CHAPTER 20 - 20: GREED 3

Vice eyes widen as he heard the pantig words

'It must have smelled the core when I opened my space' Vice took a step back but the pantig moved closer.

"I won't" Vice's heartbeat raced

"Oh do you think you can defy me and live? " as the pantig spoke Vice muscles tightened.

"I know you won't kill me" Vice took a few steps back.

"I won't, what make you think that?" The pantig moved closer as it licked its drooling mouth.

"Because if you kill me you'll never get the stone" Vice looked to the ground and closed his eyes, he knew that he could never outrun the pantig so now he stood wait for the unknown.

"I guess you're right" the panting walked to its tree.

Vice stood there suprised that his bluff worked, he turning to pantig then slowly approach it testing his luck.

"So about tomorrow are you coming?" Vice asked his hands trembling.

"Explain your plan if I'm convinced I'll come" the pantig looked at Vice

"Ok so the plan is...." Vice explained the details of the plan the was some back and forth but after a while they were able to agree on a plan

"Damn I'm soo tired" Vice was dregging his feet across the wet ground on his way home.

He could finally see his home, when he arrived he wanted to slam his body on the floor and go to sleep but he had things to do.

He pulled out the dungeon core from his storage and touched it to confirm something

[Teleport outside dungeon(yes/no)]

'I wander if it will work with the boss alive?, that evaluation thing isn't showing up' Vice chose yes but nothing happened.

"It won't work with him alive" Vice put the core in his shadow then dropped on the floor falling asleep.

"Yawn"

It was now morning Vice got up ate his leaves and went straight to where he was supposed to met the eagle's.

"It seems I'm not the first one here" The eagle's had arrived and he approached them.

"Did you get the information?" Vice asked looking up at Jo

"Yes the are six of them they are about to enter the core region, they have dealt with the wolves and the snake so they should be tired" Jo looked down at Vice

'What Rex and the wolves are dead?' as Vice head those word his heart sank

There was a moment of silence as mourned the vengeance that would never come

"Their ranks?" Vice asked

"Most of them seemed to be C-Rank" Jo spoke

"Ok then let's leave" Vice spoke to Jo who lowered his body letting Vice climb.

The eagles now flew to the edge of the core region.

They had arrived at edge of the core region and the eagles were now standing on a small clearing.

"You can leave now" Vice climbed down from Jo then as he was about to walk away.

"We are supposed to be attacking the human why should we leave?" Dex ask as he saw Vice was about to leave

"Yes, you will attack the human but not now, come find me when it night" Vice spoke as he walked to the tree's.

"Lord Comet said your not allowed to leave our side" Jo spoke stop Vice in his tracks

"Lord Comet must have told you that i need to take the human tools so do you think I can do it with you around?" Vice looked back at Jo

"....."

"Now leave" Vice spoke as he dashed into the forest

"What do we do now?" Dex asked his friends

"Let's go hunt" after Jo answered they flew away.

'I can't trust the information that guy gave me, I'll do the scouting myself' Vice thought as he walked to were the humans are supposed to be, he climbed a tree to get a better view of his surroundings.

"Squelch"

"Noo i got mud on my shoe's" Vice could hear a feminine voice so he ran to the source of the sound.

"I told you not to wear those shoe's in the rain" a man with scuffy beard spoke "it a miracle that you got this far in the rain with those high heels on"

"I head you the first time Raz and as i told you a lady must always look presentable" she spoke as she bent down to wipe the mud off her gold and silver kitten heels.

"Ok done lets keep moving" she stood up

The humans were heading to the core region

'Ok the are three warriors and three mages but where is the stealth expert' Vice looked around to see if the was any hidden members.

'The Associations made it mandatory to have an assassins or steath expert in a dungeon so you can detect an unwanted guest' Vice frowned as he remembered Association.

'It became difficult robbing dungeon when they made that mandatory' Vice was studying their every move.

So far what he knew one was a B-rank and the rest C-rank, Raz is B-Rank warrior, Lilith a healer, Rick a warrior, Jenny a mage, Jennifer a mage and Lorenzo a warrior.

'that Lorenzo guy is hiding something' Vice had watched the group get involved in small fights and Lorenzo seemed to be holding back so he found him suspicious.

"guys that rat has been following us for a while" Lorenzo spoke he pointed to the branch Vice was on

"Just ignore that ugly thing" Lilith spoke not even looking at the tree

"Yeah did you see it, that thing is hideous" Jenny spoke while everyone nodded.

A tear dropped from Vice's right eye as he heard those words, what made him cry was he remembered all the time's he saw his reflection in the lake, the sight made him angry and some times sad because of that he had long given up on love.

"Ok let camp hear we'll move at night" Raz spoke as he took out some camping equipment from his pouch

'Ok time to make my move' Vice watched them set up camp they had already cleared out the monsters in this area so they didn't even bother to set up watch.

Vice descended down the tree, then he waited for them to enter their tents.

The were four tents one belonged to Raz and Lilith the other to Rick and Jennifer the others had their own tent.
