CHAPTER 243: CHAPTER 243: THE EXPERIMENTS IN THE MILITARY BASE

"Maybe I can make something that can spy on the bases and find out everything going on." Lu Tao suggested. His hacking and computing ability seemed to have skyrocketed after touching that meteorite.

Now, he was sure that he could build something so simple in less than two days.

Everyone at the table turned to look at him.

"Can you build something that won’t be discovered?" Leng Pan asked.

As long as they could get news from within the base, then they didn’t have to go there.

"Yes, I can. It will be ready in two days." Lu Tao reassured everyone.

In fact, he already had several designs in mind and was thinking about what materials to use to make sure it worked perfectly in all situations to avoid failure during the critical moment.

"Then make a few. We may need to spy on several places." Lu Zhen said after some thought.

It was better this way than going to the base.

"But how is the president involved in something so harmful to the country and the people?" Auntie Li asked with puzzlement because she couldn’t imagine something like that happening.

They voted for the current president because he was compassionate and put the needs of the citizens before his own. Was he just being a hypocrite or did the apocalypse change him?

"According to Ouyang Jin’s investigation, the president provided most of the resources for this experiment. So, do you still think he isn’t involved?" Lu Zhen asked when he heard his aunt’s question.

Now everyone was shocked. The president was the last person they expected to betray them and exploit citizens.

"Then doesn’t that mean that the safe base they are encouraging people to go to is a trap too? They are luring more fat sheep into the base for their experiments." Uncle Li commented.

He was more accepting than his sister and wife. After everything they had experienced, he didn’t put it past any human to turn traitor or criminal.

"Indeed, but they won’t be too ostentatious about it. They will try to cover their tracks so it is better to find a way to tell those going to the base to form groups or teams.

This way, they will be familiar with each other and if anyone from their team disappeared, then they will know what to do." Lu Zhen expressed his thoughts.

This was what he had thought about after hearing the announcement regarding the safe base.

"That’s a good idea. Since the people can’t avoid going to the military base for their own safety, it is indeed better to take precautions and move in groups." Uncle Li agreed with his nephew on that suggestion.

"Did your friend tell you anything else? Is there a way we can help to eliminate that base? Because if we can take it down earlier, then the citizens will be safer." Uncle Li went on to ask further.

Even though he had left the military many years ago, he still had the heart of a soldier. He wanted to protect his country and the people.

"It looks like a friend of his was also captured to be experimented on. That’s actually how he came to know that there were two types of experiments.

However, the friend is something akin to a spy and can handle himself. So, instead of escaping, he decided to stay and wait for a while so that he could collect some information." Leng Pan explained because she knew that her husband wouldn’t bother to talk so much.

"So, is it possible to send those gadgets you are going to make to the lab they are in so that we can collect data and find out those involved?" Uncle Li asked again while looking at his younger nephew.

"Yes, it’s possible. We just need to investigate the place with the highest concentration of chemical fumes within the military base and we will know the location of the lab. Then infiltration will be easy." Lu Tao didn’t think it was challenging to find the lab and collect data.

In fact, he was looking forward to acting like a spy in a movie.
