CHAPTER 375: CHAPTER 375: ALORA’S COLD

Kael’s frown deepened.

Before he said or did anything, he swiped his hands, sending the golden screen away from his face.

Purple electricity flashed around him as Ruda zoomed over. She stopped beside him, commanding her lightning arcs to die down.

"Kael, Your Majesty..." She started, taking on a seductive tone.

Her short spiky pink hair flared in front of Kael, obstructing his vision.

Kael raised his hand in front of her face, stopping her from completing her sentence.

Ruda closed her mouth, confused. She had thought that Kael would not care about Uncle’s death but it seemed like she was wrong.

Kael rubbed the bridge of his nose, not interested in clearing Ruda’s misunderstanding. He didn’t care about Uncle’s death at all, he was just worried that things in heaven were heating up faster than he could prepare.

What did they mean Adolf was dead, that fast? Just like that?

Adolf still owed him three more obedience debts. Although Kael had increasingly found that Adolf was not as effective as Alora he was still a good asset, one that he planned on keeping even after the obedience debt was completely paid off.

And Adolf was the son of a Lion King, not just any Lion King, but a tier 6 Magus Lion.

Not only had Adolf died, but his whole clan was wiped out.

Kael sighed, ’That’s one asset lost,’ He thought. It was annoying.

His life was in danger. Whatever luxury he was enjoying on Eridoria as a king was limited. He needed to act fast.

"What about Nalii and Olivia?" Kael suddenly asked.

Ruda beamed a smile, "They’re on their way, I’m sure they want to join as well," She said as she got closer to Kael and pressed her chest on his arm.

Of course, only Ruda would have the mind to think of sexual intercourse at a time like this. The fact that Uncle had just died flew over her head completely. It was as if she didn’t care that much.

She didn’t.

"Go wait for me inside," Kael said to her calmly. Ruda squirmed, already imagining the different positions...

She skipped her way toward the wooden pyramid. The hard and thick wooden slabs slid out of the way, revealing a clear hallway that led into the den.

This pyramid was just something the creatures on this peach island used as a base and a place of rest, the privileged few that is.

After Ruda was gone, Kael resumed focus. The golden screen appeared in front of him again.

Alora’s message was here, he hadn’t read it wrongly.

....

Kael: What happened?

....

There was a pause as it seemed like Alora was not in a position to chat with him.

It was something he was used to now. Alora seemed very busy and he was curious about her progress.

With her desire for power, he was sure that she wouldn’t be satisfied with the mere tier 4 power level she had before leaving. She would surely want more.

At least, Kael was certain that Alora wanted enough power to challenge him.

Finally, Alora responded.

....

Alora: Ma’abu made the first move.

I don’t know how it happened but it seemed there was an argument over the increasing instability of the collective fortune.

Ma’abu and Adolf’s father were arguing and Adolf’s father was claiming that Ma’abu might be the one in the wrong and if he just stepped back...

It would have ended in a simple argument but I heard that many other impatient Lion Kings started edging Ma’abu on to make a move.

And then, Ma’abu probably felt that there was no use wasting any more time, and initiated an attack.

Kael, ten lion kings, including Ma’abu descended on Adolf’s father, and he couldn’t fight back at all. After killing him, they hunted down all the clan members who were in heaven, including Adolf, and killed them all.

Now, they are currently hunting down those lion lords of the clan who were outside heaven governing their vassals.

Adolf’s father had joined the Lion System and was biased to favor you. In a way, he died because of you.

Kael: I see.

...

Kael didn’t know what to make of that last sentence. So he ignored it.

...

Kael: How bad is it?

Alora: Pretty bad. Everyone is getting impatient. Your lion system gives off a very faint but unique aura, those of us who support you and have joined the Lion System cannot hide.

The extinction of Adolf’s clan marked the beginning of conflict. The civil war has officially started.

And from the looks of it, it’s going to get more brutal than this.

...

Alora no longer spoke using one sentence when talking to Kael. She was now a bit more familiar with him and the way she spoke to him indicated that they were closer than before.

