Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 576: Wei And Burdo
CHAPTER 576: CHAPTER 576: WEI AND BURDO
"Thank you Memphis," Burdo said as he bowed, his blue skin reflecting the glow from the multicolored sky.
They stood at the edge of Memphis’s continent as Burdo and his daughter prepared to board a magic shuttle.
"I just hope the All-King won’t protest against this," Memphis said as she glanced at the young lady now standing beside Burdo.
This was Wei, an individual formerly betrothed to Kael.
When this person came to her with her father, she was just a little girl.
Now she looked like a grown young woman.
Burdo had explained the situation to Memphis. He had told her how Kael had been the one to give Wei her name when she was born.
She had been given to Kael as his consort in training while she grew.
And then, suddenly, Kael just rejected for no reason.
He sent Wei away and revoked her title and her privileges, causing her to become like any other ordinary cub within the clan.
For the younger Wei of that time, this was a serious blow to her mental health.
It was like a child who had been born into a wealthy family, then all of a sudden, the parents lost all their wealth. The transition from one quality of life to another was serious.
Wei had understood most of what was happening but she also felt bad because she was powerless to influence anything that was happening to her.
She was smart enough to understand that she could still reclaim her title. At least, that was what Burdo had been feeding her mind since that time.
Wei had kept hope, every day, she wished to be like those aunties who could assist Kael and be close to him.
She did not understand the significance of the role and what she had to do to keep that role, but she understood its weight.
She thirsted for that experience once again.
But she had to wait, the All-King had talked about a consort trial that would allow her and others to be able to prove their worth to him.
There was no problem with this, after all, she would just have to use the time she had to keep on getting stronger so that she could have a better chance at securing that slot.
However, that dream was cut short when Kael and the princes moved to Leonine Heaven.
The competition here was fierce.
Although most lionesses behaved very nicely to Kael and those around him, they were very nasty and incredibly competitive toward each other.
All the lionesses who had not yet joined any pride were readying themselves to be one of the consorts of the Primordial Lion.
Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem.
A pride leader, especially a king, could have as many consorts as he could as long as he was smart enough to know how to manage them.
Although the average number of consorts for pride leaders was ten, some had more or fewer.
But this wasn’t the case with Kael, the All-King. The contesting lionesses quickly found out that the All-King was very intentional with the consorts he wanted to select.
He never selected more than one consort of the same lion type.
And the All-King confirmed it himself.
This meant that the opportunity to be Kael’s consort was very limited.
Water, Earth, Time, and those forbidden lionheart types were the only ones that were missing.
No one could describe just how fierce this competition was.
Burdo, seeing all the lionesses who had been born and had grown up in heaven, was unsure if his daughter would be able to match them with ferocity.
Subconsciously, he would compare Wei to the likes of Alora and N’bayé. Wei was still insignificant compared to them, there was nothing unique about her that set her apart from the rest of the other water lionesses.
Then the situation with all the conflicts and the recent activities that took the All-Kings’ time happened. Ma’abu showed his hand, greatly shocking everyone and leaving the kings in a bad mood.
A great warrior king had died sacrificing his life to save the Primordial Lion. Things were definitely not going to be calm for a long time, Burdo knew.
All of a sudden, Kael had declared that the consort trial would start within a month.
That was little time for Wei or anyone to prepare and they didn’t even know what the Consort Trial was going to be.
All hope for Wei seemed lost until they saw Ozia.
If they can remember, Ozia was supposed to be slightly younger than Wei. Wei was the oldest in their group back then.
Why was Ozia suddenly an adult all of a sudden?
Burdo took it upon himself to ask Ozia directly. Ozia could not keep it a secret forever. Many had already been asking him what had happened to cause him to be so big all of a sudden.
Ozia had trouble relating to his siblings besides Silas because of the change
Seeing that his uncle was asking, Ozia decided to be honest and keep his arrogance away for the meantime.
That was how Burdo learned that Ozia was now the mentee under Memphis.
He was instantly able to put two and two together.
Since there was now a glimpse of hope, Burdo made it his personal mission to see his daughter prepared for the consort trial.
Memphis’s continent was open to everyone for the time being since she herself was very busy and wasn’t always on the continent to oversee things like before.
So he made a visit to the ancient time lionesses to see if she could help him out the same way she helped Ozia.
Of course, Burdo was partly doing this because she was his daughter and he cared about her to an extent, but he was also doing it for power.
Having his daughter as a consort would solidify his position in the Ol-mytee Clan as a Lion Prince. Perhaps, with Wei as one of Kael’s consorts, he wouldn’t have to fear one of Kael’s sons suddenly having the guts to kick him away.
Thankfully, Memphis was not a hard person to talk to. Burdo had caught just when she was rounding up her time bubble session with Kael’s official consorts.
Memphis has agreed to help out Wei and provide her with a little boost that could only be gotten with time.
What Burdo and Wei did not know was that they had caused a curious and slightly harmful thought to enter Memphis’s mind.
A thought that might end up causing her to involve herself in the Consort Trial.
