CHAPTER 178: CHAPTER 177- SUDDEN ARRIVAL

Adrian sat in his office.

Ariana was still resting. The academy was finally regaining peace. The students were given a few days off. Those who got injured are getting treated.

The exchange students were safe, except for Elizabeth. Following the assault she faced against Adrian, she was very close to the explosion and lost consciousness.

She isn’t in any immediate danger but she lost a lot of blood.

Until now, they hadn’t heard anything from the Aegis Academy, but Adrian knew it was on the way. Not just Aegis but the capital too would soon contact them.

In the ambush, more than thirty soldiers lost their lives. Those soldiers were assigned by the capital to protect the exchange students. So, this time they won’t blame them blatantly.

’This is problematic. There are a few major and minor arcs around the academy. In the novel, everything was handled in the background; in reality, Ariana has to shoulder all the burden.’

Allen rises, saves the day. That was the norm. But the aftermath? It was all handled by the Headmistress.

Right now, she was resting after taking a few potions. But even in her sleep, she was restlessly moving around. Whether mental or physical, she was disturbed.

’I can’t let her face the full brunt of the matter.’ He has already thought of what he must do to defend Ariana.

[Umm...are you okay now?]

A message came in the group chat.

It was from the creator of the Golem.

"Yes, I am good now," Adrian responded as he leaned back in his seat.

Forgelet: [Was the golem useful? I gave you without asking for any specifications. It was just a command-driven magic-resistant golem.]

She was nervous because she couldn’t provide the best.

However, it wasn’t her fault. Adrian didn’t give her any specifications because he didn’t know what he might face during the ambush. If he knew Abraham would be showing up, he might have added details.

But well, "It helped...rather, saved my life."

[What?!]

Someone interrupted. It was Valor.

Valor: [You nearly died? Why, a Runesmith, fighting on the battlefield and risking his life? The creators on my side always get the most secured room.]

Adrian wryly smiled, "Sharing personal information is forbidden...just know that I am not just a Runesmith."

He can’t tell them that he was a teacher too, not only because the system would block the text but also because of Annabelle.

He couldn’t let her connect the dots and reach him.

Crimson: [Your situation seems...dangerous. Do you want my help?]

Adrian blinked in surprise, "Help? How?"

Crimson: [Have you gotten hold of your magic?]

Adrian hummed, "What do you mean by magic?"

[Sorcery, I mean.]

Her response surprised him, "Wait...you know that I can use magic?" He lowered his voice to a quiet hush.

Forgelet: [I am surprised you can share that over the chat. I thought that the system would block it.]

Now that she mentioned it, it was actually strange.

Regardless, Adrian didn’t focus on that and asked the lady, "Umm...Crimson, since you already know that I can use magic, can you help me in any way?"

He didn’t know what she was capable of or what she could provide him. However, since she chose the topic, he believed she must have something useful on her side.

Valor: [Ah, I can help you with Sword Arts! Do you want to learn?]

Asked the warrior with multiple affinities.

Adrian wryly smiled, "I have a bad experience with Sword Arts. I tried learning once but...it was too difficult for this inexperienced me."

Valor: [Oh...well, I have some easy ones. So if you ever feel like it, just ask me.]

Adrian hummed and soon, the message from Crimson arrived,

[Make me the cooling artifact like before. Ten of them and I will give you a spell scroll.]

Adrian frowned, "Spell scroll?"

Forgelet: [A spell scroll is a magic paper that lets someone learn a spell. By reading or focusing on it, the spell gets added to their memory, allowing them to use it later. Some scrolls disappear after use, while others can be reused.]

Adrian ooh-ed, before he heard from Crimson,

[I will give you one of the best. An attack-type spell that never fails. It’s named ’Hell Storm’. I know you will love it.]

Adrian’s brows went up, "That sounds strong."

Valor: [But aren’t Spell Scrolls kind of draining and dangerous? Like if you don’t have an affinity for it, you will endlessly drain your storage.]

"..." Well, that is disappointing.

"...hah. Well then I can’t take the scroll. My affinity is just the opposite."

Scarlette: [...]

...gone was her air conditioner.

Adrian chuckled before assuring her, "In exchange for good material for armour, I will make you some artifacts. Don’t worry."

She has given him quite a lot of Heartstone, so it was only natural that he didn’t act stingy.

Valor: [Then! Should I?!]

Valor seemed unusually excited, urging Adrian to ask, "Can I ask why you’re so hyped up?"

Valor: [I mean, other than being indebted to you, I want to keep a friend safe. And trust me, once you learn a few techniques, you at least can make an escape if things get dangerous.]

Adrian sighed, "Well...if you are so sure about it, then sure. What can I do for you in return?"

[I don’t have anything to request right now so let’s keep this as a favor for now and settle this the next time.]

Adrian hummed.

Valor: [Just give me a moment, I will store the technique in a relic and send it over.]

Adrian hummed, before he asked Forgelet, "Umm...can you give me more bullets?"

Forgelet: [So it was a really intense battle, eh? Well, I was thinking of handing over two boxes anyway.]

"And in return..."

[Hmm~I want something made from apples. Can you make something?]

Whenever she requests, she seems like a child.

Adrian thought for a moment, "How about an apple pie?"

[Yeaaaah~that would be great. I will hand over the bullets right away. And, along with that, some maintenance tools to keep the revolver in shape.]

"Thank you-"

*Knock*

He suddenly heard a knock on the door.

"Okay, I will see you later." He said before closing the chat and advancing towards the door.

"Professor Norma?" He asked upon opening the door

The woman seemed nervous as she said, "Someone had come to meet you."

Adrian hummed but before he could have asked who, a familiar voice called out.

"We meet again."

Adrian turned towards the source of the voice and froze.

Not because of the speaker.

But the woman beside her.

’Why is Annabelle here?!’
