Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 367: Five Minutes
CHAPTER 367: CHAPTER 367: FIVE MINUTES
For now, Ozia barely knew how to use his Time powers. He was mostly operating his daily life with War and Magus abilities.
And with no one around to guide him on how to use it, Ozia was expected to eventually figure things out on his own.
Of course, for the cubs that were smart enough to compare themselves with others, Ozia was a thorn in their sides.
Sometimes, they didn’t need to compare themselves, their parents would do it for them.
And being compared to someone like Ozia was not a good thing.
For Wei, the supposed future consort of the king, Ozia was not a bad person, but he wasn’t a good person either. She had seen her father grumble every time the subject of Ozia was brought up.
As young as they were, Wei and Ozia shared almost the same level of status despite not being at the same power level.
Wei had been born as a tier 2 cub and had naturally advanced to tier 3 shortly after the Origin Essence eruption.
She was still at the tier 3 stage but was already comparable to many adult lions in strength due to her specialty. The contract she had with the king ensured she had her own pool of Conquering Essence within her.
As young as she was, she was also exceptional.
Wei was going to be a future consort, and Ozia was going to be a future Lion Prince of the Ol-mytee Clan.
It was inevitable that they would sometimes match their status and strengths against each other even though it wasn’t necessary. Ozia himself had nothing to worry about as Wei couldn’t possibly threaten his position.
It was the same for Wei.
Katari stood on the invisible platform, keeping her arms behind her back. Her eyes shifted slightly, observing the blue-skinned child and the first prince.
She was simply here to oversee their training, that was all. If it were her own work, the elephant man would have died a long time ago without knowing what killed him.
But here, she wasn’t just guiding them on how to fight, she was mentoring them on the art of killing.
"Ozia, you’re too inefficient. The longer you waste time on a single enemy, the higher the risk of something going wrong.
And if something could go wrong, it will.
You’ve had your testing time alone, and you’ve failed.
Now, you will work with the others to take down this rebel. You all have five minutes to execute him.
Failure will warrant severe punishments.
Your time starts now,"
Katari’s voice was crisp and clear, she spoke in the familiar lion tongue.
Ozia, Jeremiah, Wei, and Alyrat felt a shiver go down their spine.
Failure will warrant severe punishments, this line was enough to get them upright and straighten their senses.
Suddenly, two of the little humanoids burst forth with speed. It was Ozia and Alyrat.
Ozia sped off, leaving a rainbow train behind him as he flew straight for the elephant man.
Alyrat on the other hand jumped down from the spatial platform, partly to make some distance between her and her mother and also to quickly perform the needed task.
She had personally experienced Katari’s concept of ’punishment’ and she had questioned whether Katari even loved her as a mother at all.
It wasn’t something one would wish to experience ever again.
Alyrat’s little body slammed into the ground, forming a small crater. She burst off with speed, digging into the ground and chasing after Ozia’s form.
A second later, Jeremiah and Wei jumped off the invisible platform too to join Ozia and Alyrat. Jeremiah, Alyrat, and Wei were all tier three. Their joint forces might not be able to take down an entity like this elephant man but they weren’t thinking of that.
They were absolutely scared of what Katari would do to them if we didn’t succeed. Compared to that, this elephant was not that scary.
Vines and water streams erupted around the plains as Wei and Jeremiah raced toward the elephant. Every effort counts.
There was no point in being selfish, if they failed to take down the rebel in five minutes, they would all be in serious trouble.
The elephant man, seeing Ozia flying back toward him, roared furiously. His arm had already regenerated. Although, was as good as the original, it was still better than nothing.
"DIE FOR ME!..." Ozia roared at the top of his lungs as he body slammed into the elephant man’s chest.
The elephant man barely moved as hundreds of thick vines supported him from behind and infused him with surging vitality.
’Five seconds gone,’ Ozia thought to himself, panicking as he realized he was still some hits away from bringing down this foe.
"Hurry up, damnit," He hurriedly sent a telepathic message to the trio who were still approaching from behind.
A massive palm made from vines struck him down from above. Ozia countered with a blinding magical attack. A rune circle materialized above him in a vertical position and began spinning.
The spinning magic circle sliced upward, easily cutting through the vine palm. But thousands of vines were heading his way.
The elephant man had made some distance between them, shielding himself in a forest of rising trees which were not there before.
He began to transform, finding a better chance of survival in his elephant form. He knew that the price was not going to be her without supervision. That mysterious figure far away was probably responsible for his severed hand.
He was more cautious now.
The ground beneath his feet burst apart as a little lion-eared girl jumped out of the ground. The elephant man who was in the middle of his transformation was caught off guard.
Two pairs of little arms latched onto his face, sinking their tiny claws as deeply as they could try to get.
At the same time, earthen spikes shot up from the ground behind the elephant, stabbing into his calves and thighs.
The elephant grunted, then used his elongated nose to pry Alyrat off his face before flinging her away. Alyrat broke through multiple tall trees before stopping.
She subconsciously looked at the distant figure of her mother who remained calm and watched everything with an observant gaze.
Alyrat frowned, then rushed back into the fight.
Meanwhile, Wei and Jeremiah had arrived and begun throwing all their attacks. There was a strategy to their combat pattern.
Jeremiah’s powers were least effective here as he was fighting a being much stronger than him with the same powers. Almost all the vines and trees he summoned would be hijacked by the elephant before he could do anything.
All he could do was provide support and distraction for the rest, which was still good.
Wei focused on long-range attacks, shooting water arrows and blades as she moved around the devastated land.
She had to make sure to deal as much damage as she could without drawing the full attention of the elephant.
Alyrat was taking her time, attacking from below whenever she saw the best opportunity. She struck fast, always aiming for work spots.
The scale of this fight was wide and the earth was being destroyed for many kilometers.
The only reason the three of them could last so long in this fight was because Ozia was tanking most of the attacks from the elephant. He knew those three would not be able to survive without his full assistance so he put his all in.
He basically turned into a punching bag, he was whipped, kicked, punched, slammed, and crushed. His body ached, but he kept on coming back with his own blows.
Time after time, runes lit up on his skin as he combined two different powers to deliver effective attacks.
And the elephant naturally acknowledged the existence of those three troublesome trio, but Ozia was the most dangerous one so he had to place most of his focus on Ozia.
’One minute...’ Ozia counted in his mind, his heart tightened with fear.
Every time the elephant wanted to switch his focus to the weaker three, Ozia would swoop down and bash him as much as he could. Tearing away all the vines in his way like a mad child.
’Two minutes.’
The elephant was not particularly super fast or strong. This wasn’t a high-speed battle. The rebel had already been carefully marked and selected a long time ago, the elephant was a perfect opponent for the cubs.
’Three minutes,’
Thousands of vines rose into the sky, their tips flashing with a sharp green light. The vines rained down, aiming their tips at the cubs with intense killing intent.
Ozia roared, quickly assembling a wide magic barrier formation that covered all of them.
’Four minutes,’
The fighting became more hectic. Jeremiah lost the gentlemanly vibe at once as he went all out. They all fought as if their lives were on the line.
Even the elephant was shocked at the ferocity of these cubs. He wasn’t aware that what was coming from behind was a greater fear factor than anything he stood for.
By now, the elephant was riddled with injuries. His abdomen was cut open and multiple earth spikes stuck out of his wounds.
He was not yet defeated though.
"You’re five minutes are up," Katari’s chilling voice resounded in the ears of the little ones.
