CHAPTER 278: CHAPTER 278: ALIENS

"Commander Lu!" Surprised gasps could be heard around the room as soon as Lu Zhen revealed his face.

The new members, aka, laboratory escapees didn’t understand what was going on, especially for those who had been following celebrities and finance news before the apocalypse.

They knew who Lu Zhen was and he was a business man, definitely not a soldier. So, they didn’t understand why the others would call him Commander Lu.

However, seeing the happy faces of everyone here, it didn’t seem a mistake, calling him that.

In that case, did he have another identity that the outside world didn’t know about? That wasn’t impossible. People had hidden identities all the time, so Lu Zhen having the identity of an army commander wasn’t that surprising.

"How are you guys doing?" Lu Zhen asked with a smile.

Seeing his old comrades, he was happy to be fighting with them again, despite the circumstances.

He wondered why they hadn’t recovered their memories earlier and only did it after the apocalypse started.

"We are doing great, Commander Lu." Zai Zai jumped to reply before anyone else.

While Su Yan’s idol was Leng Pan, Zai Zai’s was Lu Zhen.

He had worshipped him for two lifetimes. Even when he was just a businessman and hadn’t recovered his memories, he still thought that Lu Zhen was the most macho man.

"Commander Lu, where is Commander Leng? The captain said that you two were finally together. Why didn’t you come with her?" Su Yan decided to ask about her idol when she realized that nobody would help her ask.

"Panpan stayed back home. It’s too cold outside and there is no need for her to leave the house at this point. You can meet her some other time." Lu Zhen was kind to his comrades and would not snub them the way he did with others.

For people who have fought life-and-death battles together, they were closer than family and would be treated so.

Even though they hadn’t started fighting in this life, they all had the memories of the previous life and it felt like yesterday they were fighting.

So, they felt closer even at this point.

"Oh, indeed the weather has changed so suddenly that it might cause problems if she was exposed." Su Yan understood and didn’t ask anymore.

She knew that it was dangerous for a normal human body to be exposed to such cold weather.

They weren’t like those aliens who triggered this type of weather but weren’t affected by it or..... Su Yan’s thoughts came to an abrupt end and she jumped to her feet with a surprised look on her face.

The others were so shocked that they nearly ran for the door.

"How could we forget about that?" Su Yan asked in a barely audible whisper.

The others looked at her strangely, even Lu Zhen was confused.

"Su Yan, what happened to you?" Momo asked after coming back to her senses.

"You guys don’t remember either, right?" Su Yan asked while scanning everyone there.

"Can you be more straightforward? What nonsense are you talking about exactly?" Zai Zai couldn’t take it anymore seeing her acting so mysterious and almost shouted.

Seeing that no one seemed to have come to the realization, Su Yan decided to just say it.

"This change in weather, don’t you find it familiar and also weird?" She asked and everyone went into contemplation mode.

They knew that even though Su Yan was playful, she wouldn’t joke about something so serious.

As they thought, Lu Zhen felt as if a light bulb had been turned on in his mind and an idea became clear.

Even a steady man like him sucked in a sharp breath. When the others heard him, they knew that he had discovered something.

"Commander Lu, what did you remember?" Ouyang Jin asked since Su Yan wasn’t telling them directly.

He knew that Lu Zhen wouldn’t play such games and would just tell them what he had found out right away.

"Aliens." Lu Zhen only said one word, but everyone else except the laboratory escapees understood.

"Shit! How could we have forgotten about that?" Zai Zai was cussing as he slapped his own thigh.

The others were just the same. They were all surprised that no one had thought of this before.

"But when did they show up? Before or during the meteor shower?" Momo asked thoughtfully.

"I am guessing it’s during the meteor shower. They must have mixed in and confused everyone.

We all focused on the meteorites not knowing that something else had come into the earth with them." Lu Zhen said as he drummed the arm of his seat, something he usually did when he was thinking about something significant.

"That is dangerous. In that case, we are far behind than we thought." Momo commented.

"Momo is right, if those things are already here, then they are ahead of us by a mile. We need to act fast." Ouyang Jin echoed his companion as well.

As their discussion went deep, the laboratory escapees got even more confused.

They didn’t understand what these people were talking about. All this talk about aliens and stuff was confusing.

However, seeing how serious the discussion was, they didn’t dare to interrupt and ask the question burning in their minds.

They waited until the group finished discussing strategies that they didn’t understand before finally asking.

"Mr, Ouyang, what are you guys talking about? What are aliens or whatever you guys are talking about?" Mr. Flames, who had exchanged a few words with Vanish, asked on behalf of the others.

When he spoke, Lu Zhen looked at him and also scrutinized the other six people.

These were new faces that didn’t belong to their old team, so they should be newly recruited members.

The fact that Ouyang Jin let them sit in on such important discussions meant that they were at least trustworthy on the surface.

When they felt Lu Zhen’s scrutinizing gaze, the few people became restless and almost couldn’t sit still.
