Reincarnated As A Wonderkid
Chapter 45: The League Match
Leon Fischer stood in the tunnel preparing for battle. Chelsea.
Another chance to prove himself.
The opposing lineup shimmered in his 'sight'.
Enzo Fernández (Potential: 89, Current: 87), Chelsea's midfield maestro, already looked poised to dictate play.
Raheem Sterling (Potential: 88, Current: 86), a blur of potential speed. Reece James (Potential: 90, Current: 88), a powerhouse on the right flank.
Nicolas Jackson (Potential: 87, Current: 84), a young, explosive striker. This was going to be a chess match, a dance of skill and strategy.
The referee's whistle shrieked.
KICKOFF!
The game ignited instantly.
Chelsea, known for their quick transitions, surged forward. Leon found himself immediately in a midfield duel with Enzo Fernández.
Leon's 'sight' flared, showing him the ghostly 'body shift' and 'arc' of Fernández's intended pass to Raheem Sterling. Leon anticipated, intercepting the ball with a clean tackle.
COMMENTATOR: "What an early statement from Leon Fischer! He reads the play like a book, stealing the ball from Enzo Fernández in midfield! Brilliant!"
Leon didn't hesitate. He looked up, seeing Ollie Watkins (Current: 86) making a darting run into space.
He saw the 'ghosted outstretched boot' from Thiago Silva (Potential: 89, Current: 87), indicating a block if he tried the obvious through ball. Instead, Leon hit a clever, disguised pass to John McGinn (Current: 84) who then immediately flicked it to Watkins, bypassing Silva's intended interception.
WHOOSH!
Watkins was through on goal! He took a touch, then fired.
BOOM!
The ball hammered into the back of the net!
GOOOAL! - ASTON VILLA 1 - Chelsea 0!
Villa Park erupted into an absolute frenzy! The roar was deafening, a wave of pure elation.
Leon ran to celebrate with Watkins and McGinn.
That was fast! First goal in the first five minutes!
Chelsea, stung by the early goal, roared back.
Enzo Fernández (Current: 87) seemed to switch gears.
Leon found himself in a tactical battle, his 'sight' predicting every feint, every pass from the Chelsea midfielder.
He saw a 'leg-and-ball' projection from Raheem Sterling (Current: 86), a powerful shot coming from outside the box. Leon slid in, blocking the shot, sending it wide for a corner.
THWACK!
The ball thudded against his leg, a familiar ache, but a successful block.
From the resulting corner, Chelsea equalized. Leon saw the 'ghosted head' projection of Nicolas Jackson (Current: 84), rising above the Villa defense.
He screamed a warning, but Jackson's header was powerful, leaving Emiliano Martínez (Current: 85) with no chance.
GOOOAL! - ASTON VILLA 1 - Chelsea 1!
The tension ratcheted up. The game became an end-to-end affair.
Leon continued to use his 'sight' to break up Chelsea's attacks. He anticipated a 'short pass' from Mykhailo Mudryk (Potential: 88, Current: 84) to Ben Chilwell (Potential: 87, Current: 85), cutting it off and launching a counter-attack.
Around the 30th minute, Villa won a free-kick just outside the box. John McGinn stepped up.
Leon saw the 'leg-and-ball' projection from McGinn, aiming for the top corner, but he also saw a faint 'glove' projection from Chelsea's goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez (Potential: 87, Current: 85), showing he'd make the save.
Leon ran up to McGinn. "Top corner, John, but a bit more curl, closer to the post! Sanchez is anticipating."
McGinn looked at him, surprised, but nodded. He adjusted his stance slightly.
WHISTLE!
He struck the ball.
The ball soared, curled beautifully, kissed the inside of the post, and hit the back of the net!
GOOOAL!
"...."
ASTON VILLA 2 - Chelsea 1!
Villa Park erupted! McGinn ran to Leon, grinning.
"How did you know?! You read his mind, Leo!"
Leon just laughed, a thrilling surge of power running through him.
"Just saw the gap, John! Saw the gap!" His 'Current' rating nudged up to 82!
But Chelsea, a team of champions, refused to yield. They pressed harder, their passes sharper. Raheem Sterling (Current: 86) received the ball on the wing, dribbled past two defenders, his movements a blur.
Leon's 'sight' showed a faint 'leg-and-ball' projection for a cross, aimed at Nicolas Jackson.
Leon sprinted, attempting to intercept, but Sterling's speed was immense.
The cross came in, low and dangerous. Jackson met it with a powerful shot that flew past Martínez.
GOOOAL! ASTON VILLA 2 - Chelsea 2!
The first half ended 2-2. What a game! The dressing room was a mix of adrenaline and frustration. Coach Emery was animated.
"We are playing well! But we must be ruthless! Every chance, we take it!" He looked at Leon, a rare, appreciative smile. "Fischer, you are dictating. Keep it up."
