Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 358: A Lot Of Shuttles
CHAPTER 358: CHAPTER 358: A LOT OF SHUTTLES
Now that Kael thought of it, he had never seen any cats since he came to this world.
Well, technically, lions and tigers were big cats but Chloe wasn’t referring to those types of cats. She was likely talking about the domestic cats Kael knew of from his past life.
’The law of freedom?’
Kael mused to himself. He didn’t know how that kind of law worked but he could guess that it wasn’t really compatible with the law of Conquering.
’Wait, if Noel had broken the lineage agreement by hunting down the tigers, could the Cats have punished him? Did they even have the power to punish him at that time?
If so, did they have a hand in Noel’s sacrifice being in vain? Wouldn’t that just be very petty?’
As Kael thought to himself, he turned his head to look above him. His gaze met the artificial sky. This sky was different from the artificial sky of the pocket dimension, this one was simply a projection of a starry sky.
Not too bright, not too dark. The stars were artificially generated by the conversion of Origin Essence.
The stars were not many, just a few hundred, but they were all bright enough to keep the chamber world illuminated.
"The Cats, where are they?" Kael asked Chloe as he began to walk. His mind scanned through the Arkship, looking for something.
He no longer had any intention of keeping the tigers as Vassals, but...there were loopholes.
The tigers would be put to good use, whether anyone liked it or not. Kael would forcefully make sure of that.
He wouldn’t let his battle with the tigers be in ’vain’. Every value must be extracted, every blood that flowed out of his body must be paid for a hundredfold.
Kael’s eyes narrowed with a ruthless glint flashing through them.
Chloe shook her head, "I don’t know. I never bothered to check.
Cats are mysterious sometimes, only showing up when they feel like it. They don’t like being bothered unless in some specific situations and they are very selective about many things.
They are like the guests who turn your house into their house, and sometimes, you don’t know they’re in your house.
A single cat could disappear for hundreds of years, doing who knows what, then show up out of nowhere.
If you’re looking for them, it’s best not to. Even if you wanted to fight them, it’s not worth it at all."
Kael shook his head as space began to tremble around them. He called upon the power of the arkship to create a portal to a particular chamber world, a very interesting one.
"I wasn’t looking for them for any, just somewhat intrigued by your description of them. I think I may have seen some Cats before," Kael said as he stepped through the portal.
Chloe and Katari followed after him.
"Where? Are there cats here?" Chloe asked, bewildered.
Kael didn’t answer, he was referring to the cats from his past life.
He was not a guy who kept pets in his past life. He could hardly take care of himself, talk more of another animal. But he did have some neighbors who kept domestic pets like cats and dogs.
He didn’t know if those cats were the same cats Chloe was talking about. If that were so, it could mean a lot of things, not just for him, but for the creatures still living on planet Earth.
Kael shook his head to rid himself of the useless thoughts. Nothing was tying him to Earth and his past life again, there was no use thinking too much about it.
The trio stepped out of the portal, entering a different environment.
The sky here was the same as that in the Lion Chamber World. A few hundred bright artificial stars hung in the sky like faerie lanterns, illuminating the world below.
Kael, Chloe, and Katari appeared on top of a small cliff.
Behind them was the closed metal gate leading to this chamber world and in front of them was a vast expanse beyond the cliff’s edge.
The chamber world was slightly bigger than the others because of what it was meant for. There were three chambers like this one, each serving the same purpose.
"This is it," Chloe said with a tone of excitement, "This changes the game for us,"
Kael, for some reason, found it hard to hold back his excitement. His shoulders trembled and he almost skipped a few steps.
The treasures in the Iron Blood Pyramid could not compare to this. Not at all.
Kael took a few steps forward until he was standing directly at the edge of the cliff.
His golden eyes blazed with exhilaration. His chest rose and fell and his breathing fumbled.
"Wow," was all he could say.
It was one thing to see it in memories, it was another thing to actually see it with his own eyes.
He remembered the first time he saw a magic shuttle, he was very intrigued by its design. He had seen his first magic shuttle by looking into Katari’s memories, a dangerous act that had fortunately bore no consequences.
The second time he saw a magic shuttle was when he went to the portal gate to the Iron Blood Pyramid’s dimension. There, Xu Ying had parked his magic shuttle with confidence and left it under the command of his rat slave.
A few days after that, he inherited the Iron Blood Pyramid and became the new owner of the two shuttles parked inside it.
The feeling of piloting a shuttle for the first time was fascinating, it was like a child who got to ride a spacecraft.
However, the feeling was completely different from what he felt when he linked with the Arkship.
When Chloe gave him all command, he felt omnipotent, like everything within the arkship was under his control. He felt godly.
Out of the two shuttles he got from the Iron Blood Pyramid, the Iron Blood Shuttle was still back home, to be used by his lionesses in case of an emergency.
The other nameless combat-model shuttle had been used by Chloe to quickly find the Peach Valley.
Kael didn’t know whether that shuttle was still in good condition after the damage it had received from Agatha.
The fate of the creatures within it at that time was also yet to be revealed.
At least, now Kael knew that standard magic shuttles were not so powerful before a bona fide tier 5 lion or equivalent.
However, all that faded in comparison to what he was seeing right now.
Even Katari who was usually expressionless could not help but show a satisfied smirk on her face.
Magic Shuttles.
Lots and lots of magic shuttles.
Kael’s golden eyes gleamed brightly. His spirit eye opened and a terrifying spirit wave swept out.
He scanned as much as he could.
From vision alone, he estimated that there were about five hundred magic shuttles parked here in this chamber world.
His Spirit Eye was showing him that there were slightly more than that.
More than five hundred magic shuttles, just like that. All were parked below, on the black sand ground.
Their hulls reflected the light from the bright stars above. Some had shiny metal exteriors, some were painted in different colors and patterns.
Some shuttles even had string durable wooden exteriors.
All manner of shuttles were here, different models for different situations and purposes.
Mining-model shuttle, carrier-model, harvester-model, factory-model, scout-model, cruise-model, combat-model, and even a few hybrid-models.
They were all arranged neatly. The comba-model shuttles formed an assembly at one part, and carriers formed an assembly in another place.
Mining-model shuttles were parked orderly in another section.
It was as if the whole chamber world had not been affected by the movements of the Arkship.
"Imagine how much we can accomplish with this. Our Magus creatures will have enough materials and resources to confidently reengineer the shuttles and create our own.
Even without that, our military and operational might will be greatly uplifted with these," Chloe said as she imagined what would soon happen soon.
This was just one of the chamber worlds.
Space collapsed around the trio again, transporting them to another chamber world.
This chamber world was just like the last one. It also had more than seven hundred different magic shuttles of different designs parked here.
Kael’s breathing became ragged and hitched. He spent some seconds taking in the sight before using the arkship’s spatial control to transport them to the last chamber world.
Kael took a deep breath. Right before his eyes were shuttles, arranged in rows and columns.
So many shuttles.
’Is this what it feels like to go from rags to riches?’ Kael asked himself as he struggled to stop himself from jumping up in excitement.
This was wealth, this was power, this was resources.
To think he had almost let the tigers take these things for themselves.
And now, they all belonged to him, Kael.
"That’s close to two thousand. A lot of arkships in heaven don’t even have up to this many shuttles..." Chloe exclaimed in shock.
"There’s more," Kael said with a smirk as he browsed through the list of chamber worlds in the arkship.
