REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO
Chapter 224: TRICKS AT PLAY
CHAPTER 224: TRICKS AT PLAY
The whirling sphere of compressed air blades screamed through the arena.
Logan leaped back, increasing the distance. Then he waved his right hand. An ice wall materialized in front of the sphere, but the sphere pierced through it with ease and kept moving.
Logan didn’t have time. He waved his hand once more. Multiple ice walls materialized. But the sphere kept moving like an unstoppable force, tearing through every piece of the ice walls.
"Damn it! What kind of twisted thing is this? And if he had something so powerful, why didn’t he use it against the wyvern?!"
He leaped back a vast distance. And then raised both his hands. Fired swirled quickly, turning into a raging fireball. He hurled it forward.
Finally, both spheres clashed with each other and neutralized each other.
Logan wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead with his index finger.
"Phew! Master, where were all these attacks back when you fought the wyvern?" Logan asked, his breathing still a little uneven.
Ali grinned. "I only developed them after you disappeared. Kept drilling them over and over. And I’ve mastered something else, too. Want to see it?"
Logan’s lips curled faintly. "After I left, huh? And you’ve got another one? Alright then... show me. Otherwise, later you’ll just say you never had the chance to use your best move."
Something in his tone had changed. Earlier, he used to be calm and composed, but now he sounded confident, maybe more than confident.
Ali raised a brow. "Is that so? You’re sounding cocky. I hope you’re prepared for what you’ve invited."
With a flick of his hand, a spark of fire appeared. At first, it was just a flicker, an ember. But within seconds, it swelled into a blazing fireball. Ali added air to its surface, and the sphere began to spin—faster! Until it looked almost like his earlier compressed orb of air blades.
Then, with a swift motion, he hurled it.
But Logan smirked. "Master, it’s just the same style with different affinities. Earlier, you used air and air. But this time you are using fire and air. Let me show you something of mine as well."
Logan quickly bent his right elbow and arced back his hand like a coiled spring. Same as before. But this time, something was different. Whisps of cold air emanated from his fist.
And then....
Boom! He threw a punch just like the air Cannon earlier. But this time it moved forward, tearing through the air and freezing everything in its path.
And then...
Phoof!
The moment Ali’s blazing air bomb touched the air around the invisible punch, it froze in mid-air and turned into an ice object being hurled back.
Whoosh! Crack! The ice ball shattered like glass when it hit the wall in the distance.
Ali’s eyes widened in shock. "This kid! How far has he reached? Can I even win against him?"
His thoughts spun inside his head.
Logan, meanwhile, cracked his knuckles. First, his right hand. Then his left. " Let me show you something of mine too."
"You have more left?" Ali’s eyes widened even more.
Logan didn’t say anything. Only a faint smile spread across his face.
He raised his hands. And five small fireballs materialized in the air.
Ali’s eyes narrowed. "Is that all? Five fireballs all at once! Maybe good! But against an S-class hunter, will they do anything when they look this weak?"
What Ali said was true. The fireballs that Logan produced looked really weak. As if even a slight breeze would snuff them out.
Logan’s posture didn’t change, as if that was the reaction he had expected, and he knew what he was doing.
And then...
Flick... His wrist twisted. And all fireballs shot forward. But that puzzled Ali even more. Because none of the fireballs had the correct aim.
They were hurled in his direction for sure, but all would bypass him easily.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! All shot forward. Ali still stood there, unmoving. "The brat has lost his mind. Who does he think he is fighting against?
But just when all the fireballs were about to bypass him, Logan flicked his wrist again. And then...
It happened..
All fireballs changed their direction and lunged at Ali. But that’s not all. Even their destructiveness increased. They all flared violently.
"Fuck." Ali cursed and quickly put up a wind barrier, but it failed to deflect all of them. Only two were stopped, and the remaining three slammed into his chest squarely.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Whoosh!
Ali flew back like a ragdoll, hit the ground twenty metres away, and skidded even farther.
Finally, his body stopped after touching the wall at the end of the arena. The pain spread through his whole body. But he didn’t even care. All his focus was on what had just happened.
"What in the hell? How did the brat do it? Can we change a spell attack’s trajectory even after it has left the body?"
He stared at Logan in shock. "Logan, what the hell had you been doing in these last two years?" As Logan had decided to take off his mask and walk freely, Ali had also stopped calling him Aiden.
"I will tell you, master. But it will take time. I hope you can rely on me now, right? So better get going. I can’t let them take action first." Logan said calmly. So whatever confidence he had shown wasn’t arrogance after all.
Brushing off the dust, Ali stood up straight. "You better teach me those moves too after we are done. And don’t worry. I will inform them right away."
Logan nodded.
Meanwhile, in the main hall of the hunter’s guild, the hunters were all puzzled by the tremors and quakes that had started half an hour ago.
They wanted to ask Elizabeth, but she was missing too.
And just amidst their confused looks and murmurs, a group of hunters entered the guild.
It was Ronald at the front, followed by Jessi, Raphael, Melissa, Luna, Lilith, the two new members, and Gideon at the last.
The moment they entered, there was another tremor that shook the building.
"What’s going on?" They all had the same question.
