CHAPTER 96: CHAPTER 96: TRIP TO THE PROVINCIAL CAPITAL (PART 4)
Nianyang sneered, "Since you insist on shamelessly occupying my seat, I’ll have to get the train administrator to help."
At the mention of the train administrator, the middle-aged woman’s face changed slightly, and a scruffy-bearded man in the right row spoke gruffly, "Woman, don’t cause trouble, go back to your seat!"
The middle-aged woman pouted, unwillingly gave back the seat to Nianyang, and spat at her as she walked down the aisle.
Sitting in her seat, Nianyang became increasingly uneasy.
The middle-aged woman had actually hurt her own child just to occupy a seat — could a real mother do such a thing?
As this thought surfaced, Nianyang couldn’t help but entertain a bold idea: what if the child wasn’t hers?
Considering this, Nianyang discreetly began to observe the woman’s actions.
She noticed the infant in the woman’s arms was crying continuously, yet she didn’t attempt to soothe it, instead forcing a bottle of plain water into its mouth.
After the baby was forced to drink a few sips, it didn’t even whimper and fell asleep directly!
Something’s wrong!
Something’s very wrong!
This brought one word to Nianyang’s mind: trafficker!
She knew traffickers would use sleeping pills on abducted children to avoid detection during the selling process, making them sleep soundly to avoid drawing attention!
The more she thought about it, the more unsettled she became. She couldn’t just sit back and watch the trafficker abduct an innocent child; she had to find a way to save the child.
About ten minutes passed.
Nianyang noticed from the corner of her eye that the men went to the bathroom carrying large bags, so Nianyang asked Tuanzi to sneak in and listen to what they were saying. A short while later, Tuanzi brought back shocking news!
Those men were indeed traffickers, and they planned to get off at the provincial city station.
It would’ve been out of sight, out of mind if she hadn’t seen it, but having witnessed this, there’s no way Nianyang could just stand by!
But currently, they’re on a train, with so many passengers in the carriage. Directly confronting this group would inevitably drag the passengers into the chaos.
Besides, these bad guys likely carried weapons for self-defense; no one could tell what might happen if they were alarmed.
Nianyang inconspicuously made her way to the train management room present in every carriage to report her discovery to the train administrator inside.
The conductor was so startled by the news that the teapot slipped from his hands.
Nianyang wasted no words, explaining the situation with a serious face, making everything clear.
