Reincarnation in the 60s: My Spatial Supermarket Brings Forth Wealth
Chapter 67: Thrown Out
CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 67: THROWN OUT
"Take a good look, I haven’t taken anything at all. Don’t use us as an excuse to squeeze Grandma and Grandpa, and besides, don’t forget you’ve already split from the family! Managing the house and getting involved with in-laws—do you think that’s how a daughter-in-law should behave? Don’t let me find out you’ve taken anything else from Grandma! Otherwise... I’m not my mom, so don’t blame me for not warning you if things get embarrassing!" Xiao Xue has seen this aunt throw a fit before, fighting with her mom, so from the bottom of her heart, she despises her. Even with a new mindset, she still feels uneasy seeing her.
"You... How can you talk to your elders like that? Truly a good daughter taught by your mom, with no manners at all!" Feng Minghua pointed at Xiao Xue and cursed!
"I’d advise you to stop while you’re ahead! For a so-called elder like you, I’d kick you out every time! You’ve really got the nerve to consider yourself an elder! It’s the New Year, so I don’t want to argue with you!" Xiao Xue came here for the first time in years and didn’t want things to get too tense, knowing that it would upset her mom if she found out.
"Minghua! Just leave! I can’t manage what’s going on between you two! Don’t think about interfering in our family matters anymore! I’m very happy that Xiao Xue could come to see this old woman! Stop babbling nonsense and go home!" Li Xiuying said firmly.
"Mom, you can’t ignore this! That’s your son! If you don’t care, who will?" Feng Minghua said as she started heading inside, "I’m not going back. If I do, Wang Junsheng will hit me again! I’m staying here for the New Year!"
Xiao Xue was about to step forward when Li Xiuying stopped her.
"Xiao Xue, don’t worry, Grandma has her ways to make her leave. Your uncle will come to pick her up soon! You should go back first! Tell your mom that Grandma will visit her in a few days!"
"Grandma, she won’t do anything to you, will she?" Xiao Xue asked, still a little worried.
"Xiao Xue, after all, your aunt is Grandma’s daughter-in-law, and she wouldn’t dare to do much! Let’s just go back, or else if you argue with her again, it’ll put Grandma in a difficult position! Let’s take it slow!" Zhang Yuan patted Xiao Xue on the shoulder and gave her a knowing look.
"Okay, Grandma, if there’s anything, let Uncle contact us! Trust me, we can help you solve it!" Xiao Xue seriously reassured Li Xiuying one last time.
Li Xiuying’s eyes were filled with tears, not because Xiao Xue promised to solve everything, but because she was happy to have reconnected with her only daughter. Others didn’t know what she had gone through these years, but every time she thought about her precious daughter suffering and going hungry, she would cry her eyes out.
Xiao Xue and Zhang Yuan left on their bikes, while Feng Minghua entered the house, served herself some food from the pot, grabbed some pancakes, and began to eat by herself.
You see, early in the morning, her own brother had come over and taken away more than half of the wheat flour dumplings they had made, even forcibly taking the half kilo of liquor Wang Junsheng had managed to get, swiping a bunch of their New Year’s supplies, and even taking the candies bought for the four kids, making the youngest son cry until he couldn’t catch his breath.
It left Wang Junsheng furious, and the couple had argued for a long time, eventually even coming to blows, not having eaten a bite, which left her starving.
Soon after, Grandpa Wang, Wang Junsheng, and Wang Yongsheng returned home.
As soon as he walked in and saw Feng Minghua eating while his mom was lying on the bed with a grim face, Wang Junsheng erupted again.
"Feng Minghua, don’t you have any shame? Coming here to eat? How dare you eat from the Wang Family’s table? You nasty woman, get back to your parents’ house! Don’t come back until you’ve reclaimed everything your beastly brother took!" He said as he kicked Feng Minghua’s stool.
Feng Minghua quickly swallowed the remaining corn cake in her hand, chewed twice, and started to curse, "Wang Junsheng, who are you calling a beast? You useless fool, you hit your wife over a bit of stuff? Are you even a man?"
Hearing this, Wang Junsheng became furious. Wang Yongsheng, standing beside his brother, couldn’t hold him back as he stepped forward and slapped Feng Minghua, "You filthy woman, are you some rich heiress? Can’t appreciate the little things? Do you know how much those New Year’s goods cost me? I tightened my belt to scrape together eight yuan for it all! And that beast brother of yours took it all! If you’re so proud, don’t come here for food!"
"Wang Junsheng, you bastard, you’re hitting me! Didn’t all those dumplings go to feed the five of you? I didn’t eat a single one! What more do you want?"
The two were shouting back and forth, and Grandpa Wang couldn’t stop them, so he sat back down on the bed, taking out his tobacco pipe and puffing away.
He was just an old bag of bones, enduring hardship all morning, and on the New Year, no less, they couldn’t even have a meal thanks to these troublesome fools.
"Brother, sister-in-law, stop fighting, can’t we have peace during the New Year?" Wang Yongsheng was exasperated.
The sister-in-law was also unpleasant, knowing full well it was her family who came to rob them of food, even taking the kids’ share, yet instead of calming down, she ignited more anger.
"You better get those things back, or I won’t let it go!" Wang Junsheng angrily swung his hand and sat on the bed, leaving Feng Minghua holding her face by the table.
Seeing the two stop fighting, Wang Yongsheng also sat down.
But he was exhausted from a morning of separating them, with the two nearly smashing everything breakable in the room.
He and his father had to save the four children and keep the peace, finally getting his sister-in-law outside, only for them to come back home to fight again, and he worried they’d tear the house apart.
"Why is it wrong for my parents to eat some of your food? As their son-in-law, shouldn’t you offer some respect? Do you have to blow up like this?" Feng Minghua cried, covering her face, "Every time I send something to my family, you give me attitude, and today you even hit me! Are you even human?"
"Feng Minghua! Was it just a little? Dumplings, liquor, even the few candies the kids hoped for all year round, all gone! Including the laying hen! Is that ’a little’? This is my literal lifeline, dammit! What did your beastly brother say?" Wang Junsheng, gasping for breath, pointed at himself, seething, "He said my Wang Junsheng’s kids aren’t worthy of eating such good stuff! Is he even human?"
The more he spoke, the angrier he got. Suddenly, he stood up, grabbed Feng Minghua, and dragged her out, "Today, I’m dragging you back to your family—I can’t keep a Feng’s daughter! Can’t I stop this?"
"Let me go..." Feng Minghua struggled and cried.
The old couple on the bed, hearing their son’s words, looked grim. They knew the eldest daughter-in-law was greedy for her family’s good, but they hadn’t expected the Feng Family to look down on their grandchildren so much—it was outrageous.
So the old couple turned a blind eye as Wang Junsheng dragged Feng Minghua outside, while Wang Yongsheng followed behind, hesitant to intervene, but unable to ignore it entirely, worried that over something like this, his brother might ruin the rest of his life if it turned into a tragedy.
"Wang Junsheng, let me go! I’ll report you to the commune!" Feng Minghua was dragged out, screaming with resentment.
"Go ahead! Until you get back what was taken, don’t come back! Report me if you want! Let’s see who gets caught and criticized then!" Wang Junsheng tossed her out, causing her to stumble and fall.
But she didn’t dare linger, scrambling to her feet and running away.
