Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!
Chapter 71: Is This Bastard Trying to Tie Her Up and Bully Her Too?
CHAPTER 71: CHAPTER 71: IS THIS BASTARD TRYING TO TIE HER UP AND BULLY HER TOO?
"Let’s go for hot pot. He doesn’t like hot pot; it’s unlikely we’ll run into him," Summer Nolan said, standing up.
She didn’t drive herself; she was in her male friend’s car, and shortly after they hit the street, while waiting at a red light, they had the bad luck of seeing Elias Spencer’s car!
They were parked side by side.
Summer Nolan was so frightened that she immediately ducked down onto her friend’s lap:
"Damn, how’d we run into him so quickly? Why isn’t he having lunch at home at noon, wandering around aimlessly?"
Miles Monroe glanced down at her, shaking his leg, "Don’t lie on my lap; it’s awkward."
"Come on... lying down for a bit won’t kill you, right? Sigh, let’s just go home, I think ordering takeout is pretty good too..." she said softly, patting his leg.
"Pfft... look at you being all scared, like a mouse seeing a cat. Weren’t you quite cocky when at home?" Miles couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Mind your own business," Summer Nolan hummed, pinching his leg.
Elias Spencer just wanted to go for a spin, to see if he could find that woman. Little did he know, she was right in the car next to him?
Come Monday.
Summer Nolan had no choice but to go to work. When she arrived at the Summit meeting room, she didn’t see that man.
"Stay calm, what’s there to be afraid of?"
"No, I need to find something to hold against him..." she was muttering to herself when suddenly the meeting room door was pushed open, and she turned to look—
Elias Spencer glanced at her, walked in without any expression.
Summer Nolan cautiously watched his every move, seeing him walk to the other side before quietly breathing a sigh of relief, thinking he wouldn’t dare do anything to her during work hours, right?
"Come over and help me change my bandage," Elias, masking his annoyance, called out to her in a seemingly friendly voice.
He had been looking for her for two days with no success.
Ha, finally showed up today?
The less he showed, the more Summer felt he was out to get her, giving her the jitters. She could only feign stern calmness, saying,
"What bandage to change during work hours, get on with your work now, don’t let it delay our job."
"Are you afraid to come over, scared?"
Elias sat down, drew a cigarette, lit it with a click of the lighter, took a deep drag, and exhaled a swirl of smoke, smiling lightly at her.
"What do I have to be scared of?" she said with a cold hum, crossing her arms.
"Then why are you still sitting there?" he raised an eyebrow, asking.
Summer slightly furrowed her eyebrows. If she didn’t go over, she’d seem timid—like that’s who she was?
She stood up and walked over, crossing her arms, standing tall by his side, looking down at him. Suddenly, he stood up!
He stepped closer, his eyes fierce like a leopard’s stare, his presence pressing down on her like a chilling peak—
Her heart involuntarily pounded, her body slightly leaning back—w-what was he planning?
Elias suddenly grabbed her wrist, his tone still gentle and calm, "Just remembered, my bandage is at home, let’s take a trip back."
Saying this, he grabbed her and was heading for the door. Summer was instantly terrified, quickly grabbing the edge of the table, thinking she’d rather die than go with him, saying,
"What are you doing going home during work hours? I still have to work, go back yourself if you want!"
"Don’t worry, I’ll do your work for you." Elias had it all thought out, he’d strip her, tie her up spread-eagled on the bed, see how she’d get away—
Summer furrowed her eyebrows, tightening her grip with her other hand. Was this bastard trying to take her home and tie her up too?
But she’s a woman, if she gets stripped and tied up, that would be... she’d rather die than think of it!
"Attorney Spencer, how about we call it even between us? We can get along well in the future, no more fuss, okay?"
She negotiated with him good-naturedly while gripping the table tightly.
"What do you think?" Elias asked in a cold voice.
"You often bully me, can’t I fight back a bit? Let go quickly, or I’ll call for help?" Why was he so impervious to reason?
Summer suddenly shouted, "Help, Elias—mmm..."
Before she finished, her mouth was covered by him. At that moment, the meeting room door handle moved, and Elias glanced at the door, forced to let her go immediately.
The door was pushed open.
It was Ian Sterling who walked in.
Summer looked at him, quietly calming her rapid breathing, feigning calm—
"Attorney Nolan, was that you just now? What happened?" Ian Sterling asked, perplexed, having heard her call as he just reached the door.
"Nothing, I was just calling someone to come in and move the processed documents out."
She smiled as she lied, knowing that if he discovered her little conflict with Elias, he surely wouldn’t have a good impression of her.
"I’ll have someone come in later. By the way, I made sandwiches this morning, do you want to try some?" he asked, handing over a blue-and-white lunch box.
Why did this scene feel familiar?
Summer remembered, it was when Iris Lynn made dumplings and gave them to Elias, and at the time, he’d even subtly bragged about it!
"Sure, I’ll try your cooking." She accepted the lunch box, opened it, took a bite, raised her eyebrow, purposefully complimenting,
"It’s delicious! Men who can cook are the most likable."
"If you like it, come to my house tonight, and try my western cuisine?"
You can bring Nico, he’s been wandering around the park these past few days looking for your dog," Ian suggested.
Summer gave a stiff smile, involuntarily glancing at the man beside her, seeing his expression dark as coal, his cold aura nearly freezing everyone!
No way she dared to agree?
"I have a dinner engagement tonight, I’ll call you when I’m free."
"Alright."
"Is your office spacious? Can I go there to work?" She dared not stay with Elias anymore.
Ian hearing this, felt as if fireworks were set off in his heart, did she also have feelings for him? Otherwise, why would she want to be alone with him in the same space?
"Of course, no problem, come with me then, I’ll have the secretary move the documents."
"Okay," Summer replied, took her personal items, glanced at the renowned attorney’s cold face—it wasn’t her fault.
Who told him to insist on retaliating against her?
Where else would she dare to stay with him?
"..." Elias watched her leave with that man, didn’t stop them, calmly took another drag from the cigarette between his fingers, smoke veiling his deep, cold eyes.
After a while, he took out his phone and sent a message to his bodyguard—
After a while, two secretaries came to move Summer’s documents, and as they left, they whispered to each other:
"Isn’t it obvious our Mr. Sterling likes Attorney Nolan?"
"Definitely, otherwise, why would he let her in his office?"
"Could Attorney Nolan end up as our boss’s wife?"
"It’s not easy marrying into a wealthy family, she’d still need to get past Chairman Sterling and his wife’s approval."
Summer was sitting on the sofa in Ian Sterling’s office when he walked over, saying:
"Sit at my desk, it’s not comfortable here."
