CHAPTER 585: CHAPTER 585: FREEDOM!

*BAM!*

A muscular rat was blasted through a wall, causing the ceiling to crumble down and fall on him.

The large brown rat who had sent him flying turned his attention to his remaining three enemies while keeping his eyes on that fallen rat.

These days were not small at all. Each of them, when standing on their hind legs, were more than six feet tall.

The aura spilling out of each of them made it clear that each of them was at a power level that set them between a tier 3 and a tier 4 lion.

The rats had a different power system and because they started out a lot weaker than most creatures, their power system involved a lot of tiers.

These rats by their own logic would be at tier 6, but to a lion, they were not even as strong as a real tier 4 lion.

The tier 6 rank in the rats allowed them to hover on a power level between a tier 4 and a tier 3 Lion.

Currently, these rats would be considered one of the strongest existences on the planet.

This was because any rat that became slightly stronger would be reported to the lion clan and then they would be taken away.

Because of this, even the elites who could have evolved with the resources they had at their disposal never tried to do so.

They were so used to their subordinate state of life that they intentionally made themselves weak to maintain this lifestyle.

As these five rats fought, their auras and the shockwaves of their battles destroyed the metal structure and concrete walls used to hold up the whole skyscraper.

They streaked from one level to another, chasing their shadows and exchanging hundreds of blows every second.

"You dare resist the will of the royals!" A rat proclaimed as electricity streaked around his body.

He charged at the Primordial Rat, punching out with his sharp claws. Purple electricity shot out from his paws and eyes, striking the Primordial Rat and sending the latter flying through some walls.

This electric rat was not just any random elite, he was the Chief of Military Staff for the whole rat civilization on this planet.

He had been serving the military for years and had used his status to keep the rat population obedient and docile while the royals continuously took slave tributes.

He had been to heaven once and had seen a glimpse of the true might of the lion civilization.

He knew that even if the might of their single planet was multiplied by a millionfold, it still wouldn’t be able to stand against the disgusting power of the lions.

So he knew better than most elites that the battle that the Primordial Rat was fighting was completely pointless. It was for nothing.

In his eyes, the only thing the Primordial Rat was doing was putting all of them in trouble.

The elites were scared, they were all scared.

This Primordial Rat had come out of nowhere to put them in serious trouble.

Just because their lion overlords were silent all this while didn’t mean that they had not taken note of it.

It wasn’t like Lion clans were not experienced in dealing with this kind of rebellion. In fact, they tended to boast about ruthlessly crushing rebellions.

In most cases, then a rat world like this was so infected with the fever of a new revolution, the lions would wait for some time before swooping down and eliminating eighty percent of the population.

That was the best-case scenario.

Worst-case scenario, the whole planet would be receiving some serious makeover.

The lions would show no mercy to the resistors.

They would just use it as an excuse to cull the population of this world. Nothing more than simply removing some undesirable weeds.

The elites knew that if they could solve this issue by themselves, the lions would be lenient with them and even help them restore order.

But if the lions came and the world was still in chaos, they would not spare the elites.

A new order would be installed and these elites would not be part of it.

"YOU FOOL!" The Chief of Military Staff shouted, "You’ve doomed us all!"

Beside him, another rat rose out of the rubble, his body filled with muscles and killing intent. This was another top elite, the leader of the slave tribute process.

"This motherfucker! This son of a..." The slave tribute leader cursed but couldn’t find the right word to describe their opponent.

The Primordial Rat found his bearings and stood tall, his shiny brown fur rustling in the breeze that managed to make it into the building.

"Scum!" The Primordial Rat said, his voice sounding somewhat immature, "How can you enjoy your lives while your own race is being sold into slavery.

Do you even have a conscience?" The Primordial Rat asked with righteous fury.

He squeezed his paws into fists and his body vibrated.

"You don’t understand you idiot," The Slave Tribute leader said, "The world is much bigger than your pea brain can comprehend.

You think you’re a hero but you’re just dooming us all."

The Primordial Rat shook his head, "You’re wrong you corrupted bigot! As long as we are free, everything else is possible.

How can you endure such slavery? This isn’t life! This isn’t living.

If you won’t allow me to liberate our people, then I’ll do it over your dead bodies!"

With that, the Primordial Rat launched himself forward. The ground shattered and exploded behind him and a mysterious aura overcame his body.

He was finally using his powers again. These were the same powers that had allowed him to carry this rebellion all over the world with such effectiveness.

It was the base of his might.

The two elites had their auras explode from their bodies but their eyes carried worry.

Right before their eyes, the Primordial Rat split into two identical bodies.

It was exactly as he had described. The Primordial Rat seems to have cleaved his body into two clones.

And that was just the beginning, the Primordial Rat continued to multiply until there were six copies.

Six Primordial Rats rushed at the two elite rats, filling them with fear. It was already hard to fight against one, now they had to fight against six.

Just then, the last two elite rats recovered from whatever had happened to them and rushed back into the fight.

It was now six against four.

Now, the elite rats seemed like they were at a thorough disadvantage.

They fought their hardest and were backing away. Soon, they were focusing only on defense and were not able to deliver any attacks.

Claws strikes, slaps, and punches came from all sides. They were soon rid of their ability to escape.

As they were being pushed to the edge of the building where they would most likely face their death, the building began to shake.

What vexed the elite rats the most was that this Primordial Rat actually thought he was right and that he was making the world a better place.

He didn’t know that he was just making things a whole lot harder for everyone.

"Slavery is evil!" One of the Primordial Rat doppelgangers declared, "And evil will not prevail!"

From the way it was looking, the elite rats will soon be killed off.

Only then will a new order with freedom as the foundation be set. The rats will finally be free after millions of years of oppression.

The Primordial Rat was excited just thinking about it. He thought of how he would lead his race to explore the worlds and the stars beyond.

Maybe they would even be able to fight against those evil tyrants who had been oppressing them.

"Really?"

An impossibly deep and majestic voice bashed into the world in the form of a powerful shockwave.

The world went still and a golden hue overtook the whole sky.

Silence.

It was like a god had descended to join the realm and his mere presence was causing reality to bend.

"Slavery is evil?" The owner of the voice asked no one in particular.

The fight on this random level of the skyscraper had stopped all of a sudden.

The four top elites, beaten and battered, collapsed while breathing heavily. A golden shimmer of magic surrounded them, protecting them from the Primordial Rat and healing their wounds.

"How naive," Kael said.

A large chunk of the skyscraper was ripped out of the side, exposing the dark evening sky as well as three humanoid figures hovering in the air.

The six Primordial Rats turned their gazes away from the four fallen elites to stare at the three humanoid figures.

The Primordial Rat narrowed his eyes, feeling that things might be a bit troublesome a sudden.

Although he could feel a dangerous aura coming from all three figures, his eyes were inadvertently focused on the tall and intimidating figure in the middle.

"You..." The Primordial Rat muttered, feeling as if he were standing before his greatest nemesis.

Kael frowned when he noticed the way the Primordial Rat was looking at him.

"Stand down, Rat. Your king is here."
