Reincarnated in a depressing erotic world but living a normal life (right?)
Concern from another perspective
"Good morning, class."
The professor's monotonous voice echoed through the classroom, just like every Monday morning. My eyes, hidden behind the glasses of my "model student with a good GPA" disguise, barely moved. At this academy, the prestigious Carmilla, being discreet wasn't just a preference; it was the only way to survive. And I, Ken, knew that better than anyone. Ever since Mireya's "last will" became public, I've had to hone my disguise and presence-concealing abilities to a level worthy of a ninja master.
That damned "last will" has prematurely aged me with the "tragic" message left by that "thing," which basically boils down to a simple: "I'll drag you with me to the depths of hell until you give me your friendship," or at least that's what it seems like to me.
"I am pleased to announce that one of the students who were hospitalized the other night has finally been discharged and returned to class today."
(Murmurs in the class)
A girl in the front row raised her hand enthusiastically, her voice shrill.
"Professor, are you referring to the Silver Princess, the noble Mireya?"
The professor shook his head at her question, adjusting his glasses.
"I'm afraid not, young Mireya has not fully recovered yet. I'm referring to young Fionn. His condition was less severe than the others', so he was able to be discharged."
Fionn, huh. The same night Mireya was admitted to the hospital, he and several members of his club also ended up there, severely. My throat went a little dry thinking about it. No matter how well I hide, the abnormality of this world and the crazy faction of the Silver Princess, one of the four dominant factions of the academy alongside those of the Golden Princess, the Jet Princess, and the Amber Princess, kept reminding me that I was in their crosshairs.
My Trap Analysis ability, the same one that revealed the EX (infinite) status of Mireya's maid, Sara, or the death immunity of his "sister" Susie, had become useless against Mireya. The last thing it showed me before total nullification was a series of disturbing titles and an unbearable pain that left me trembling for days. Now, with the recent expansion of his family combined with my inability to uncover his possible recent evolution or what he's planning, given that "something" is preventing me from seeing those details, I could only rely on my paranoia as my sole compass.
The murmurs continued, some lamenting Mireya's absence, others commenting on the "bad luck" of those hospitalized. But I only had one thought: Fionn. If he was involved in something with Mireya, my ability might reveal it. Perhaps, if I analyze him, I can find out if all this is truly a side effect of Mireya's "illness" or if it was something more.
As soon as the lunch bell rang, I moved discreetly. I avoided the main hallways, camouflaged myself among the mass of students, dodging potential "hunters" from the Princess's faction. It was an extensive search through the spacious academy, but I finally found him. Fionn was in a secluded corner, talking with his club's tutor. I pretended to read a nearby book, my gaze fixed on the pages while my brain processed the information, preparing myself.
(Analyzing...)
I, Ken, the ex-hero from another world with zero presence, just wanted to go unnoticed until my inevitable second summoning. But in this academy, where even my classmates could be ninjas or lycanthropes, being a "mob extra" was a full-time job. And surviving the stalking of the "Silver Princess" and her growing horrors was the biggest challenge of my life.
...Or so I thought until I witnessed this status.
[Name: Fionn]
[Class: Hero]
[Race: Human]
Strength: E+
Durability: D-
Agility: D+
Dexterity: D
Intelligence: D-
Speed: E
Weapons: ([Sword of Damocles]), ([Runes])
Skills: [Alpha Rune], [Sword Mastery], [Hand-to-Hand Combat]
Titles: [The Last Survivor], [Remnant of the Final Evil], [Fragmented Memories], [?????? (Damaged/Illegible)]
Abnormal Status: [Amnesia]
My eyes widened.
"Class: Hero?"
And those titles? [The Last Survivor], [Remnant of the Final Evil]... The book in my hands almost fell, hitting the floor with a dull thud that no one seemed to notice. My mind went blank for a second, then was assaulted by a wave of icy disbelief and absolute surprise.
Being a hero is extremely rare, even when I was transported to another world to play the role of a hero, analysis, I never fully considered myself a hero, having barely achieved that class after years of battles and suffering in the other world.
".... And yet... He is a hero?"
This was... too much. Worse than any zombie or vampire. It was an anomaly that hit close to home, a puzzle piece that shouldn't exist. My own memories of my previous life as a hero, my fatal encounter with the Lust Demon King, all of it flashed before my eyes. This boy, Fionn, with amnesia and those runes... what the hell had happened to him? And more importantly, what did his existence imply for my own destiny or that of this world?
A shiver ran down my spine. The stats were low, yes, but the titles and skills... this was something entirely different. This was a sign, a warning that this world was much more than a facade.
I had always thought my main concern would be how to defeat the Lust Demon King from my past life, how to become stronger to save that other world when I was summoned again. But now... now getting stronger was imperative here and now. I had no idea what threat loomed over this world, over me, with people like Fionn appearing.
"But asking him right now won't be very useful."
After all, he suffers from [Amnesia]. Trying to talk to him right now, asking him anything, probably wouldn't help. He didn't have the power or the information to be useful. Not yet.
"Hahhh..."
With an almost inaudible sigh, I silently walked away, blending back into the bustling crowd. Fionn didn't even notice my presence, nor my analysis ability, nor my departure.
"I have no idea if this is the right decision..."
"But above all... I must save the people of the other world! I forged such close relationships with all of them!"
"I can still remember that pretentious and proud noblewoman who found it difficult to express her emotions. She was always there, supporting me, even pushing me to get closer to the other girls in the group. She and all of them are waiting for me."
"Wait for me, Arisa, girls... This time... I'll succeed!"
