CHAPTER 226: THE THREE JEALOUS TRIPLETS

Third floor.

red-faced, red-necked man was holding a knife and shouting loudly on the third floor.

"This doctor claimed that he could cure my father. But what happened? He amputated my father’s limb!"

The man pointed the knife at the doctor and nurse in front of him.

This hospital was one of the best in Hiltonan. Those who came here were either wealthy or influential. The doctors and nurses here were also some of the best in their field.

This was a rare occurrence. The knife in the man’s hands caused temporary chaos to reign among the crowd.

The nurse to explain the situation to the man, "Your father’s leg was severely damaged and the illness had extended to the inside of his ankle. If you had allowed him to be treated earlier and to have surgery, we could have replaced part of his skeleton and cured him. But you refused to sign the papers and continuously questioned our treatment plan. You demanded for him to be released from hospital. Now that the situation has worsened, only amputation could save his life."

"You signed the papers before the amputation," the doctor added, "why can’t you accept what happened?"

"I don’t care!" the man shouted.

The man’s wife stood behind him.

She held several photos in her hands and had tears streaming down her face as she pleaded with the onlookers.

In the photo, an old man lay on a bed with a leg missing. Pain and heartbreak were written clearly across his face.

"Everyone, take a look. This is what my father-in -law looks like now! Tell me how this is fair. We’ve spent so much money to treat him and he ended up being a cripple! What a scam hospital! Give us our money back!"

Among the crowd, some were trying to dissuade the man from doing any impulsive while others quietly questioned his claims. However, no one dared to confront him directly.

After all, he had a knife in his hand.

No one wanted to involve themselves before security and police arrived.

The man waved the knife as he approached the doctor and nurse.

Abruptly, a spasm of pain flashed across his face. His left leg weakened and he almost fell to the floor.

After regaining his balance, he looked beside him and saw a child standing there with a serious and indignant expression!

Even more surprisingly, the child was planted in a steady pose and still had one fist outstretched in a punching pose.

This scene stunned all the onlookers.

The adults had all shied away yet the boy was posed like a martial hero from Shaolin and was staring at the man with hatred.

It was Jimmy who had struck the man. His fist had landed on the man’s knee and had almost made him fall.

However, Jim was still young and, despite his training, was unable to subdue the man.

"Who is this little fuking son of bitch?" The man kicked out angrily and caught Jim in the chest.

Even though Jim managed to deflect the blow with crossed arms, he still fell backward onto the ground.

Jimmy had always been an impulsive child. Now he was like an enraged bull as he panted and stared viciously at the man.

Andy finally squeezed through the crowd and saw Jimmy being kicked to the floor.

"How dare you hit my brother! I’m going to kill you!" Andy shouted as he placed himself in front of Jimmy and stared at the man with disgust.

The man hadn’t expected the appearance of two young boys and waved the knife at them in a threatening manner.

"If you want to live, get lost!"

Andy helped Jimmy get to his feet and shouted, "You ugly man! The doctor already said that it was you who delayed the treatment and caused your father to be like this. And now you want to cheat the hospital of their money. Not only is your face ugly, your heart is ugly too! You’ll get your comeuppance when my dad gets here!"

"Fuck off!" The man roared, seemingly intending to pick a fight with Andy.

At this moment, Tommy managed to force his way out of the crowd.

His eyes as charming as Yvonne’s instantly swept around the scene.

Although he’d been absent a moment ago, he’d heard what happened.

Tommy’s eyes roved around their sockets and then he made his way to the side of Andy and, looking at the furious man, said, "My father said a man is supposed to make his wife smile!"

"Is she your wife?" he asked, pointing to the man’s wife.

At the sight of Tommy, Andy’s face registered surprised and with that he promptly made an attempt to add fuel to the man’s rage. "That’s right! You made your wife cry, freak!"

The man was in fury, but as Tommy suddenly changed the topic, his mind had not accepted what he was hearing. He was still standing where he was, panting heavily.

"Get out! Get out of my sight!"

Tommy immediately changed the subject. "Hey, let me ask you something. If it were your wife whose leg was wounded, would you take her to see a doctor?"

The man thought that if he answered in the affirmative, it would be contradictory to his previous refusal to get his father medical treatment. Therefore, after a second’s hesitation, he answered, "I wouldn’t bring her to this hospital... "

Unexpectedly, before the man could finish his sentence, Tommy immediately said to the man’s wife aloud, "Did you hear that? Your husband just said he wouldn’t take you to see a doctor if you’re sick!"