Not friends, but at least, there was no longer any hostility or that usual coldness.

On the contrary, Kael was the one who was usually cold to her with his responses.

....

Kael: Did their demise show any effect on the masses?

Alora: Yes, but not necessarily negative for both sides.

The Primordial Supporters and the Anti-Primordials did not back down. Instead, it seems like more Lion Kings are starting to pick sides.

I don’t know the full gist, I’m only telling you what I heard from a source that was close by when it happened.

Kael: Are you not in heaven?

Alora: No.

Kael: Where are you, I might need your obedience soon.

Alora: I’m still training. I have problems of my own that I need to handle. Unless you want me dead, I’d suggest you wait a bit before asking me for something.

Kael: Hmmm.

Alora: Please...

....

Kael smiled, he could almost feel the desperation through his chat texts. He wondered what she was doing that made her go so low as to say please.

...

Kael: Alert me as soon as you’re done or need help. That’s an order.

....

Kael didn’t want another one of his assets suddenly dying. If he had Exalon and other lions on standby, Adolf would have still been alive.

....

Alora: I won’t need it.

#####

In another galaxy,

On a medium-sized planet that was positioned far away from its star’s Goldilocks Zone.

His planet was freezing cold and white hail fell from the sky, being swished around by fierce winds.

At a wide mountain ridge, the mountain peaks of this place were all white as snow.

This place also had the tallest mountain on the whole planet.

The peak of the mountain was just a few kilometers away from breaking past the atmosphere.

*BOOM!*

A massive blue-scaled figure streaked through the sky and smashed into the side of the mountain.

Rocks were shattered and fell down, causing an avalanche. The blue scaled being roared with fury, raising its monstrous head to the sky and releasing a mighty roar.

It flapped its large bat-like wings, stabilizing itself in the sky as it faced its opponent.

Thousands of ice spears sped toward the blue dragon, tearing through the windy sky, all aiming to skewer the scaled beast.

With age and a desire for destruction, the dragon tapped into its unique power, opening its vicious jaws wide.

A compressed glowing beam of frost energy shot out from the base of its throat, colliding with the thousands of ice spears and shattering all of them into pieces.

However, the dragon momentarily lost his senses, allowing the ice blade to rise from below unhindered.

By the time the dragon realized and seized his dragon breath, it was already too late. The wide ice blade cut through the center of his left wing.

The dragon roared in pain as hit red blood spilled from the wound, dying the snow behind it red.

The dragon spewed more dragon breath, shooting its destructive beam of ice everywhere it could.

Still, the harsh wind and flying hail revealed no enemy.

Suddenly, a being smashed its way from the side of the mountain, bursting out from the ice and rocks behind the falling dragon.

It was Alora, in her pristine white lioness form.

Seeing the blue dragon falling from the sky and shooting his ice beams every which way, Alora immediately followed.

She jumped off the mountain, falling straight for the dragon.

Except, the dragon was still using its remaining wing to slow its landing while Alora was intentionally trying to fall faster. Within a few seconds, she caught up to the dragon.

In terms of body size, they were not too far apart.

The dragon raised its head up, having heard the sound of something falling despite the loud sound of the blowing wind.

Alas, he had met a professional hunter who had calculated as much as she could before making her move.

Alora opened her jaws wide, exposing her crystal clear fangs before sinking them into the neck of the dragon. Her sharp teeth easily pierced through the blue scales, soaking the fur around her maw with red blood.

Her crystal claws daggered the screaming dragon, providing her leverage as they both fell to the snowy ground.

*BOOM!*

The two fell, smashing through the soft snow and hitting the ground. The dragon’s body slammed into the jaggy ground, and a few bones were dislocated.

The dragon was dead, however, it didn’t die from the fall alone.

If one checked, they would notice that the brain of the dragon had turned into solid ice and had shattered as soon as the strong skull hit the ground.

Alora stood up, pressing her large paws on the body of the dead dragon. She looked around, acknowledging the massive snow crater their fall had created.

"Hmm," She wondered out loud, "This is the ninth dragon this year. Will they still send more?"
