CHAPTER 305: CHAPTER 305: ABSORBING WOOD ESSENCE

It would be even worse if it fell into the hands of the human traitors like Commander Qui who had been searching for one, or the aliens.

Even though such things came from the planet where the aliens came from, they shouldn’t have many of them and must be in need of such things that could increase strength.

If such a thing fell into their hands, then their power on earth would probably grow.

Hence, whatever was in that room must be taken by them no matter what.

As they were still a distance away from the building of interest, Lu Zhen thought that it was better to first get their hands on whatever was in that building before dealing with the zombies.

He looked around and saw that there were other buildings around them.

"Auntie, can you grow some plants or vines to help us climb on top of this building?" He asked as he pointed at one of the shorter buildings.

It was ten stories tall and was significantly shorter compared to the others that reached up to thirty stories high.

Auntie Li didn’t ask any questions and simply nodded as she looked to see if there was a tree she could use.

However, almost everything was covered in snow and couldn’t be identified.

Lu Zhen saw her dilemma and used heat from his palm to melt the snow within a small area.

Some bushes that should have been used for landscaping and decoration purposes before were revealed.

Without wasting any time, Auntie Li stretched out her and wood energy flowed out and into one of the bushes.

She kept pouring spiritual energy into the plant that started to grow maniacally and soon was no longer a bush but a tree.

Even when it had grown up to thirty feet tall, the tree was still shooting up.

It wasn’t until it had reached the top of the building that auntie Li stopped.

However, she began using her superpower to weave the branches into a staircase. This was the first time she was attempting to do something so complicated but she still didn’t stop.

When the staircase reached the top and extended on to the roof, she finally stopped.

However, she had completely exhausted her spiritual power and didn’t even have the strength to move her feet.

"Why didn’t you stop earlier? We could have figured out something." Uncle Li reprimanded his wife but he was already gathering her in his arms and carried her princess style before stepping on to the staircase she had created.

It was surprising that the staircase was very stable and wasn’t slippery. Walking on it even with his wife in his arms wasn’t challenging at all.

Seeing her brother walk on the staircase, Li Yunjia followed behind him and the others followed suit.

Lu Zhen brought up the rear as he set on fire the zombies trying to attack them as they left.

It wasn’t until they had all reached the top that Leng Pan gave her aunt an idea.

"Auntie, you used your own spiritual energy to grow this tree and weave the staircase, why don’t you try absorbing the essence out of them?" Of course this was just an idea that came out of the blue and had never been tried before.

Leng Pan just thought that since it was wood energy, it might be possible, especially since it came from her aunt.

The others were shocked by her suggestion but when they saw some of the zombies using the staircase to follow them, they thought that it might be a good idea.

Auntie Li was skeptical, but she still had her husband put her down before she tried to absorb the wood essence from the tree the same way she usually absorbs crystal cores.

To everyone’s surprise, the leaves on the tree started to change color from a vibrant green to a dull green and as time went by, they turned yellow.

It took almost twenty minutes and by the time Auntie Li was done, the tree she had grown just a while ago had turned into dead branches that would break with a little touch.

On the other hand, auntie Li had completely recovered. Her spiritual energy was restored and she could even go to battle immediately.

This speed in recovery was astonishing. There was only one other person in that group with the same ability and that was Leng Pan.

With all the snow around them, all she had to do was open her pores and without even meditating, water spiritual energy would come rushing into her body like a tide.

The ability really made others jealous. Nevertheless, it was a good thing that they had such people with them because if something unexpected happened, there were people who could still retain strength to protect the others.

"Let’s see if you are able to absorb the essence of other plants that haven’t been grown using your ability." Leng Pan wanted to verify if this ability could be used without restrictions.

"Sure, let me try, but there aren’t any trees or plants here now. Let’s go look for some.

Ah Zhen, why did you want us to come to the top of the building? Why are we not fighting those zombies down there?" Auntie Li was not opposed to the little experiment but she understood that they needed to solve their current predicament and also do what brought them out in the first place.

"These zombies aren’t surrounding that building for no reason. You can see that they are not even interested in food that has delivered itself to them.

There must be something of significance in there that is attracting all their attention and something that could completely seduce these zombies so much is nothing good.

Especially in the hands of enemies, and zombies are one of our enemies. We need to get into that building and take whatever they want." Leng Pan answered on behalf of her husband because she knew that he would say two words and leave everyone hanging.
