CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: ATTORNEY NOLAN, COME SOLVE THIS FOR ME!

"Now you’re just an ordinary colleague, why should I tell you?"

Elias Spencer glanced down at her fingers hooked on his belt and asked coolly, "Do you like to randomly feel up your ordinary colleague?"

He shouldn’t have said anything. As soon as he did, Summer Nolan’s fingers became even more daring, slowly sliding down. While flirting, she tiptoed closer to his ear.

Infuriatingly, she replied, "Yeah, I like it, so what?"

She loved teasing this aloof man. Watching him get flustered, or seeing his steady face change color, gave her a certain pleasure and sense of accomplishment.

"Attorney Spencer, you really can’t handle teasing. Look at you, I haven’t even done anything yet, and you’re like this already?"

Summer Nolan glanced down at him, bursting into laughter, her face full of pride and mockery.

Elias Spencer’s jawline tightened, his long and deep-set eyes glanced down at her, then quickly lifted, gazing at her with indifference.

Summer nonchalantly withdrew her hand, ready to return to her seat, leaving him in an awkward situation. Hmph, with all his cases, wasn’t it easy to snatch some from him?

Why get mad at him?

Yet she hadn’t taken two steps before he suddenly pulled her back!

Her back collided with his hard body.

"Ugh..." She grunted, about to turn and push him away when he suddenly pinned her against the conference table, leaning toward her ear, his tone cold and domineering:

"Attorney Nolan, deal with this mess you caused yourself!"

The man’s upper and lower bodies certainly had distinct functions; his mind focused on business while his lower body had its own ideas.

Upon hearing his words, Summer Nolan’s ears instantly turned red. Solve it for him—was it the way she understood?

Did he want her to do that in someone else’s group conference room—?

No, it’s not about the location. They were exes, so why should she solve this for him?!

Was he trying to take advantage of her for nothing?

"In your dreams, let go." She snorted coldly, yanking at his hand, but he caught her wrists and pinned them behind her back, impossible to escape.

Like a captive.

That damn man always liked to make her feel like a captive, really such a jerk and a pervert!

Summer turned her head to glare angrily at the man behind her, embarrassed and annoyed.

Want to know why she liked to throw things?

Because in close combat, she couldn’t beat this man. Every ’close combat’ left her defeated and furious!

Elias Spencer seriously gave her a choice: "Attorney Nolan, where do you want to use?"

"We’ve already broken up. How does this count?" she snorted coldly.

He held both her wrists in one hand, the other hand sliding from her white neck to the front, causing Summer’s body to tremble uncontrollably, suddenly letting out a sound:

"Ugh..."

She immediately bit her lip, feeling even more embarrassed!

"..." Elias Spencer looked down, watching her reaction, very satisfied.

His large hand suddenly slipped inside her white shirt. As she had teased him, he returned the favor, yet his voice was composed and cold as he retorted,

"Teasing me after breaking up? And then planning to walk away without consequences? Where’s such a bargain in this world?"

Summer only felt a tingling sensation spreading from her chest like ripples, causing all her hair to stand on end.

Her heartbeat accelerated uncontrollably, her fair face turning bright red—

"Elias Spencer! I’m not letting you off!"

She lowered her angry voice, eyes nervously fixed on the door, afraid someone might suddenly come in. This was the first time he’d teased her after their breakup.

"Attorney Nolan... someone asking for help should have the attitude of someone seeking help," Elias Spencer said in a low voice.

"Ask you for help? Ha, in your dreams!"

Summer scoffed. He made her lose two cases, often opposed her, annoyed her, bullied her, never coaxed her, and still wanted her to ask him for help?

Elias Spencer raised an eyebrow slightly at her firm attitude. His large hand rested on her black skirt, preparing for the next step, causing her to panic, biting her teeth, and angrily spat out two words:

"...Fine, you win!!"

"Just two words?" he asked, dissatisfied.

What else did he expect?

"...I was wrong!" Summer spat out the three words through gritted teeth, determined to deal with this damn man once she was free.

She admitted she was wrong?

Those three words sounded quite pleasant to the ears. It wasn’t easy making a proud and stubborn woman utter them, so Elias Spencer released her.

Summer flexed her wrists, which he had left red, gritting her teeth, suddenly turned around to swing a fist at his handsome face. But before it landed, his large hand enveloped it.

As she raised her other hand to smack his handsome face, unsurprisingly, he caught that wrist too!

Suddenly, he pinned her to the conference table again.

She twisted her two hands, which he held down firmly.

Completely unable to resist.

Summer glared angrily at the man above her, suddenly smiling,

"You jerk, I was just kidding with you, testing your reflexes. Why so serious?"

Jerk?

Elias Spencer heard her words, three black lines sliding down his forehead. She really was capable of adaptability—

"Get up quickly, what if someone sees us?" She coaxed him gently again.

"Will you behave after you get up?" Trusting her was a fool’s errand.

"Are you planning to keep pressing me all day? No work?"

Summer asked with a smile. Just as she finished speaking, a knock came on the conference room door, her heart instantly jumping to her throat. Was this damn man not getting up?!

Elias Spencer glanced at the door, finally releasing her hands without haste.

Summer immediately flipped up from the table, narrowed her eyes, and as a first act of revenge, she wrapped an arm around his neck, biting it!

"Ugh..." Elias Spencer frowned, grunting as though needles were piercing his skin, pushing her away slightly. Were her teeth those of a dog?

Suddenly hearing the sound of the doorknob turning, Summer immediately let go of him. As the conference room door opened, a female secretary saw them standing so close and paused—

What were they doing just now?

Why hadn’t anyone answered when she knocked on the door?

"Is there something you need?" Elias Spencer asked coldly, looking at her.

"Oh, Mr. Forest asked us to make sure to take care of you two well. I made two cups of coffee; Attorney Spencer and Attorney Nolan have been working all morning, maybe you need a pick-me-up." The female secretary explained while bringing the coffee over.

She placed one cup where Summer had been sitting, then carried the other cup over to Elias Spencer, sneaking a glance at him, and suddenly pretended to stumble, spilling coffee on his lower belly!

"I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!" The female secretary set down the coffee cup and immediately turned to grab some paper towels, intending to wipe him—

"Ha..." Summer couldn’t help but laugh, this splashing was quite accurate, she wondered if it had cooked enough?

Elias Spencer glanced coldly at the unfamiliar female secretary, waved away her hand, not allowing her to touch him, and spoke two words in a deep voice,

"Get out."
