Vice's Pov

The moment I stepped out of the treasure room, I tried to stab Nate only to see he had a shield to protect himself. I was a little disappointed but it only slowed down his death.

So I assessed the threats around me and currently the highest threat was Donald because of his time based ability, In a fight Donald could freeze anyone in place and then he would attack who ever was frozen. Out of all the B-Rank hunter's here he die's first.

"Now let's have some fun" after stabbing Donald in the neck I looked for my next target and my eye's landed on Joe the group swordsman who hadn't drawn his sword

[Lightning strike] lightning coming for me I threw Donald who was holding his neck trying to slow down the blood loss, in front of the attack, his body was fried in a second.

"Nate how could you kill your friend with such ease?" I spoke in a sarcastic tone.

"Tsk" Nate clicked his tongue to my question.

As I was about to move to Joe I saw him and Zoe holding scrolls, specifically teleportation scrolls they tore their scrolls and instantly vanished.

"We'll be waiting outside with the enforcers motherfucker!" my eye's moved to Nate, he was holding a scroll and had a big smile on his face he tore the scroll and vanished.

"Fuuuck!!!" I screamed in rage but I didn't have time to waste on emotional outbursts, I took out the teleportation scroll I had brought early and tore it as fast as I can.

I had to catch up with those motherfuck's before they could get any type of back up and since the S-Rank hunters were all in the dungeon I might have a chance of escaping this city.

I vanished from the corridor and reappeared where I could see Nate's shocked face but the shock wasn't from seeing me, I looked where he was looking and saw sight that made my spine shiver.

"plz don't AAAAH!!!" Livby was getting his arm ripped out of its socket it was a horrible sight to behold the other hunters were beaten to the point that some of their bone's were visible sticking out and some bones were bent in unnatural ways. Leo and Robin were barely alive groaning in pain on the floor.

"Oh some new toys" the queen looked at us and spoke in a condescending tone then return to play with her toy Livby.

I didn't have time to wast on this madness I looked at Nate who still had a shield around him. I moved toward him to strike, [Shadow fighter] I made a downward vertical inclined slash through the air with my dagger hitting nothing.

Shadow fighter: Caster does not need to make physical contact with target inflict harm as long as the caster shadow make's contact with targets shadow the attack will reflect in reality bypassing any type of physical defence.

"AAAH!"

Although I didn't hit anything, my shadow hit it's mark the only problem was that Joe got in its way trying to block the attack and lost his left arm, Nate got slash on the front side of his body.

The attack was supposed to be lethal but due to Joe's interference it only gave Nate a scar instead of parting his body into two pieces.

My skill was now on cooldown, seeing this I decided to kill Joe now while he still injured when I was about to make my move I saw a ball of mana coming for my face I jumped back to avoid it.

Zoe had just cast [Mana ball] to protect her brother "what's wrong with you don't you see that monster is going to kill us once she's done with Livby!" She spoke indicating to the queen who was breaking Livby bone's

"And so" I responded I had no interest in working with them to face the queen and I had an S-Rank teleportation scroll I found in the treasure room to leave this place.

The walls were still intact dispite SS-Rank hunter's fighting it made it obvious that the walls were magically reinforced thats why my A-Rank scroll failed to teleport me out of the dungeon but I'm confident that an S-Rank scroll could get me out of here.

Nate seemed to understand that I had no interest in working with them to survive this place then he looked to the queen.

"Your majesty this man stole all of your treasure!" He screamed as he pointed to me informing the queen about our heist.

'WTF' I thought as I looked at this snitch but what did I expect from a traitor.

"That's not possib..." the queen spoke with a face that was full of joy but suddenly turned expressionless she glared at me and then I felt massive amount of pressure on me, this pressure made the thing Livby did seem like a joke.

I fell on my butt the pressure was too massive that I could not stand so I reached into my shadow space to take out the scroll but what I took out was that stupid book I found in the treasure room, then I felt the pressure double after I accidentally took out the book.

"Drip"

'!' blood dripped from my noise and it fell on that stupid book.

"The fact that you have that book in your hand means you stole my treasure" before I could register what she was saying a hole appeared on my chest I didn't see any attack, didn't hear her cast a spell the hole was just there that only means that the attack was too fast for someone of my rank to even comprehend.

'When?' Was the only thought I had as blood flowed out of the hole some landed on that damned book, I looked around to see what happened to Nate and the others.

I could see that they had gathered behind queen who was focused only on me to see them, Zoe was holding a teleportation scroll same as the S-Rank one I got from the queen treasure.

I wanted to tell the queen about them so we could all die here but she knew she just didn't care I was her only goal

As they vanished I had bitter smile on my face it amused me to see how I was used to distract the queen for their escape nothing but pawn for their purpose.

The queen started to move toward me, I wanted to beg for help but the was no one to beg, l wanted to ask for mercy but she had already put a hole in my chest so I sat there wait for death to come.

The only thing that made me happy was that I was going to die with the treasure they all wanted but when the queen reached my feet she did the impossible.

She bent down her hand went into my shadow and then she started to take out the treasure from my shadow space.

'I don't even get to keep the treasure now that's cruel' I thought as I tried to resist the pull of death.

"DO YOU WANT VENGEANCE" I heard a voice in my head but the was no one in the room, it felt ancient and yet it felt profound.

The only other person in this room was the queen and she was too focused on getting her treasure out of my shadow to chat with me. So I assumed the voice was the madness of a dying man.

"DO YOU WANT VENGEANCE?" I heard the voice again in my mind but didn't answer, I did wondered how much did I want vengeance that I was willing to create an imaginary voice that offered vengeance.

"DO YOU WANT VENGEANCE?" the voice again spoke, so I decided to entertain it as I sit hear dying.

'what do you want' I thought since it can speak into my mind it must be able to read my thoughts if directed at it.

"ENTERTAINMENT" I was surprised that it answers back but I didn't like the response it gave, it made my struggle's seem as if they were nothing but entertainment.

"DO YOU WANT VENGEANCE?" it spoke again.

"No" I had no interest in being pawn for its entertainment, I've always prided myself on my freedom even if someone gave me all of my dreams I would never give it away.

"WHY?" It asked

"I do not want to be a pawn to anyone, even if I'll never get justice or revenge I want... I am content with death" I replied my eyelids felt heavy after fighting for soo long I shut them.

As I shut my eyes and lost my conscience the last thing I head was "THE CRUEL THING ABOUT BEING WEAK IS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER" it spoke
