Chap 124: Jujutsu high
The day after, Takumi reached the school entrance, stepping in. He was welcomed by..... no one at all.
"Well, this was anticlimactic." He was very much on time, because it was his first time coming as a teacher after all.
"The staff here is a miserable bunch, i can't see anyone working at this place." Tojiko complaint, her arm carrying Megumi.
"Yeah, well we gotta get you employed somewhere, and this is the only place."
Holding an instruction paper in hand, he walked the empty halls with her. The note stated which place he'll be teaching.
"principal." He muttered as they came to a stop in front of a room, Takumi went in first.
"You must be our new teacher." The voice came from a woman who had in her hands some dolls, one in one hand and a sewing needle in the other.
"Takumi, correct ?" She cast a glance, silently judging him.
"And you must be Principal Yaga." He retorted.
"Quite the principal you are, having me find you." Takumi was facing her, sitting in a dark room.
"I was informed by the Zennin clan that you'll be coming here." She gestures to a folder. "In here is a list of the current students residing at our school."
"Hmm.....Mei Mei and Kusakabe, what the heck, only two students?"
"Yes, those are the only ones that qualified."
"Aren't the numbers too low ? And they aren't even in the same school year."
"All the weaker students have been killed during missions, only they remain."
"So will I be having any colleagues while working here ?"
"No, we're low on staff and the auxiliary unit isn't fit for teaching. Your teaching begins tomorrow, which will give you enough time to learn about your students."
Their conversation was very brief, while Takumi does know Yaga, that connection is only from the show. It does not extend anything beyond that, so he kept it very professional.
Takumi was about to walk out and prepare himself for class when Yaga threw him a question.
"Just before you leave, mind me asking one question ?"
"Sure what is it?"
"Why do you want to join Jujutsu High ?"
"Three things," he held up three fingers. "One is for money; two is for the future, and three is for the ones I love." He gave a very straightforward answer, in a firm tone.
"Satisfied with the answer ?"
"Yes, thank you."
------------
"Ahh~~it feels nice to be home again."
"We are always home."
"Yeah but not...like, you know."
"Yeah....I know."
The two clone bodies did not have a chance to rest as they were picked right off their front house and into a car.
Three hours of driving later, they now set foot in one of the main places in the series. Walking through the giant wooden gate where all the main cast would appear, they arrived at Jujutsu High.
"Ahh but then again, we're not at the Tokyo branch." Takichi's disappointed voice reached no one.
Both clones admire the Japanese architectural structure of this area, despite having such a large zone for almost any activities, including a whole basketball court, a pool, a track field, and buildings serving as dorms, there is a stupitly small number of people who are able to go here.
The main body will be at Tokyo while they'll be here for the current foreseeable future. Why ?
"Hello there." The voice came from an old lady dressed in a traditional shrine maiden clothing, a large white robe and red skirt.
"How may I help you two ?" He presented the old lady with a piece of paper, which she took in one hand, it was signed by the Zennin family seal for its validity.
"Hmm~temporary teaching professor ?" She eyed them both. Seeing a fluctuation in curse energy around their body.
"Very well, please come in. The trip must be exhausting. I'll lead you around the place, oh, and by the way. My name is Shinobu Gakuganji, and I am the principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High School."
""Please to make an acquaintance."" They both replied in a respectful way.
Taking a tour through their facilities, seeing this this place let them know how much cash was funded into this place.
"I can see that the two of you have the approval letter of the Zennin. It's isn't easy to get anything from them."
"You could say we are valuable asset but not too much, i would say." Takune started. The two were trailing right behind her.
"Oh~Valuable how ?" Gakuganji sounded interested in knowing more. Possibly to gather information for the council.
"For one, we are considered to be 2 grade sorcerers." She nodded, the curse energy that these two gave off certainly has that much power. Gakuganji would say that they could even be more than that, but she won't say anything and opted to keep quiet and let them speak.
"We have a brother, he's married into their family." Takichi was quick to explain, the excuse seemed to work as she immediately gave up on her interest.
"Oh, it's one of those." She gave a half-answer, holding a medium tone with a 'knowing' kind of emotion behind it.
The rest of the trip was mostly quiet with her explaining to them the location of each building. They did make some small chit chat on the way, about their upbringing and how well-known their knowledge they are about curse technique.
"I can't help but say." Takune spoke up, "Where are the students?" They have been walking for almost an hour now, and they have yet to see any sight of anyone other than some cleaning staff members.
"Currently out on a mission, they'll be back. But you won't need to meet them for now." Gakuganji explained.
Later, the two ended at the male dormitory side of the school. Two separate rooms for Takichi and Takune to settle in.
"You may rest. Tomorrow, find me again in my office, and we can discuss the student's course schedule." The old woman said before leaving them.
Quickly shutting the doors, the two bodies set up a speedy arrangement for talismans around small, hidden parts of this place.
Never know when someone could be spying on them, especially when they are living with a dog working so loyally for the higher-ups. The vibe that Gakuganji brought them was very....corporate-ish. She acts very much in the interest of the council, not from respect but for the sake of principles and the rules that they hold. They don't have a problem with that, only the council that she works under.
Once finished, Takune drew out of his inventory. A black orb, big as a person, was set down in one of the room corners. It looks strange, but doesn't draw suspicion if not looked at directly. Actually, all Jujutsu sorcerers are weirdos, so he having it in the room won't be too out of the ordinary.
Next is an immediate effect that takes place as shadows under their feet morph and change. The two bodies allowed the living darkness to swallow them into it. Disappearing from their room without anyone noticing.