"That’s right! Did you hear him? Your husband wants you dead!" Andy echoed aloud. "Your husband just said he wouldn’t take you to a hospital! He’d rather let you die of illness!"

It was very noisy on the scene, and the man’s wife, weeping amid the throng, failed to hear their conversation clearly. She just vaguely heard her husband utter the words "wouldn’t bring her to this hospital".

Having been kicking up a stink in the hospital for a whole day, the man’s wife was tired. Moreover, her father- in-law’s medical bills had been depleting their savings, and she had been unhappy about it for quite some time. She had agreed to come to this hospital to make a scene because she and her husband wanted to blackmail the hospital into giving them some money.

On hearing that her husband wouldn’t take her to a hospital if she fell ill, she instantly flew into a temper and huffed, "What?! What did you just say?!"

The man hurriedly explained loudly to his wife, "I will get you medical treatment! I’ll take you to another hospital!"

However, by this time, his wife had lost her cool completely.

"Everybody knows this hospital is the most expensive and the best. Why is it that your father can receive medical treatment here but I can’t? Is it because you begrudge the money?!"

Having noticed that the situation was getting troublesome, the man found himself unable to collect his thoughts. It had never crossed his mind that his wife would turn against him at this point in time.

"I never said that! What’s wrong with this hospital? I’ll take you to another one that’s just as good!"

Tommy promptly chipped in and shouted to the man’s wife, "Didn’t you guys just say that this hospital’s full of frauds?" The quick -witted boy immediately looked at the woman and added, "Your husband just said he’d take you to another hospital that’s just as good, which means your legs would be amputated!"

Andy agreed, "That’s right. Do you think your husband wants to send you to a hospital full of swindlers and let them amputate your legs so that he’d be able to kick up a stink to get money from the doctors?!"

Surprisingly, the two boys instantly perceived the fundamental nature of the matter, and their words tapped into the man’s wife’s pain.

The man’s wife stormed up to him, This time, she was really crying. "You heartless son of a bitch!

"I should have seen this coming sooner. You care about nothing but money! You lost all our savings at the gambling table, and you even begrudge the money you spent to cover your father’s medical expenses! Afterward, it was when he’s dying that you used my dowry and my parents’ hard-earned money to get him an amputation!"

The instant the truth was revealed, a ripple of astonishment spread across the throng.

His wife had said everything. What else could he say to explain?

But the three boys were oblivious of the danger.

Tommy and Andy were waving at the doctors and the nurses vigorously, telling them to leave as soon as possible.

After all, there was risk involved when a patient’s family was kicking up a stink in a hospital.

The three of them had been born when the world was haunted by an epidemic.

It had been countless doctors and nurses that had saved mankind from the epidemic.

People wouldn’t have been living such a happy life were it not for the medical staff’s efforts. Therefore, in the three boys’ opinions, nurses and doctors were lifesavers. They were the hope of mankind.

The three boys had it drummed into them that a doctor needed their hands to treat patients, and that if a doctor was wounded and unable to perform a surgery, it would be a great loss of not only the doctor but also all patients!

The couple of nurses hurriedly whisked the doctor away, but unexpectedly, at the sight of that scene, the psychopathic man lost his cool completely.

He turned his head to eye the three children fiercely, and all his anger was suddenly directed against the boys!

"I’ve lost the money, and I’m unable to pay off my debt. I would rather go to jail than be chased by my creditors!

"If I can’t have a life, neither can you people!"

The man lost his mind completely and started hacking like a madman!

At the sight of it, the doctors and nurses immediately doubled back to rescue the boys.

But the situation was out of control. The lookers-on fled in all directions helter-skelter. The doctors and nurses tried to push their way through, but it was too late.

Tommy and Andy were at the front.

Yvonne arrived in haste and saw such a scene.

"No!"

The next second, Yvonne saw the lunatic thrust his knife at Andy’s eye!

Jimmy, who had just been pulled to his feet by Andy, also lunged at the man. He had good reflexes and instantly grabbed the man’s leg!

But he was only a child. The man broke free from his hold only a second later. The man’s knife went down and was about to sink into Andy’s eye!

Jimmy, heedless of the danger, lunged at the man and gripped his leg again, but the man once again kicked him aside.

"Watch out! Andy!"
