Retired for A Hundred Years: Re-Employment for the Apocalypse Bigshot!
Chapter 141: A Genius Brother, a Worthless Sister
CHAPTER 141: CHAPTER 141: A GENIUS BROTHER, A WORTHLESS SISTER
Bai Feng knew his limits well, and when Bai Yusen spoke like this, he didn’t respond.
He felt a bit dissatisfied with this Bai Family’s cousin.
Perhaps it’s easier to see clearly from the outside; he had witnessed many instances where Miss Chang Ru made suggestions to the Patriarch, causing the eldest daughter to be unhappy, but as an outsider, he couldn’t interfere between siblings.
Ever since the death of the parents, the Patriarch valued this only remaining blood relative too much, afraid that she might encounter any accidents, which led to many obsessive and irrational actions, making the eldest daughter increasingly unhappy at home.
To be honest, he felt the eldest daughter was much better in Anhe; at least the videos and photos he received from Anhe showed her much happier than in Beijing.
Bai Feng glanced at the rearview mirror at the displeased Patriarch, silently lowered his eyelids, and looked at the car in front.
"Patriarch, should we return to the hotel or..."
"Let’s go to Ming Residence Garden."
Inside the car in front, Bai Xiaotang’s eyes were red, her head bowed in grievance.
Ji Ning glanced at her and said her usual catchphrase, "Get a grip!"
Bai Xiaotang pouted, remained silent, and tears began to flow silently, full of grievance like a pitiful little thing.
Lin Yuanyang turned around, feeling somewhat sympathetic, having witnessed Bai Yusen’s aggressiveness.
Ever since the Bai Family parents passed away, Bai Yusen’s personality changed drastically, becoming increasingly reserved and harder to read.
His handling of matters was very tough, as if he had become a different person.
Add to that Chang Ru’s frequent stirring up trouble, the relationship between Bai Xiaotang and Bai Yusen started to show strain.
The siblings don’t like being candid with each other, making Bai Xiaotang often the little pitiful one feeling wronged.
"Why don’t you sit down and have a good talk? Brother Yu Sen isn’t unreasonable," Lin Yuanyang rarely spoke without sarcasm.
Bai Xiaotang shook her head defiantly, "I’m never speaking to him again. Brother is so mean!"
Ji Ning glanced at her pouty face and ignored her.
When the car drove into the basement, Bai Xiaotang held onto Ji Ning’s sleeve and whispered, "Sister Ning, I want to sleep with you tonight."
She must be really afraid her brother would take her away!
Ji Ning let out a light laugh, neither agreeing nor declining, so Bai Xiaotang took it as acquiescence.
She followed Ji Ning out of the car, not even glancing at her brother’s car, walking straight past it.
Bai Yusen looked more gloomy and suddenly spoke, "Ji Ning, can we have a chat?"
Ji Ning paused and turned to face him, "Sure."
Her pretty almond eyes showed no emotion, the attractive face and sharp features not looking like a girl’s.
Add to that her somewhat neutral attire, she was clearly someone not easy to manage, full of individuality.
Bai Xiaotang could hardly escape their influence.
Bai Yusen instinctively felt disapproving.
Bai Xiaotang was afraid he’d interfere in her friendships again, quickly grabbed Ji Ning’s arm, just about to shake her head before hearing Ji Ning’s gentle reply, "You and Lin Yuanyang go ahead; I’ll be back momentarily."
"Sister Ning..."
"Be good."
Ji Ning gently removed her hand, turned to Bai Yusen, "Where shall we chat?"
Bai Yusen didn’t get out of the car, through the window said, "There’s a café outside the community."
Ji Ning raised an eyebrow, circled the car’s rear, opened the door next to him, and sat inside.
Bai Xiaotang was extremely worried, but Lin Yuanyang held her arm firmly, afraid she’d follow.
"Don’t worry, with Sister Ning there, you’ll surely stay."

Bai Yusen didn’t take Ji Ning to the café by the community gate, but went directly to a private tea room nearby.
Compared to coffee, Bai Yusen preferred tea.
Though its aroma wasn’t strong, it was soothing, the tea’s fragrance lingering, flowing through the palate like a mellow drink.
Bai Yusen skillfully handled the tea set in front of him, from warming the cups to brewing tea, each step done personally, until he poured out the first cup.
His manners were excellent, first offering the brewed tea to Ji Ning, gesturing for her to take it.
Ji Ning looked at the full cup of tea, smiled, calmly picked it up, and drank it in one go.
The tea was boiling, yet she didn’t seem to feel it.
Having emptied the cup, she quietly watched the man opposite savor the tea.
Bai Yusen had good bone structure, prominent features, deep-set eyes, compared to Bai Xiaotang who still had a bit of baby fat, his features leaned more mature.
But in Ji Ning’s eyes, he was just an inexperienced kid, not much better than Bai Xiaotang.
Bai Yusen finally drank the tea and appeared particularly relaxed. Ji Ning was somewhat surprised sensing the energy faintly emerging from his body.
This man was about to awaken his superpower.
Ji Ning’s eyes narrowed slightly.
After finishing the tea, Bai Yusen looked at Ji Ning, his deep gaze devoid of warmth, "Why are you approaching my sister?"
Ji Ning smiled, raised the tea cup to him, and said, "An essential step in tea brewing is dividing the pot, pouring the tea into the cup, filling seven parts full, leaving three parts for favors. Your tea is too full."
Bai Yusen placed the cup down, sneering, "Leaving room depends on the person."
Up till now, he believed Ji Ning’s presence beside Bai Xiaotang was because of the Bai Family.
Only he didn’t yet know Ji Ning’s intentions?
Ji Ning toyed with the cup, "Kid, to be honest, in my eyes, your Bai Family is nothing special."
Bai Yusen chuckled, "Big words indeed."
"Almost awakened, right?"
Bai Yusen froze, his gaze instantly sharp toward Ji Ning.
Seeing Ji Ning opposite, fingers playing with the cup, face playful, gazing at him with eyes seeming to peer through his entirety.
Bai Yusen picked the cup up again and took a sip, "Awaken what? I don’t understand."
"Brother with S-Class spiritual power about to awaken, while sister is a D-Class waste in constitution."
"What did you say?" Bai Yusen this time truly couldn’t contain his anger, the cup shattered instantly in his hand, hot tea pouring over it.
He didn’t care, eyes locked onto Ji Ning, wishing she would disappear immediately.
"You’re very angry? Isn’t this common talk in Beijing?"
Ji Ning snorted, calmly picked up the teapot between them, poured herself a cup.
Bai Yusen’s fingers tightly gripped, but Ji Ning didn’t pause, continued, "You’re quite pleased, aren’t you? Being a genius, while your sister is a waste, sitting securely in the Bai Family Head’s position without worrying she’ll compete with your inheritance."
If looks could kill, Ji Ning would’ve been torn apart already.
Ji Ning appeared not to notice, sipping tea and said, "No wonder your sister wants to get into military school, stay far from you. So she won’t stand in your way?"
As soon as the words finished, the teapot in front of Ji Ning shattered instantly.
The shattered teapot lid had a spoon inserted into it.
"Have you finished talking?" Bai Yusen’s face was devoid of any expression, his voice icy cold, the spoon stuck in the teapot lid suddenly hovered, pointing its handle at Ji Ning’s eyes.
As if she spoke again, it’d stab blind her.
Ji Ning lightly chuckled, reached with two fingers and snapped the spoon handle.
"Hearing these makes you very angry, right? But your sister’s heard it for five to six years..."
