Chapter 72 -: 72, Shadowed
CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER: 72, SHADOWED
[Master of Shadow] (SS-rank) Attribute Description: "You are a Shadow and also their Master."
[Death Affinity] (SS-rank) Attribute Description: "A being born from Death would undoubtedly have affinity over its source."
[Shadowed] (SS-rank) Attribute Description: "You are a Shadow, but you also possess your own shadows."
The Attributes finally had their chance to be known as Silas was almost finishing his meal. The first two attributes were there for his affinity.
And yes, it might not have been mentioned previously but every skill and attributes he got from the Layer unlock are all of SS-rank. Rex explained as the Narration came to this part.
"Well! Let’s start. First, S-rank or Sacred rank is what you’d call the Pinnacle of Mortality. It is the pinnacle where a mortal can reach, like demi-gods. Who are the pinnacles of mortality but still far from being an actual God.
"Then it comes to the SS or Divine rank. It is the rank when someone truly touches upon godhood. This is the start of being comparable and on the level of divine beings. But even then, it is nothing compared to the Primeval rank.
"SSS or Primeval rank is what you’d call the Pinnacle of Godhood/Divinity. It is the rank where no other skills or beings can match them in their category of Authority. The true powerhouses who have no competition in their fields.
"I, as an Artifact beyond the Primeval Rank, is someone who holds absolute authority over Divine Ranks or Below. SSS-rank things have too much Authority for me to have control over them. Also, SSS-rank skills specifically are also what the World sees as a Law in itself and won’t give permission to be used as mere pawns by anyone’s hands.
"In addition, I create the Layers with the residual essence of the 16 gods, so I can replicate their Divine Skills as the gods had made those Skills with their own hands. Every Gods to ever exist only had one Primeval Skill each, which they all were born with and had no authority to pass over.
"Which is why, I can only make everything he has only up to Divine Rank." Rex finished giving a ’No need for thanks this time~ I have let them know my greatness after all~~’
"I don’t know what you just thought or said that I didn’t or wasn’t able to hear, but let me remind you that it’s not true." Silas muttered as he took the last bite of food and began to arrange the utensils and plates, Unable to read the Narration, only able to talk in that for some reason.
And as for the Last Attribute...
Silas’s gaze moved down to look at his own shadow at his feet. But his eyes didn’t just look at the shadow, it gazed much deeper. At the deepest part within his shadow, a black void covered in darkness was present, which could chill the hearts of any mortal and send fear to the very bones of his enemies.
The Dark void wasn’t empty. Within its darkness, stood hundreds of dark figures, some were of humans and some were of beasts and monsters. They all had a blank expression on their faces, as if lifeless puppets.
With a mental command, Silas’s shadow split into two and then three. After two separate shadows appeared on the floor, soon, they stirred as if coming alive. They slowly rose from the ground, taking a physical form of two humanoid figures.
Both of them didn’t waste much time as they were always summoned for only one thing and they could also sense the order their master had summoned them to the physical world for.
One of them picks up the piled dishes and takes them to wash. The other one goes to the storage room and picks up the cleaning supplies and cleans up everything Silas made a mess of.
After that, Silas Walked slowly to a part of the house near a bookshelf. He then pulled on a book and strange mechanical sounds began to ring from a distance. Soon, a hidden door through the wall opened, showing the stairs leading towards the darkness.
But everything within the Darkness was visible to him, I mean, which shadow would be unable to see in its own source element?
He slowly descended the stairs step by step and the passage behind him closed. He descended for about an hour before finally stopping in front of a door. He opened it and stepped forward.
Inside, he saw a dimly lit dungeon with its entire wall being bone white like it was carved out of the bone of the deity remains.
And that was exactly the case. His ancestors who have lived here had carved this dungeon with countless years of hard work. Even then, he once heard his dad mention that the ancestor who made this almost city sized dungeon was very much disappointed with his progress.
Why would someone be disappointed after carving an entire city out of the bone of a fallen deity? Quite simply, the city wasn’t big enough.
It was said that the ancestor wanted to create a structure that was big enough to reach the hollows of the bones. But to his disappointment, He was far from reaching that depth.
Hell! He couldn’t even reach the 1% deep of the bone. He was far from even that.
For example, imagine the entire bone as the entire core structure of the Earth, which is actually much smaller than the Deity bone, but still hypothetically, imagine the bone being as small as the Earth.
Then the dungeon was as deep as how much a small needle would dig on the ground, completely insignificant compared to the massive size.
His ancestors goal was vast and sky high, and because of that, he met with nothing but pure disappointment.
Walking inside the dungeon city, in front of the vast ceiling far from his reach, just like the sky from his previous world. He couldn’t help but remember the Name of this Vast and Majestic City,
The ’City of Graves’...
