Chapter 885: Chapter 874 Competition
“Compete in what?” Song Yun asked without showing any emotion.
“Of course, martial arts!” the middle-aged man said, “Whoever loses has to kneel down and call the other ‘grandfather’, how about it?”
“Oh? Call what?” Song Yun asked with a frown.
“Grandfather!”
“Good grandson!” Song Yun replied with a mischievous smile.
“You’re looking for trouble!” The middle-aged man was about to explode, but Tang Lin lightly appeared before him and said, “Deputy Leader, don’t get upset. He’s just a newcomer, no need to get angry with new recruits. Pillar, this is one of our group’s deputy leaders, Mr. Lang!!”
“Hmph, does the third group only have a sharp tongue?” the middle-aged man said disdainfully, “Or do you think that gaining the upper hand in words is your victory?”
“Boring!” Song Yun also snorted coldly and turned his head to continue watching the match on the field.
The middle-aged man, referred to as Mr. Lang by Tang Lin, felt quite uncomfortable. This newcomer from the third group was ignoring him, and as the deputy leader of the second group, how could he be content with that? Still, since the match was ongoing, Mr. Lang couldn’t act out, so he had to endure it for the moment.
Mr. Lang decided to make sure to teach this newcomer a lesson later! At least let him realize what it means to be humble as a newcomer!
After replying to Mr. Lang, Song Yun paid him no more attention and concentrated on watching the match in the field.
At this point, the match was in the late stages. Using kicks required more energy, so Ghost Leg Seven was starting to feel exhausted, allowing Meng Quan to seize the opportunity, hitting him on the chest with a claw and tearing a bloody wound.
Ghost Leg Seven, defeated.
“Sigh, the final misstep was too obvious!” Song Yun said with his arms crossed, “That flaw, only a rookie would make it, probably due to excessive stamina loss.”
Unexpectedly, Ghost Leg Seven, who was about to bandage his wound, heard this. With wide eyes, he said, “Who the hell are you calling a rookie? It was just a mistake on my part!”
“About ten rounds ago, you should’ve moved to the left, but you went to the right, which was exactly under Meng Quan’s attack, making you lose the upper hand. During the last moment, if you could have bent down, you wouldn’t have been hit. But you bent, which only means that compared to Meng Quan, you’re weaker!” Song Yun stated calmly, his voice intentionally not lowered, letting everyone around hear it.
“Did you hear that, Ghost Leg Seven? Everyone in the third group says you’re no match for me! The analysis by the third group is invincible, haha, just admit defeat!” Meng Quan said gleefully.
“Shut the hell up!” Ghost Leg Seven, frustrated by his loss and injury, cursed, “The third group’s rookies have no right to speak. If it were you, I’d have you down in a few moves.”
“What if I’m not down?” Song Yun directly asked.
“If you’re not down, I’ll give you my last two recovery potions and tell our whole team that the third group isn’t just the ‘wimpy group’!” Ghost Leg Seven responded.
“Wimpy group?” Song Yun looked puzzled.
Tang Lin whispered, “You third group folks mostly just talk and rarely get hands-on, so we call you the ‘wimpy group.’
“Alright! If I’m not down in three moves, you’ll announce in front of everyone that we’re not the wimpy group and hand over your potions!” Song Yun declared.
“What if you are down?” Ghost Leg Seven asked.
“If I am, I’ll give you all my potions!” Song Yun said.
“Fine! Let me bandage my wound first,” Ghost Leg Seven said and went to the side to bandage his wounds, while Tang Lin lowly asked Song Yun, “Do you have potions? What kind of potion?”
“I don’t have any.” Song Yun whispered back.
“Damn!” Tang Lin’s voice suddenly grew loud, and upon seeing people looking their way, he whispered again, “Then how can you wager?”
“You never heard of getting something for nothing?” Song Yun grinned wickedly, “Besides, I won’t lose anyway, right?”
“That’s true!” Tang Lin acknowledged, “You’re not the same as before now!”
Quickly, Ghost Leg Seven returned with his wounds bandaged, standing before Song Yun and asked, “Are you sure about this? Once decided, there’s no turning back!”
“I’m sure!” Song Yun replied, “At most, I’ll give everything to you if I lose!”
“Alright, Deputy Leader, would you mind being our referee?” Ghost Leg Seven asked Mr. Lang.
“No problem!” Mr. Lang winked at Ghost Leg Seven, then walked to the center of the field. As Ghost Leg Seven stood ready, Mr. Lang whispered, “Hit him hard.” Then he raised his voice, “Since both parties are willing, let’s get ready to start.”
Song Yun moved his hands and feet. Ever since he recovered from his last injury, he hadn’t really engaged in a fight. He was eager to face someone who seemed of equal strength, especially since he could acquire Ghost Leg Seven’s potions. Knowing each potion was limited and costly, making them scarce, Song Yun couldn’t help but be tempted by the chance to get some. This temptation was hard to resist.
Of course, Song Yun could ask his parents for potions, but he wanted to prove himself as an independent man, rather than relying on his parents for everything.
Mr. Lang looked at Song Yun and asked, “For this match, do you plan to fight until one side is down, or should we count points?”
“Fight until one side is down!” Ghost Leg Seven said with a smile, “I want this newcomer to experience what a real leg sweep feels like. Just hope he doesn’t beg for mercy too soon.”
Song Yun stood calmly opposite Ghost Leg Seven, “My leg sweep is actually quite good too!”
“Young man, talking is cheap, speak as much as you want!” Ghost Leg Seven said, “You’ll soon know that some boasts shouldn’t be made lightly!”
After a few exchanges of words, Song Yun was ready and stood facing Ghost Leg Seven, then addressed Mr. Lang, “Mr. Gra… ah no, Deputy Leader, can we begin?”
Mr. Lang’s face turned ashen as he moved aside and said, “Then let’s begin.”
