Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 360: Evolutions
CHAPTER 360: CHAPTER 360: EVOLUTIONS
Some creatures at the bloody field who had come to eat but refused to join the Vassal Records were killed or almost killed.
The lion government didn’t care at all about the resentment they were building up. All they wanted was the Lionhood Bar to be filled.
One could imagine how annoyed it felt for them to spend time preaching about the glory of the golden lion and the benefits of joining the kingdom only for those creatures to refuse.
It was frustrating. Some creatures were immediately met with intense violence, some had their heads flying and their throats ripped out.
It was like denying a drug addict his high.
However, there was some silver lining to all the violence that was occurring.
They had ended up pulling a vast number of predators into the Vassal Records. Their recruitment rate was a shocking eighty percent success.
Of course, the remaining twenty percent accounted for those who refused to join. They were either killed off or ran away.
Most of the creatures here now were all part of Kael’s nameless Kingdom of beasts, waiting to be mobilized to take over the world.
But there was a party that was left to their own devices.
Marcus and his vultures. They had taken up a small part of the bloody fields as their own.
By this time, all the carcasses there were gone and replaced with different skeletal remains.
Vultures flew through the sky, staring down in satisfaction at the land below. This feast had been rewarding.
Marcus, their leader, also circled the sky. His white rings for eyes locked on Priya’s moving form from above, staring at her with curiosity.
He wasn’t sure whether he should approach her or leave her be for now. She was related to that mysterious fellow who had helped him out before, he was sure of it.
Was he to just go up to her and ask about his whereabouts?
He could see that she was busy managing different creatures with the other high-level lionesses. They seemed to be appointing leaders or enforcers of some sort.
Marcus’s eyes narrowed.
Something was going on.
Many hours ago, the world seemed to have changed right before his eyes. He felt that there was something in the atmosphere, rising, making him feel more satisfied.
He felt closer and closer to the next level with every moment this strange substance rose in the atmosphere. His breathing became smoother and his body became slightly stronger.
He wasn’t the only one who felt it, everyone else felt it.
From his point of view high in the sky, he was able to see farther than most creatures would be able to. His eyes stared at the distant horizon, his gaze brushing on the curvature of the world.
There, he didn’t know what he was seeing, but he saw something. He didn’t know how to describe it, but he was sure that it was there.
That was where the mini earthquake had originated from, according to the creatures with earth-based powers.
Speaking of powers, he had benefited a lot from this place. He didn’t eat anything, but his belly was filled and he had gotten stronger, edging closer to tier 5 equivalent.
He was just a step away from evolving to the next level.
It wasn’t just him, a lot of vultures and other creatures had evolved as well.
Some creatures had fallen into a deep slumber here due to reaching their limits. When they wake up, they would be able to access a set of new powers as well as gaining the ability to take on a humanoid form.
Some creatures who were already high-level used the opportunity to feast their way to the next tier, growing in size and strength.
Diane, Zabita, Ruda, Eidel, and Olivia had done this. They didn’t need to spend any time contemplating on their nature or meditating on their powers, they had brute-forced their way into tier 4.
It was a lot harder than tier 3 where they only had to eat the heart of another tier 3. This time, they had lost count of how many bodies they had devoured.
They had to feed themselves until they were so full that their body had no choice but to use the excess nutrients to kickstart their evolution.
At least, all of them were finally in tier 4.
All except one.
Nallin was not here. It wasn’t like she wasn’t a meat-eater like the rest. She had passed by a few days ago and ate a little before moving on in pursuit of the different herds.
Nalii was also in search of exotic fruits and vegetation. She was a Veggie Lioness, it wasn’t weird that she would at some point prefer another food source that wasn’t meat.
At the same time, it was a good thing. For Nalii to evolve, brute forcing her way to tier 4 was very possible, but should it be done by eating meat?
Wasn’t it safer for her to use other food sources?
Preferences.
Now, Nalii was the only one still at the tier 3 stage, searching for exotic fruits that she would use to evolve.
Priya had made sure that she was escorted by some lions, wolves, and birds. Both of them were long-time friends after all.
Burdo couldn’t make it, or rather, he wasn’t allowed to come. It was a shame.
He had just gotten to tier 3 stage and wanted to continue that momentum. But if he left, who would govern Paradise Beach?
He also had to take care of Kael’s future consort, Wei, and make sure she grew up properly.
As the Origin Essence became richer on Eridoria, it marked the beginning of drastic changes coming to the world.
#####
Far away, as the arkship slowly moved through the sky, bringing with it severe weather changes.
Down below, the ruins of the peach valley were silent. Any creature that had survived had already run away.
Amidst the strewn rocks and rubble, a lonesome magic shuttle lay, decimated.
It was the nameless shuttle, fallen and desolate among the chunks of earth.
Most of its body was still stuck out of the destroyed ground, some parts of the hull were still frozen in a casing of ice.
The whole vessel was silent, nothing moved at all.
And then, a spatial distortion beam hit the nearly one thousand meters long shuttle. The whole metal vessel shook and vibrated. It released a low metallic groan like a wounded beast.
Then, the whole shuttle disappeared from its position.
The next time it appeared, it was in a chamber world.
Kael stood in front of the shuttle that had just teleported to the area in front of him. His blonde hair blew back from the rising wind.
The blood that stained his face was now gone completely but his clothes were still torn apart. He was yet to find immediate replacements.
Standing by his side were Katari and Chloe.
They both stared at the shuttle with different expressions. If not for the on-seat pilots assisting them with cannon blasts, Kael and Katari might not have made it through so easily.
At the end, Agatha single-handedly put the shuttle out of use.
Chloe raised her hand and waved it at the shuttle. She was still the registered owner and default Lioness Commander of the shuttle, so she could still control it.
There was a low chime as different runes flickered to life around the shuttle. They went on and off, as if the circuits providing them power were damaged.
The hull had many scratches and deep gashes. A few more and Agatha might have torn her way through the metal to kill those inside.
The shuttle was badly damaged, and it was no longer in a condition to operate at half of its true capabilities. A lot of the cannons had been destroyed, frozen, or crushed.
*CHINK!*
At the sides of the shuttle, multiple compartments released streams of white steam from the gaps before being ejected out of the sides.
Escape pods shaped like metal eggs fell to the ground one after the other.
Kael walked over to one of the escape pods which was about three meters in height, enough for a lion in humanoid form to escape.
The escape pod was made of a durable metal, much stronger than what was used for the shuttle’s exterior.
It seemed that some of the creatures within the shuttle at the time Agatha was attacking had managed to escape to the escape pods. However, they had not been able to eject on time.
As he approached, the curved door of the escape pod swung open and a naked humanoid female pushed out of the inside in a hurry.
She looked around with extreme vigilance, her fiery red eyes scanning the new world before her. Her two red pointy ears moved around like satellites, quickly identifying the sound of footsteps coming toward her.
She turned to her side, stunned to see a golden-haired man with beautiful golden eyes walking toward her.
"Your Majesty," She was swift in recognizing the situation. She quickly bowed her upper body slightly as a show of respect and acknowledgement.
Her four red fluffy tails rose behind her like a peacock’s tail feathers. Her breasts dangled off her chest as she bowed, causing Kael’s gaze to inadvertently wander to that area.
"Sofia..." Kael spoke.
