Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person
Chapter 42: I Said, Let’s Get a Divorce!
CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: I SAID, LET’S GET A DIVORCE!
Sabrina couldn’t help feeling very grateful and repeatedly thanked Nash Spencer.
Nash waved his hand, indicating it was no big deal.
Because he still had to catch a flight back to Aethel, after delivering the items, he didn’t stay long and left quickly.
Sabrina, tired from a long day, didn’t stay either. After bidding farewell to Commander Coleman, she headed home.
On the way back, Zara nestled in her arms, fell asleep drowsily.
Even in deep sleep, her hands tightly clutched the harmonica and wouldn’t let go.
Seeing this, Sabrina didn’t take it away.
Although it was a tiring day and she didn’t get to see Mr. Fitzgerald, overall, it was still fruitful.
It was the most relaxed she had felt inside in days.
Once home, as she relaxed, she too fell asleep with Zara.
When they woke up, it was already eight in the evening, and both mother and daughter were hungry, their stomachs growling.
After freshening up, Sabrina quickly took Zara downstairs for dinner.
But to her surprise, just as they got to the downstairs lobby, she saw Brooke’s son playing on the carpet.
And Jordan Hawthorne, with his legs crossed, was on the sofa nearby, reviewing documents.
In the light, the atmosphere between the two seemed harmonious and warm.
Like a real father and son!
Sabrina’s expression suddenly darkened and she almost blurted out, "Why did you bring him to the house again?"
After the last incident, she thought he should know how cautious she was of this brat.
Jordan frowned and looked at Sabrina, his tone void of any warmth and even filled with discontent, "Brooke is busy with a new project, Sonny just recovered from illness, and there’s no one at home to take care of him, so I brought him here... Do you really need to be so hostile to a child?"
Sabrina remained expressionless.
A person full of mischief, shouldn’t she be wary?
Sonny’s eyes rolled slightly as he pretended to be obedient, "Auntie, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you by coming over, don’t worry, I’ll be good and play nicely with Zara..."
Zara was clearly a bit resistant, instinctively moving closer to her mommy, not wanting to engage.
Yet Sonny insisted on approaching, saying, "Zara, I brought a lot of new toys, would you like to have some?"
Without hesitation, Sabrina picked up her daughter and coldly scolded, "Stay away from Zara, she doesn’t want to play with someone like you!"
With these words, Jordan’s face instantly turned grim.
For the time being, he didn’t confront Sabrina, he just said, "Sonny, weren’t you going to assemble the Transformer? Come over here, your uncle will accompany you!"
Sonny feigned hesitation for a moment, then quickly turned back, his face brimming with joy, "Okay, thank you, uncle."
Watching the scene of the two acting like a loving family, Sabrina found herself somewhat accustomed to Jordan’s reaction.
Perhaps she had become too used to his favoritism, it no longer seemed unusual.
She couldn’t be bothered to pay attention.
As long as her daughter wasn’t wronged, she didn’t care.
Soon after, Sabrina took Zara to the dining hall for dinner.
Afterwards, not wanting to be in the same space as those two, she took Zara to the music room to try practicing the harmonica.
Since Sabrina didn’t know how, she found a tutorial for her daughter on her phone.
After finding one, she realized she forgot to bring the sheet music.
She remembered it was left on the table after coming home at dusk.
Sabrina immediately got up and told her little one, "Mommy is going to get the sheet music, wait for a moment, okay?"
Little Zara nodded obediently, looking very expectant.
Sabrina smiled and ruffled her head, then quickly walked to the living room to find it.
Unexpectedly, the sheet music she had left on the table was missing.
She initially thought maybe the maid had taken it.
Her eyes inadvertently swept over to Sonny.
The next second, she saw that the sheet music had been taken by the brat and used as a mat for his assembled Transformer.
What froze her blood even more was a nearby drawing.
The painting was a new gift for Zara from Mr. Fitzgerald.
When they came back tonight, it was clipped inside the sheet music!
Sabrina was shocked and rushed over to pick up the drawing.
Originally, the depiction of the little cub and the young military dog was vivid and lively, but now, the paint was smeared beyond recognition.
One corner was even torn.
The entire painting... completely ruined!
