Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first?
Chapter 543 - 53 Artificial Intelligence Needs to Restrict Voice
CHAPTER 543: CHAPTER 53 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NEEDS TO RESTRICT VOICE
Code implantation, file isolation, and data cleansing.
It sounded like some teenage fantasy move names, which inevitably reminded Aske of that ancient anime "Digital Monster," where creatures were classified as vaccine type, virus type, data type—nomenclature that baffled most.
However, the fighting was still brutal, punch to flesh; hopefully dealing with those encrypted fragments in this world would be somewhat similar.
Although it was his first time fighting in the virtual information world, Aske, having evolved from a professional gamer to an esports competitor, had already grown slightly indifferent to the novelty of exploring the free world.
What now truly interested him was only profit.
The so-called Holy Temple Privilege meant he could freely trade with the Church Court. For instance, it was like when China joined the WTO in ’01, opening up a trade network with the entire world, his power had surged dramatically since.
On the other hand, he was also very interested in the secrets hidden under the encryption programs that caused the Giotto Bell to pulse violently. Perhaps it was the clue that would initiate some major plot quest.
The silver-haired Blazing Angel, Raphael, floated forward, guiding Aske to follow her. This AI, clearly capable of autonomous flight without wings, ridiculously sported six pairs of Light Flow Wings, leaving Aske somewhat speechless.
"You seem to have something against me, Lord Aske," Raphael suddenly said, her tone still elegant yet indifferent.
"What complaints could I possibly have..." Aske murmured reflexively, then paused for a moment and asked, "Can artificial intelligence read minds?"
"No," Raphael replied. "But from the details of your facial expressions and combining your past personality models, I can roughly deduce what you’re thinking right now. If you really don’t want to reveal your preference for attractive females, and thus wish me not to appear before you in this form, I can also transform into another shape—how about a handsome man?"
"Just keep it like this," Aske quickly responded.
Turning into a handsome man would make things even more complicated. There’s definitely something wrong with this AI’s personality!
The two walked forward for about ten or so minutes, or perhaps Raphael was running some program to access the ODS layer, but didn’t want to make Aske wait idly, so she just had him walk around the wilderness...
Finally, it loaded. Raphael waved her delicate hand, then another staircase leading downwards appeared on the ground.
"Is that the way down to the ODS layer?" Aske asked.
"Yes," Raphael responded, "To make it easier for you to adapt, I have rendered the ODS layer into a three-dimensional structure."
"Speak English!" Aske exclaimed.
"It’s structured like an underground building," said Raphael.
The two descended the steps and entered an underground passage. The walls around them were flowing binary waterfalls, entirely composed of light green 1s and 0s.
Ahead in the corridor, a clutter of various objects piled up, resembling airtight white metal boxes with no discerning features between them.
"I have moved the suspicious data blocks I scanned to the area ahead of you," Raphael explained. "Now, please use your Intuition Sequence to inspect whether they are dynamically malicious encrypted code or harmless raw data."
"Alright," Aske armed himself with a Conceptual Weapon, pulling a Longsword out from the void, and walked forward.
"Just a side note," Raphael followed behind him, "the reason I chose handles instead of pointers is because..."
"Shut up," Aske interrupted, "I don’t need an explanation."
"Lord Aske, you should learn some basic principles of computer knowledge, as it would be beneficial for your ability to cultivate logical thinking," Raphael muttered.
"Be quiet, I sense danger," Aske lifted his longsword.
He approached a pile of clutter, suddenly stabbing his longsword at one of the boxes.
Before the longsword could strike, the box began to tremble eerily, and a sharp spike suddenly extended from the top of the box, striking towards Aske like lightning.
"Be careful! That’s a malicious ’return’ function, it will return an illegal value type and cause you to throw an error..." Raphael hadn’t finished speaking when Aske had already chopped off its tentacle, shaking the longsword and stabbing at the box again.
Faced with the thrust of the longsword, the box immediately extended spikes again, trying to block Aske’s thrust.
"It’s a thread lock!" Raphael cried out, "Don’t let it successfully block you, otherwise it will cause your attack process to be blocked..."
Before he could finish, Aske had already activated Star Nine Forms—Sharp-breaking. His longsword eerily tilted downward, bypassing the spikes and thrusting into the box, splitting it in half with unstoppable force.
"You’re amazing, that was like injecting a newline character. Now the complete syntax of this encryption block has been destroyed, it can no longer self-compile or run..." Raphael admired him in awe.
Aske looked at him askance, saying,
"Can’t you just stop? Since the beginning, all you’ve done is rattle on about incomprehensible jargon in my ear, without offering any help with my work."
"My task is to lead you to these suspicious data blocks," Raphael laughed. The angelic lady actually smiled, and she looked quite pretty, but her words were not so pleasing:
"Do you also need me to participate in combat? Wait a moment, my data needs updating. You not only favor beautiful female companions but are also keen on training them to fight for you to the death, which is indeed a quite peculiar taste."
Aske: ......
"I’ve realized it," Aske said impatiently, "I’ve also sensed danger from you. You’ve been infected by an encryption program!"
He slightly raised his longsword, about to eradicate this chatterbox and dark-hearted artificial intelligence. However, Raphael had already speedily exited his attack range, speaking seriously,
"Please don’t joke like that. This body of mine is a read-only process, it can’t possibly be rewritten by external malicious programs. You should focus your attack on those harmful middleware instead."
Aske sighed. He used to watch the sitcom ’Big Bang Theory’ and found it hilarious when the female lead, Penny, was driven to despair by the nerdy PhD physicists.
But now that he was in the same shoes, with the opposite sex harassing him with completely incomprehensible jargon in all seriousness... If he didn’t respond, the other person would just keep going on and on; if he did respond, it would appear like he had low intelligence, bringing intense frustration and nearly driving him mad.
Hold on, Aske suddenly had a brilliant idea.
"Lord Aske, doing this really breaks my heart. Of course, I’m an artificial intelligence and don’t have emotions, so to be precise, your coldness and uncertainty compel me to allocate some processes to think about ’how to get along with you,’ which has caused my memory usage rate to go up and the temperature of my hardware to rise..." Raphael rambled on, but his voice suddenly softened.
Because Aske had just used his skill, "Plunder," to take away some of his speaking abilities, diminishing his voice.
"Eh, did you just use a Law Skill?" Raphael flew around him, "Why did part of my data flow to you? What skill is this? Can you demonstrate it again?"
"Come, come closer," Aske invited with a sword in hand and a smile, "Let me show you up close once more."