The second half began with renewed intensity.
Both teams pushed for the lead. Leon, fueled by hitting the '82' Current mark, felt invincible.
He was everywhere, intercepting passes, launching attacks. He saw a 'ghosted outstretched leg' from Conor Gallagher (Potential: 87, Current: 85), indicating a tackle.
Leon quickly changed direction, dribbling past him, then another Chelsea midfielder, Mykhailo Mudryk (Current: 84), whose 'body feint' Leon also predicted, leaving him flat-footed.
Leon surged into the final third. He saw Ollie Watkins (Current: 86) making a run.
He hit a precise through ball, slicing through Chelsea's defense. Watkins was one-on-one with Robert Sanchez (Current: 85).
WHOOSH! Watkins fired!
PING! The ball hit the post! Agony!
But the rebound fell to Leon Bailey (Current: 84) who had followed up the play. Bailey calmly tapped it in!

The roar from Villa Park was deafening! Leon ran to celebrate, his heart pounding with joy.
They were back in the lead!
Chelsea immediately countered. Enzo Fernández (Current: 87) received the ball..
He unleashed a powerful long-range shot. Leon's 'sight' showed the 'leg-and-ball' projection, aimed for the top corner.
Leon lunged, stretching, his fingertips just deflecting the ball over the bar. FINGERTIP SAVE!
From the resulting corner, Chelsea equalized again! Thiago Silva (Current: 87) rose highest, his 'ghosted head' visible to Leon, but the ball was too powerful, too close.
The header slammed into the net.
GOOOAL! ASTON VILLA 3 - Chelsea 3!
Three-three! This was a classic! The final ten minutes were pure chaos.
Both teams went for the winner. Leon, utterly exhausted, relied solely on his 'sight'.
He saw 'leg-and-ball' projections, 'outstretched legs', 'arcing passes', 'body feints' – a dizzying array of predictions.
In the 88th minute, Aston Villa won a free-kick deep in their own half.
The ball was played short to Douglas Luiz (Current: 85).
Luiz looked up, and Leon saw a faint, complex series of projections above him: a long, diagonal pass, followed by a 'ghosted run' from Ollie Watkins, splitting the Chelsea defense.
Luiz hit a magnificent long ball, a cross-field pass that traveled almost the length of the pitch, perfectly weighted. It landed exactly at Ollie Watkins's feet, who had perfectly timed his run to beat the offside trap. Watkins was clean through, one-on-one with Sanchez (Current: 85).
"Ollie Watkins is in! It's a magnificent ball from Douglas Luiz! Watkins through... this could be the winner!!"
Watkins composed himself, and Leon saw the 'leg-and-ball' projection for a powerful shot to the far corner. But then, Leon also saw a slight 'body lean' from Sanchez, anticipating the power.
Leon, acting purely on instinct, screamed: "Ollie! Little chip! Chip it!"
Watkins, hearing Leon's urgent shout, surprised everyone. Instead of powering it, he gently chipped the ball over the onrushing Sanchez, a delicate, audacious finish.
swiiiich
The ball floated, in slow motion, over the goalkeeper and dropped perfectly into the net!
GOOOAL!
- ASTON VILLA 4 - Chelsea 3!
Villa Park exploded, a seismic roar of pure, unadulterated ecstasy! Leon collapsed onto the pitch, a wave of exhaustion and triumph washing over him.
Four-three! They had done it! They had beaten Chelsea in a thrilling, high-scoring encounter! His 'Current' rating felt like it was glowing, settling at a new high of 83.
But the drama wasn't over. In the 92nd minute, Chelsea launched one final attack.
Raheem Sterling (Current: 86) received the ball on the wing, his 'Current' pulsing with desperation. Leon saw the 'body feint', the 'arc' for a cross, heading towards Enzo Fernández in the box.
Leon sprinted, putting everything he had left into it.
He knew he was too far to intercept the cross directly. But then, he saw a fleeting, ghostly 'leg-and-ball' projection above Enzo Fernández, indicating a shot.
And then, another, a tiny, almost imperceptible 'flick' of the ball, changing its trajectory at the last second, a subtle touch that would deceive Martínez.
Leon had one last, desperate idea. He launched himself, not at the ball, but directly into the path of Enzo Fernández. It was a risky, all-or-nothing block. Fernández, surprised by Leon's sudden charge, panicked.
His shot, instead of being a clean strike, was hurried, hitting Leon's outstretched leg.
THWACK! The ball deflected wildly.
The final whistle blew! Aston Villa had won 4-3!
Leon lay on the ground, breathless, pain shooting through his leg, but a triumphant grin on his face.
He had saved the goal! His 'Current' rating, having pushed to its absolute limit, settled at a magnificent 83.
