CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: WHY SHOULD I LET YOU WATCH FOR FREE?

Summer Nolan, with wide eyes, snapped out of her shock, immediately covering herself with her hands, squatting on the bed and wrapping herself with a quilt!

She looked up, gritting her teeth at the man, irritated. She suddenly grabbed his belt with one hand, "You take it off and show me now!!!"

Elias Spencer looked at her angry expression, almost unable to hold back his laughter, as he caught her hand pulling at his belt. "You’re the one who wants to stay bare in front of me, what’s it got to do with me?"

"I don’t care if you got a free show?" She felt unbalanced inside, why did she have to give him a free look? Didn’t she care about her own dignity?

She shook off his hand, stubbornly trying to pull at his belt.

"Are you sure you want me to take it off for you to see?" He gazed at her intently, he wasn’t one to be seen for free; if she saw, she shouldn’t expect him to dress quickly.

Summer understood the implication in his words, pursed her lips, and looked at him angrily, feeling upset but also fearing he’d take advantage of her again if he undressed—

"If you’re scared, don’t sit on the bed. Hurry up and go wash up." Elias said in a deep voice, then walked to the door. Upon opening it, the bodyguard immediately handed him two bags.

He had called the bodyguard last night.

Summer, wrapped in the quilt, got off the bed and rudely snatched the bags from his hand, heading to the bathroom.

A half-hour later, after they finished freshening up, Summer opened the guest room door, ready to leave, only to see Raymond Dawson standing in front of the opposite guest room!

She wanted to close the door, but it was too late. Dawson had already seen her and was walking over!

Standing behind her, Elias, seeing her blocking the doorway and not moving, asked coldly, "Frozen here..."

Summer broke out in a cold sweat, and before he finished speaking, she suddenly kicked back at his calf while smiling and greeting Dawson, walking out and closing the door:

"Director Dawson, what a coincidence, you didn’t go back last night either?"

Did he know Elias was in my guest room? Surely he didn’t see last night?

"I had a few drinks last night and stayed here. Didn’t expect Attorney Nolan to be on this floor too." He looked at the guest room behind her, a mischievous smile on his face, as if he heard a man’s voice earlier.

However, why did it sound a bit like Elias Spencer’s voice?

"It’s quite the coincidence, Director Dawson. You’re heading back to the city, right? Let’s go together." Summer wanted to take him away, worried he was already suspicious after Elias spoke.

The surveillance on this floor must be dealt with.

"Is there a man in Attorney Nolan’s room? Why not have him join us for breakfast? Don’t be shy. We are all adults, I understand." He was eager to see who she spent the night with.

Unexpectedly, this woman, who seemed so proper on the surface, was quite the libertine in private. But then, such a person is indeed in the same boat as him!

Inside the room, Elias heard their conversation and took out his phone from his pocket, sending a message to the bodyguard to deal with the floor’s and last night’s elevator surveillance.

He could have taken this opportunity to deliberately come out for the old fox to see, effortlessly compelling her to leave the law firm, and at the same time, breaking her and the old fox’s partnership.

But, Elias still didn’t do it.

"Sorry, he doesn’t like others knowing." Summer directly refused.

"The person inside definitely isn’t ordinary..." Raymond became even more curious about who it was given her response, Elias Spencer?

But they’ve been rivals, openly and secretly battling for years, it’s not a new vendetta.

"Why is Director Dawson so interested in my personal relationships?" She said with an unhappy, cold smile and then walked off, immediately taking out her phone to message the man inside.

Asking his bodyguard to handle the surveillance.

Elias deliberately replied with two words: [Beg me.]

Summer gritted her teeth, this man always wanted to make her beg, as if wanting her to kneel and lick his boots. Fine, don’t let her catch any incriminating evidence on him!

When that happens, he’ll have to kneel and beg her instead.

[Please you!!!!] She replied on WeChat with two words, frustrated, adding several exclamation marks.

Elias was satisfied.

Raymond glanced at the firmly closed guest room door. Since the other person didn’t want to meet, there was nothing more he could do, but—

Finding out who that man was wouldn’t be hard, right?

Isn’t there a wealth of surveillance on this floor?!

He walked a few steps to catch up with Summer, pretending to explain, "Don’t misunderstand, Attorney Nolan, I have no intention of prying into your privacy, it was just a casual question."

Summer glanced at him, said nothing, and walked towards the elevator.

"By the way, Summit has a legal case, want to take it on with me? We can split the lawyer fee." Last time they lost the case, Summit compensated a lot of money.

That was the least of their worries, the key issue was Summit’s reputation suffered, leading to stock declines, and he got a scolding from Chairman Sterling.

This time, a competing group’s engineer joined Summit, and the ship design they completed won an award. Summit is a heavy industry shipbuilding group.

After winning, the competing group saw it and sued them immediately, claiming the designs were completed in their organization.

Now they demand Summit compensates and returns the award-winning designs.

They also demand a public apology from Summit.

This case is hard to win, Raymond was afraid of losing again, that’s why he wanted to bring her in.

"Sorry, Director Dawson, I have several cases on hand, a bit too busy for this one, you better find another lawyer." Summer declined.

What a joke, helping Summit?

And split the lawyer fee with this old fox? How much is that? Dream on!

"Isn’t your Mr. Vaughn’s case still far from trial? This case is fast with a five million agency fee, you could pocket two point five in a month, quite the deal."

You’re the one worth 250! Summer gave him a sideways glance, stopping in front of the elevator, deliberately holding up one finger,

"One billion, I’ll take the case, Director Dawson can ask Chairman Sterling’s opinion. Also, I don’t like co-managing a case."

Raymond was shocked by her requested lawyer fee, his expression somewhat ugly, his lawyer fee was five million, she wanted a billion?

Wasn’t this slapping him in the face?

"Attorney Nolan is being a bit exorbitant." He said in a deep voice.

"I’ve heard about Summit’s case, heard there’s evidence from the competing group proving those designs were completed in their organization; it’s said Summit’s chances of winning are extremely low.

If Summit loses two cases in a row, they can kiss their reputation goodbye.

And, Director Dawson, if you lose such a crucial case again, maybe Chairman Sterling won’t come to you again." She said with a smile, arms crossed.

Raymond’s expression turned uglier hearing her words, but what she said were facts.

"Attorney Nolan, go on ahead; Chairman Sterling is still at this hotel, I’ll go talk to him later." He said.

Summer glanced at him and entered the elevator, wondering if Elias had dealt with the surveillance? He better not come out now—

Raymond watched the elevator descend and went to squat in a corner, wanting to see if the man inside would come out?

But he waited for a long time with no door opening.

He then personally went to the security room—

Summer arrived at the underground parking lot, suddenly spotting Elias, surprised, she walked over and asked, "When did you come out?"
