What is a soul ?

In essence, a person dreams, emotions, and thoughts. Essentially, the combination of all previous elements gathers, and that collective is a being soul. A person's identity is their soul.

Not a lot of Senjaku research focuses on the soul, but the ones he managed to get his hands on do give him a good understanding.

But as much so he can see someone's soul, hell, he can't even see his own soul. And throughout his entire time trying to learn about souls, he still can't get near the level he wanted.

And what he wanted most is....the world of a domain.

For some unexplainable reason, Takumi can't activate his domain. He knew he had a soul, and he had many curse techniques, so it was not a problem with talent or skill to use a domain that he had.

No, it is because he or rather. His own soul is the problem.

"Does this mean that only when I can see my soul is when I can use a domain ?"

What use is all his learning if he can't use anything he learns?

He closed the book on his table, another end of the day that leads him nowhere nearer but only further from what he seeks. He went to sleep, and darkness filled his world again.

'But then, if i can't use a domain. Then what else can I use ?' That single thought is what pushes him in a new direction.

The following day, he went out to the same place he used for training.

Takumi has learned everything he can about barriers, now for something much more powerful.

Simple domain, nope. He needs to follow some instructions and a binding vow in order to use it. Their uses were limited to buy some time and can't actually go against a real Domain, so this one is out.

Hollow whisker baskets are just an inferior version of the simple domain. One use is that it can counter the sure-hit effect; he has to use both hands to make a sign that keeps this anti-domain active. Which is not that useful.

Falling flower blossom emotion, this one is just hard for him to learn as it is a secret anti-domain technique from the top clan.

So what can he do ? Back to step one. He looked to the one being who had reached the pinnacle of barriers technique.

Tengen. Who has her domain all over Japan, she was able to create her own type of barrier.

"What if I can do it too ?" He laughed and clasped his hand. "Ah, what do I have to lose anyway?"
