Meanwhile, Xiao Xue’s side had left in the morning, traveled for the whole morning, and found a restaurant to eat lunch in a small county. After a short rest, they set off again; by the time it was evening, they hadn’t even reached a town or county and had to lodge at a farmer’s house.

This continued for several days, finding lodging when necessary; they rarely traveled at night because Zhang Yuan was the only one driving, and it was risky without proper rest at night.
