Since Master Emilia was already pushing herself and training hard since early morning, as her first and only dear companion beast, Mimi couldn’t possibly allow herself to slack off!

She let out a low, serious meow to pump herself up. Even her tail stood tall with resolve.

But... there was a problem.

Where should she even start?

Or rather, how the heck was a Noctifelis supposed to train to get stronger?

For humans, it was straightforward. They could hit the gym, swing a sword, practice magic, or even spar with each other. But Mimi? She was just a small black cat, barely the size of a loaf of bread, and couldn’t even hold a stick because she lacked a thump.

Thus, what was she supposed to do now to train? Climb trees? Bust her furry ass and run a hundred laps around the mansion courtyard? Maybe practice her hunting skills on poor, unsuspecting butterflies?

"Mehh..." she groaned, plopping down dramatically, her tail thumping the floor in thought.

Then—ding!—a thought struck her.

Oh right! I have the daily missions!

Yeah, daily missions. Even though most of them were absolute ass, they were at least something. And who knew—maybe today’s mission and reward would actually be decent!

With that hope in her heart, Mimi raised her paw and, with a flourish, pulled down her mission board from her imaginary system.

Yes! Sometimes, these random upgrades happen. The system would throw you a curveball: a harder mission, but with better rewards. The chance was crazy rare, so whenever it appeared, you had to snatch it up immediately!

However...

The rewards still sucked, though. Totally not worth the effort.

But... well... scratching the couch was fun. And at least it wasn’t something disgusting like eating cockroaches!

So yeah. Easy choice. She was in.

"YES!" Mimi meowed.

And then, just as she arrived at the couch...

She stretched long and low, arching her back like a bow, loosening her muscles, her tail twitching in anticipation.

Then—shing!

On her command, her claws extended with a deadly snikt! gleam, glinting dangerously in the sunlight like tiny daggers of doom.

Mwahahaha! Couch, your end has come!

And with that, Mimi launched her furious assault!

She scratched and scratched! Scratching with all her might, clawing, ripping, shredding! Fluff and fabric flew everywhere as the once-proud couch fell victim to the tiny terror’s relentless, gleeful onslaught.

Moments later, she was almost done!

The floor had become a battlefield of fluff, fabric, and shredded threads—evidence of the massacre that had befallen the poor couch.

"Waaaah! That felt so good!" Mimi purred, smiling contentedly, her little chest puffed up with pride. She was only a few scratches away from completing her first daily quest of the day, and she was feeling unstoppable.

Now she truly understood why cats were so addicted to scratching furniture, curtains, and random human belongings.

Because it felt amazing!

Every swipe of her claws sent a delicious shiver racing down her spine, as if her very soul whispered: Yes... this is what I was born to do!

The resistance of the couch against her claws only made each strike more satisfying, like slicing through destiny itself. And oh, the sound—rrrttt! RRRtttt! RRRRrrrttttt!—each rip was like music to her ears. It was so therapeutic, so addictive, and so damn glorious!

Her paws tingled with pleasure, her muscles loosened, even her whiskers quivered with joy. This wasn’t just scratching, it was art, it was battle, it was life!

Oh my, cats surely are creatures of destruction aren’t they?

And then... came the grand finale.

Mimi raised her paw high, her amethyst eyes narrowing with fierce determination.

Then—SLASHHH!!

She slashed all her might, unleashing a devastating claw attack that tore deep into the helpless couch!

Then she headbutted it for no reason!

Fluff exploded upward in a glorious shower, drifting and tumbling down like tiny snowflakes of victory.

"Nyahahahaha!" Mimi laughed triumphantly.

The quest was complete!

"Alright, fine! Onto the next mission!" she declared. Her whiskers twitched.

"But if it’s something gross like eating a cockroach again... I swear, I’m abandoning it! I’ll just climb trees or run laps around the mansion instead. At least that won’t make me puke!"

The new mission appeared. Mimi froze, her eyes widening.
