Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person
Chapter 54: There’s Really Nothing to Say to You
CHAPTER 54: CHAPTER 54: THERE’S REALLY NOTHING TO SAY TO YOU
Sabrina Hayes listened and didn’t know how to respond to her father’s words.
It was as if something was choking her throat, leaving her speechless for a long time.
Just as she was worried she might slip up, the restaurant arrived.
She quickly changed the subject and led her parents out of the car.
The private restaurant was very popular, and private rooms had to be booked in advance. Since Sabrina didn’t get a reservation, she could only have her parents dine in the main hall.
Her parents didn’t mind at all.
For them, the environment was secondary; what mattered was the warmth and togetherness of family.
Later, when the dishes were served, Sabrina helped her parents with food, saying, "This is their specialty, Mom, Dad, try it... Since you’re here, stay a few more days. Zara is in school now, and I have the time to take you around."
Galina Young had no objections.
They hadn’t seen their daughter and granddaughter for a long time and missed them dearly. They hadn’t planned to leave quickly anyway.
Charles Hayes didn’t say much either, simply adding food to his daughter’s plate, "This is what you like, eat more, put some weight back on."
"Okay."
Sabrina obediently replied.
To ease her parents’ worries, she indulged in eating more than usual at lunch.
The meal, surrounded by a happy atmosphere, was nearing its end.
Toward the end, Sabrina went to the restroom.
Upon returning, she unexpectedly saw Jordan Hawthorne.
No... to be more precise, it was Jordan Hawthorne along with his parents, Brooke Sinclairs, and a pair of unfamiliar middle-aged couple.
If her guess was right, they must be Brooke Sinclairs’ parents!
When the six of them entered, the atmosphere was harmonious, filled with lively conversation, as they headed to a private room on the second floor.
During this, she saw Jordan Hawthorne being attentive and courteous to Brooke Sinclairs’ parents, with a friendly smile.
Very unlike the cold indifference he showed towards her parents.
Looking at them, they seemed more like a family...
An overwhelming fury swept over Sabrina’s heart.
If they never intended to accept her from the start, why not make it clear, instead of belittling her again and again?
They... were truly disgusting!
Sabrina was so angry she trembled and took a long time to calm down.
It wasn’t until her mother called that she reluctantly suppressed her emotions and went back to them.
By this time, her parents had finished their meal. To prevent them from seeing such a hurtful sight, Sabrina didn’t linger and soon took them out of the restaurant.
In the afternoon, she took the time to take them around and enjoy much of Veridia’s beautiful scenery.
When they were tired, she brought them back home.
Once home, Sabrina went to the kitchen to make fruit juice for them.
Galina Young and her husband were in the living room, discussing whether they should visit their in-laws.
"It’s not often we come over; if we don’t go, it might seem rude of our family."
Charles Hayes agreed, "We should go for a visit. Once Sabrina comes, let’s have her make the call."
Galina Young nodded, and when Sabrina returned with the juice, they mentioned it to her.
Sabrina’s expression froze, and she instinctively refused, "No need, Mom. They’re so busy, they might not have the time, so it’s enough that I’m here with you!"
She had long lost hope with The Hawthorne Family, especially after what she witnessed at the restaurant at noon.
In Florence Scott’s mind, Brooke Sinclairs was probably considered the daughter-in-law.
Having been humiliated that way herself, how could she allow her parents to endure such a disgrace?
But Galina Young insisted, "If they don’t have time, that’s their problem, but we still have to pay our respects! At least if someone brings it up later, they won’t seize the opportunity to find fault with you!"
Sabrina felt deeply uncomfortable inside.
Her parents were doing all this to make things a bit easier for her with The Hawthorne Family.
They considered everything for her!
Eventually, Sabrina relented, "Then I’ll call and ask."
After saying this, she didn’t delay and quickly picked up the phone to call Florence Scott.
It took a long time for the other side to answer, and the tone wasn’t pleasant, "What is it?"
Sabrina spoke in a calm tone, "My parents are in Veridia and would like to visit. I wonder if you two have the time?"
She asked casually, not expecting Florence Scott to agree, and was even prepared to be rejected.
And indeed, as she expected.
Florence Scott didn’t agree.
Moreover, she used an even more repulsive excuse, saying, "Why didn’t you say so earlier? I went abroad for a trip with my friends this morning. If you had mentioned it last night, I could have booked the flight a couple of days later. However..."
Suddenly, her tone turned with a hint of mockery, "There’s nothing to talk about between us and your parents. They don’t understand business, nor our topics of discussion; it would be quite awkward to just sit there! If we were in the same circle, maybe we could discuss some business, don’t you think?"
Sabrina could hear the disdain and superiority in her voice, and her eyes turned icy cold.
She had long known that this call shouldn’t have been made.
But it was also this call that led to her complete awakening.
She shouldn’t have hidden it from her parents.
She should let them know the true faces of The Hawthorne Family!
Sabrina’s tone was so cold it could freeze, "You’re right, there’s indeed nothing to say... After all, spiritually, we are not on the same level!
My parents have spent their lives educating countless students who went on to prestigious schools and have achieved great things. They are highly respected and treat others kindly and courteously, very different from some who reek of the stench of money!"
After finishing these words, she no longer wanted to waste time and directly hung up the call.
On the other side, Florence Scott was furious, her face turning an iron blue.
That damned Sabrina Hayes, how dare she speak to her like this!!!
She angrily made several calls back.
But Sabrina had set her phone to silent and didn’t pick up any of them.
"So, do they have time?"
Galina Young asked immediately upon seeing her daughter finish the call.
Sabrina pondered for a few seconds and said straightforwardly, "Mom, Dad, there’s no need to see them. No more in the future either... Jordan Hawthorne and I are planning to divorce."
The words caught them both by surprise.
Their expressions seemed a bit shocked, but only for a moment, before turning serious.
Galina Young immediately pulled her daughter over and gently asked, "Can you tell Mom what happened?"
Sabrina kept her head down, afraid of seeing disappointment in her parents’ eyes, and also fearing their objection.
After all, her parents were relatively conservative and took marriage seriously.
If their daughter were to divorce, it would likely ruin the family reputation they had built over decades.
But the hardship was too much for her to bear, so she finally spoke, "Jordan and I have long lost our affection for each other and have reached a point where we can’t go on. Divorce is something I’ve carefully considered, so..."
She didn’t say much more, just looked apologetic, "I’m sorry, Mom, Dad, it’s my fault for making you worry."
Her parents listened to this without immediately expressing their opinions.
After a while, Galina Young said, "What loss of affection? From what I see, Jordan Hawthorne has someone else outside, right."
This wasn’t a question, but a statement.
