Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse
Chapter 285: Stupid Humans
CHAPTER 285: CHAPTER 285: STUPID HUMANS
Leng Pan could not determine whether it was because her subconscious mind was thinking about using them to kill zombies or because these mimicry had spirit and could think by themselves but she hadn’t expected their fierce attacks.
Just like how she would kill zombies, the four versions of herself were working hard to kill.
However, they only lasted for ten minutes before turning into mist and disappearing into the air.
Even though this might seem like a short time, but in a big battle, they could make a huge difference.
Thus, Leng Pan made a decision to train her ability to create mimicry. The more she could create with enough energy to last a longer time, the better.
Since she had exhausted quite a bit of energy when she was creating those four, she took out crystal cores that had been soaked in spiritual spring water and began to absorb them.
While absorbing the essence of the crystal cores, she was also absorbing water from the atmosphere.
There was so much humidity due to the falling snow that she didn’t need to soak in a bathtub to absorb water like before.
Even sitting inside the shop, she could absorb it.
Lu Zhen, Janna, and Juan Ke, who were standing to the side after taking everything from the shop, each found a spot to sit down and wait for her to finish what she was doing.
Because Janna was using her physical strength to fight and kill the zombies, she didn’t need to recover spiritual energy and would get better after resting.
Because of the bad weather, the few of them didn’t need to worry about attacks from powerful zombies or other survivors.
However, even if they knew they would be attacked, they probably wouldn’t care at all. After all, their strength spoke for itself.
After the two women in the group recovered, they didn’t go back home but continued forward.
Since it was training, they had to at least train for a while longer since they had left the house late anyway.
After walking for a while they heard some noise coming from a distance and decided to go and take a look. If there was something good, maybe they could get a share.
Thus, four people who looked like bears because of how heavily dressed they were could be seen running on the damaged road covered in snow with two girls running at the front and two men following behind leisurely.
They stopped running when they heard the noise getting close and walked stealthily there.
There were two groups of people facing each other and arguing about who should get what inside a clothes store.
It was a second-hand clothes store that most people in those two groups would probably not have looked at a few months ago.
However, at that moment, they were fighting over who had the right to choose first in order of arrival.
One of the women in the first group claimed that they had found the shop first and should be able to choose what they wanted first before the other group could.
However, another woman from the second group was having none of that as she also argued that even though the first group arrived first, they were still stuck outside due to lack of tools to open the door.
She said that if they hadn’t lent a hand and helped to open the door, then the first group would still be outside stranded.
So, both of them should choose clothes depending on their own needs.
What would happen if the first group chose first and took everything they needed, then what would have been the use in helping to open the door?
Leng Pan listened to the argument between the two women and understood what had happened.
However, she couldn’t understand why they had to waste time arguing with each other over something so trivial instead of taking what they needed or could and leaving.
Wasn’t this inviting trouble? She decided to teach them a lesson so that they won’t do something so pointless the next time.
She turned to look at her companions and said, "Let’s get some more clothes in case we need them later. Janna, do you have enough warm clothes and beddings? If not, let’s get you some.
Don’t worry about carrying them, I have a small space I can use to store stuff. So, don’t shy away from picking what you want." Anyone would have thought that Leng Pan was distributing her stuff.
Lu Zhen looked at the little woman who was teaching the young girl how to take over other people’s supplies and smiled.
In the apocalypse, the strong survive and the weak perish. Even though they wanted to save as many people as possible, there was no need to bother about stupid people.
They would get killed sooner or later due to their stupidity and probably implicate others.
So, he didn’t care whether the people inside would be angry that the things they found would be taken away.
Janna listened to what her idol said and nodded. She would do whatever Leng Pan told her to do.
"Alright, let’s go in then." Leng Pan said when she heard the people inside still arguing.
She really couldn’t understand why these people would stand in there and argue over something so trivial when the shop was so big.
Instead of taking whatever they wanted and leaving, they were arguing and their voices were getting louder. Weren’t they afraid of attracting zombies?
After making the decision, Leng Pan swaggered into the shop as if she didn’t hear the people inside.
The others followed behind her and everyone began to choose what they wanted without a care.
The people who had been arguing stopped talking and turned to look at the four who had walked into the shop.
They were so shocked by the audacity of the four people that they forgot to argue and kept quiet.
The arguing women almost had their jaws dropping to the ground.
"How can you just walk in and start taking our things?" It wasn’t even the women who had been arguing who spoke but a thin man.
He seemed to be in his twenties but it was hard to say with the way his skin looked rough and dark.
Leng Pan didn’t bother to reply to him and pushed a cart as if she was doing regular shopping.
"Hey, we are talking to you." Another man said louder, but he still didn’t get a response.
One man who looked somewhat buff from the second group couldn’t take it anymore and went to Leng Pan who was closest to them and tried to grab her arm to question him.
Who would have thought that he would suddenly feel a sense of crisis and heat heading towards his outstretched hand.
Without thinking, he jumped backwards only to witness a ball of fire pass through where his arm had been and drop to the ground.
The concrete floor of the shop was burnt into soil at the spot where the ball of flame landed.
This was the first time they had all witnessed something like that. Even though they had superpower users among them and had even witnessed some who were strong, they hadn’t expected to come across such a strong person.
After they witnessed what happened with their own eyes, no one dared to provoke them anymore.
Even though they were dissatisfied with their act of walking in and robbing what others had found, they couldn’t do anything about it.
This was the difference between the strong and the weak. No matter what they thought, Leng Pan and her companions didn’t care.
They even started to discuss what they wanted or what they thought their teammates might want.
The two women who had been arguing were actually two young misses from wealthy families but their families had been caught off guard by the apocalypse and didn’t have any accumulated resources for survival.
As such, they had been forced to become like other normal people who would have to go out and scavenge for supplies.
However, even in their situation, they had never been treated so badly with such discourteous behavior.
It was the reason they were so shocked to see what Leng Pan and the others did. They had been getting ready to gang up and teach them a lesson when they witnessed their companion who almost touched Leng nearly get burnt to ashes.
Seeing such attack power, they didn’t dare to raise their voice at all.
They had to swallow their grievances and shut their mouths no matter how angry they were.
After Leng Pan and her team were done, they walked towards the door as if nothing had happened.
However, when she passed by those women, she stopped and looked at them.
"This is what happens when you become selfish. If you had compromised and given way to each other, you would have chosen what you need a long time ago and left.
You wouldn’t have given someone else who came later the opportunity to take the things you could have gotten.
Also, continue arguing and attract zombies to surround you."
