CHAPTER 387: CHAPTER 387: REGENT

Power vibrated through the empty void, erupting from the heavenly portal and causing a lot of disturbance in space and time.

The power level of the being that had just crossed over into the main world was incredible.

The star closest to the heavenly portal was a large star, one that had a crushing gravitational pull and lit up the void for millions of light years.

This star was still billions of kilometers away from the active multicolored heavenly portal.

Yet, as this abomination flew out of the constraints of the portal, the star began to fluctuate.

And then, the impossible happened. The star actually dimmed its light as if it were afraid of this entity.

Unfortunately for the star, the speed of light wasn’t fast enough. Luckily, this entity did not care about the star’s little gimmick to save itself.

The being that had just crossed over was a massive black-scaled beast. It had four limbs like a dragon or a lion, each as wide as a pillar of heaven.

His body was covered in small diamond-shaped black scales that looked like scattered fur from afar. His head and neck, beyond the scales, were covered in a deep back mane that wrapped down to his broad and muscular chest.

When he flapped his two black bat-like wings, his body instantly shot forward thousands of kilometers in the blink of an eye.

Behind him, ten arkships cruised their way out of the heavenly portal behind. For some reason, they maintained a certain level of speed.

As fast as these arkships were, they refused to move closer to this abomination in front of them.

Then, the heavenly portal spanning thousands of kilometers in diameter collapsed, closing and shutting its door to the Dragonic Heaven.

The dragon-lion hybrid stopped, his body blending seamlessly with the dark emptiness of the vast space. No matter how clearly one looked at him, they couldn’t see the full outline of his body.

"Regent Ibadon," A powerful telepathic voice echoed through the emptiness of space.

The black ears of the dragon lion hybrid twitched softly and his pale red eyes shifted from one star to the other.

"Regent Ibadon,"

"I heard you the first time," Ibadon replied in a tone that was surprisingly mellow. The gentleness of his voice didn’t match the menacing image he projected.

"Regent Ibadon, it’s just that Empress Elizabeth specifically asked us to make sure you come inside,"

As the voice spoke, one of the arkships drew closer to the dragon-lion hybrid.

"Hmm, why?" Ibadon turned his massive body to face the ten distant arkships.

His eyes, pitch black with pale red dots in the middle, rested their gaze on the arkships.

His question, as ordinary as it sounded, carried a faint threatening tone that shook the person he was conversing with.

"Regent Ibadon, don’t take it like that. It’s just that Empress Elizabeth is worried about you. If you encounter an enemy that’s too strong, your injuries..."

"Enough, my injuries are healed. The sooner I find that Primordial Lion, the sooner we can return to heaven," Ibadon scolded.

It was somewhat weird. This was a being with monstrous power, huge horns, bone-like protrusions, and a suffocating aura. But he spoke very casually, which contrasted with his image.

Ibadon flapped his large wings, covering millions of kilometers and arriving at the center of the ten arkship formation.

He was too fast for the commanders of the vessels to react. As soon as they saw him, light burst from the edges of the disc-shaped machines as they moved away.

They were the ones who wanted him to come inside, but they were also afraid of getting close to him.

Ibadon ignored the antics of these moon-sized machines. He instantly appeared on top of one of the arkships. His massive paws pressed down on the metal surface and the whole arkship trembled slightly.

"I’m not coming inside, I’ll stay here," Ibadon said.

"Regent, where should we start from?" The telepathic voice asked.

Hearing the question, Ibadon’s eyes scanned the expanse of stars and galaxies.

"Our spies within haven’t found the Primordial Lion yet. And their heaven is on the brink of a civil war, we can’t wait for them to do what needs to be done.

Lions have a very sickening stench. As flawed and annoying as that stench is, it makes it easy for me to find them...*sniff*"

Ibadon took a big whiff of the empty void. His nostrils trembled as space and time twisted around them. Faint bits of lion aura flowed into his nose from impossible distances, crossing through space and time to get to Ibadon.

"We’ll take it one at a time. We’ll start from that star system over there," Ibadon declared.

Immediately he located their destination, the arkships started moving, traveling thousands of kilometers in an instant to get to where they wanted to go.

"Regent," The owner of the telepathic voice called, "What if we don’t find him, they might just be lying,"

Ibadon shook his head, "They’re not. I also felt the power pulse of the Primordial Lion. I just don’t know where it came from, it seems like he’s being protected or hidden.

Anyways, we’ll eventually find him. Even if we don’t find him immediately, we’ll eliminate the lions we find on the way.

There’s a joy in eliminating those cancers of the universe, you should enjoy it."

The owner of the telepathic voice didn’t respond to this. Agreeing with Ibadon’s weird logic was not a good idea, and openly disagreeing was also not a good idea.

If not for Ibadon, the war with the lions would have ended eons ago, and some secretly wished ill for the abomination.

"Regent, we may have to check up on a frozen planet outpost. Someone just told me about a disturbing situation there.

Apparently, something has been killing everyone who was sent to guard that outpost. No one has come back alive from that place for some time..."

Ibadon sat down on the metal surface and tucked his wings in, "No problem,"

As Ibadon sat there, watching the stars turn to beams of light as they passed them by, his thoughts wandered.

The gentleness remained in those pale red pupils but his heart burned with desire for revenge.

He would not feel satisfied until he wiped out every last lion from the universe. That feeling of loss he had when his mother and father died was made into an eternal cast that surrounded his heart and mind.

But for him to succeed in eliminating the lions, he must first remove everything that may stand in his way or cause him future trouble.

He had failed to eliminate Noel early and that mistake nearly cost him his life. He wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

"Go now! Search every corner of that galaxy!" Ma’abu commanded the hundreds of thousands of magic shuttles flying through the multicolored heavenly sky.

They all flew out through different heavenly portals. A few arkships followed from behind, escorted by more magic shuttles.

Down below, in Ma’abu’s continent, a shocking sight could be seen.

Ma’abu said tall and proud in his lion form, his dark mane flowing effortlessly from the waves of his aura.

This floating continent he was on didn’t belong to him. From the remains of the silver pyramid behind him, one could tell that this continent belonged to King Larvis.

This was the same continent Xu Ying and the rest had come to make their report immediately after escaping Eridoria.

A devastating battle had happened here.

Different auras of powerful lion kings could be felt coming from different locations. The land was in ruins, the forest patch behind the pyramid that had been maintained now burned to ashes.

The silver pyramid no longer stood tall. A large piece of its silver surface was missing and various claw marks decorated what was left of it.

Ahead, Ma’abu smiled with glee, exposing his long and sharp fangs to the world.

One of his front paws rested on the body of a grey-furred lion. It was King Larvis’s dead body.

His face had a fearful expression, as though he had experienced something horrible before he died.

The top half of his head was missing, along with the mane. Through the gap, one could see that a good chunk of his brain was also missing.

Not far away from Ma’abu and the dead King Larvis, two creatures gasped for breath as they rose to their feet.

They were the twins who had followed Xu Ying on that expedition.

"Your grandfather was foolish," Ma’abu said with a triumphant smile on his furry face.

"He should have just explained that he can no longer tell where he sensed that Heavenly Beacon aura from.

If he had just explained, all this would have been avoided.

Oh well, at least, now we know how to find the Primordial Lion," Ma’abu spoke with confidence.

Past, present, and future flashed through his eyes as he recalled the method he had tortured out of Larvis.

It wasn’t a sure method, but it was a good method.

"The Primordial Lion, how long does he think he can hide..."