Sabrina Hayes was momentarily overwhelmed with anger, her rationality destroyed, and the hand holding the painting trembled.
"Who told you to take Zara’s painting? Didn’t your mother teach you not to touch other people’s things in their homes? Do you have any manners?"
She scolded furiously and then yanked out the music sheet.
The newly assembled Transformer, being unstable, fell to the ground and shattered instantly.
Coincidentally, Jordan Hawthorne, who had gone outside to take a call, just happened to come in and see this scene.
His tone turned suddenly serious as he sternly questioned, "Sabrina, what are you doing? What did Sonny do to provoke you that you’d smash his toy? Aren’t you a little too old to be acting so ridiculously?"
Sabrina’s anger had not subsided, her beautiful eyes reddened with rage.
"Why don’t you ask what he did? Since you brought him here, why didn’t you watch him, allowing him to carelessly ruin Zara’s painting?"
Does he even know how important this painting is to Zara???
This morning, the little one carried it around like a treasure, saying she wanted to ask Uncle to teach her to paint.
It was a key to guiding her out of autism!!!
Jordan Hawthorne was taken aback, subconsciously looking at Sonny, "Were you being naughty again?"
Sonny looked as if he was shocked and scared, pitifully tearing up and said, "I’m sorry, Uncle, I didn’t know it was a painting, I thought it was something useless, so I took it... I didn’t mean to..."
After saying this, his mouth wrinkled and tears started to fall.
Seeing this, Jordan’s heart softened instantly.
He turned back to Sabrina, his tone displeased, "It’s just a painting, is it that big of a deal?"
Hearing this, Sabrina felt an extreme chill all over her body.
Is it that big of a deal???
For something so important to Zara, to him it’s just a nonchalant ’is it that big of a deal’?
Does he believe that no matter how grave the mistakes of Brooke’s son are, they can just be casually dismissed?
Suddenly, Sabrina felt heartache for her daughter.
The father she always hoped for, treats her this way!
Sabrina gritted her teeth and said coldly, "Of course it’s a big deal! Do you know... how much this painting can help Zara heal??? Jordan, do you even care? You keep protecting someone else’s child, does that give you such a sense of accomplishment??? If so, let’s get a divorce, this life isn’t worth living!!!"
She’s tolerated too much coldness, her endurance finally reaching its limit!
No matter how coldly Jordan treated her, she could gradually not care.
But her Zara doesn’t need such an unfeeling father!
Jordan seemed not to have expected that she would bring up divorce, and he was momentarily stunned.
But soon, his brow furrowed with a chilling intensity.
It was as if Sabrina had said something she shouldn’t have.
He abruptly strode forward and grabbed Sabrina’s hand, saying, "Repeat what you just said???"
Sabrina looked back at him and repeated, "I said... divorce!"
Jordan seemed to be incensed.
Smiling angrily, "Sabrina, you think you have the qualifications to ask me for a divorce? Back then, it was you who deliberately got pregnant and urged my grandmother to pressure me into marriage, and now you think you can bring up divorce to me???"
Sabrina seemed to have heard something unbelievable.
"I deliberately got pregnant? Jordan, it was you who got drunk first!!!"
Jordan said viciously, "Even so, couldn’t you take medication? As a doctor, don’t you know about emergency contraception? Do I need to teach you this?"
Sabrina’s face instantly turned deathly pale.
At that moment, she realized, the suspicion from the funeral day really came true.
The person he drunkenly called that night was Brooke.
The man in front of her not only mistook identities but never wanted the child either!
Sonny, on the side, hearing the two argue about divorce, his eyes lit up.
All the previous disturbances were for this purpose.
Is it finally happening?
No one noticed the change in his expression.
After being stunned for quite some time, Sabrina finally flung his hand away, "So, this is how you’ve always seen me? No wonder... no wonder... you neither care for me nor for Zara! Since that’s the case, won’t divorce just be fulfilling your wish? Just go ahead and make it happen with Brooke, why drag it out?"
Jordan’s face turned a bit unsightly, and he yelled, "Shut up, don’t let me hear those two words again."
Having said that, he stopped paying attention to her and went to comfort Zara.
Sabrina looked at his back, her heart completely broken.
This marriage, she was determined to end it!
