. When he was right beside her, he heard Azaria mutter that only they could hear and said, "I’m Sorry..."
Dainsleif ignored and acted as though he didn’t hear her while his steps didn’t stop on its track. But Azaria wasn’t done, when he was finally out of the gate he heard her shout, "I’M SORRY!"
