CHAPTER 227: CHAPTER 227: KNOWING THE ENEMY

The downside of this plan as that if the meteorite fell into the wrong hands, it would bring an even bigger disaster.

Luckily, it was precisely Commander Leng who had found the meteorite first.

Now that she had her memories, all of them, she remembered something the silhouette in the light said the last time they were in the mansion.

Some people were remembering things they shouldn’t. Now she knew who and what things it was talking about.

Some of the traitors must have hitched a ride in the city, sent into a different space and had awakened.

They were probably responsible for the apocalypse this time. However, now they had the advantage. They were in the dark and the enemy was in the light.

They could use that to eliminate the minions first before a full-blown war takes place again.

They could also train and arm an army that would fight with them to completely eliminate the aliens and zombies this time along with the traitors.

"Baby, have you remembered something else?" Lu Zhen thought that he might be the only one who had regained his memories and because they were too painful, he didn’t want his wife to suffer.

So, he hoped that she hadn’t remembered anything else, but he was only going to be disappointed.

"I remember everything. I can’t believe we went through something so earth-shattering.

I am sorry about making the decision to sacrifice myself without talking to you first. I promise that it won’t happen again." Leng Pan thought that it was better to apologize first before her husband starts to settle scores.

If she were in his shoes, he would be in big trouble. Even though she thought that she had made the right decision that bought humans thousands of years to recover, she failed to care about the person closest to her.

So, she felt that apologizing first would lessen any punishment that might come her way.

Well, the punishment was less, but she had to pass out in bed twice before Lu Zhen let her go.

In fact, it wasn’t much of a punishment as Lu Zhen was using sex as a way to vent his frustrations about his woman being too headstrong and also to make sure that he wasn’t dreaming.

They had made it through two lifetimes and we’re still together.

It was already noon when the two finally left the bed to take a shower and eat.

Lu Zhen also took a few minutes to call his brother and let the family know that they were safe. He promised to call again after they explored the so-called lab.

After eating a heavy brunch, the two left the space and went out to look around the village again.

Back home, Lu Tao was busy working on something that no one knew about. His tech abilities had gone beyond what anyone in the world could achieve even with strict training.

When her mother looked at the pendant Lu Zhen was wearing around his neck and heard her talk about the Li family inheritance or something like that, he got curious and took a photo of it.

He had been using a small device he made that almost duplicated something instead of simply taking a photo.

He had been using his skills to decipher the mystery of the pendant and he was getting somewhere.

He had already realized that there was something similar to plasma inside the pendant that was invisible to the naked eye.

There was also something similar to genetic data inside the plasma and that was what he was trying to decode.

As he worked seriously, a message that he believed came from that pendant flashed on his screen.

’If you are reading this....then subject L-01 has returned. Project rebirth has begun.’ That was all he got.

No matter how much he tried to decode further, nothing happened. Thus, he took a deep breath and went to find his uncle.

Uncle Li seemed to know more than he was letting on.

He found Li Han sitting in the living room with his wife and sister and went to show him the message.

When Uncle Li saw what was written on the screen, he took a deep breath.

"It looks like my hope that this was just some random virus is dashed." Li Han said sadly.

"Big brother, what do you mean?" Li Yunjia asked her brother the question Lu Tao wanted to ask the most.

"The lab that Lu Zhen and his wife went to is not as simple as you think." He said.

"What does that mean uncle?" Lu Tao was impatient to know the details.

"That facility wasn’t forgotten. It was buried.... because what was inside was too dangerous to control." Uncle Li explained to his nephew.

"Then what about Ah Zhen and Panpan? They went to such a dangerous place. What if something happens to them? What am I supposed to do?" Li Yunjia was panicking at this point. She didn’t know what she would do if anything happened to those two children.

"Don’t worry, if there is anyone who can deal with what is in that lab, it is those two. That thing wouldn’t have even have a chance to do anything to them before it is eliminated.

I just hope that they will get some answers before eliminating it." Uncle Li remembered when he worked in that Lab as the head of security and the things that happened there.

It was not a light decision for him to betray the trust of his superiors and seal that place.

He had to make some sacrifices which included killing some renowned scientists who used their knowledge for the wrong purpose.

He was pretty sure that the apocalypse had something to do with some of the things that happened in that lab.

He just hoped that the soldiers who came out of that place still maintain their original intention of serving their country and the people.
