Chapter 81: Can You Tell Me Who Your Ex-Boyfriend Is?
CHAPTER 81: CHAPTER 81: CAN YOU TELL ME WHO YOUR EX-BOYFRIEND IS?
Elias Spencer suddenly bit her red lips while holding the back of her neck, speaking in a domineering tone, "You must take responsibility for me..."
Suddenly bitten by him, Summer Nolan was annoyed and hit his shoulder, "You’re overthinking this."
Not only did he not step away, but he also leaned in to kiss her again—
"Mmm... Elias Spencer..." Summer pushed him away, raising her hand to hit him a few more times. Being taken advantage of last night, and today again?
Does he think she’s easy to bully?
She suddenly pinched his soft spot, causing the man on top of her to grunt and move away from her lips, looking down as he asked her,
"Do you want to be a widow?"
"I never planned on spending my life with you, why would I be a widow? If you have the guts to bully me again, do you think I’m just going to let you?"
With a mischievous smile, Summer said and suddenly increased the pressure, causing Elias Spencer to frown and groan again, "You, as a young lady, have no shame pinching me there?"
"Of course, I dare." Seeing his embarrassed expression, she instantly felt delighted.
Elias Spencer leaned close to her ear, warning in a husky voice, "I’ll give you one chance, let go now—"
"Swear that you’ll stay away from me in the future." Summer didn’t care about his words, taking the opportunity to threaten him.
Elias Spencer looked at her, quickly pulled her up from the chair with fluid movements, embraced her, turned around, and pressed her onto the desk!
Summer hadn’t reacted yet; in an instant, she was pinned down by him, and her hand that had been grasping his weak spot had somehow let go.
Elias Spencer’s hand landed on her leg, raising an eyebrow, "Still acting tough?"
"Don’t mess around, this is a law firm!" she warned with a frown.
"Didn’t get enough last night, want to go again?" he asked, looking at her.
"Who wants to go again with you? Elias Spencer if you dare... see how I deal with you... mm..." Summer’s words were cut off as he suddenly blocked her lips.
Knock, knock—
The office door suddenly knocked.
Elias Spencer immediately stood up, pulling her up as well; this was a law firm, not Summit, and the rules were clear.
Angry, Summer raised her hand to hit him; he did not stop her but instead raised his hand to wipe the lipstick smudged on her lips:
"Don’t move..."
"Hmph." She glared at him, and the office door was abruptly pushed open by someone outside.
Raymond Dawson, seeing Elias Spencer come in, knocked on the door once but got no response.
He was curious about what the two were doing in the office and suddenly pushed the door open to find out.
Seeing the two standing so close with a somewhat strange atmosphere, he suspiciously walked over and jokingly asked with a smile,
"Attorney Nolan and Attorney Spencer discussing something?"
"Work matters, Director Dawson, is there something you need?" Summer crossed her arms, asking impatiently.
Raymond Dawson felt displeased with her attitude towards him, humph, if it weren’t for recruiting her over and giving her shares, wouldn’t she just be a worker?
If it weren’t for seeing her current value, he would have kicked her out long ago.
"Oh, I’ve booked a luxury private room at the White Horse Clubhouse tonight, it’s been a while since we’ve all gathered, and it’s also to celebrate your win in another case." He said with a full smile.
"Hmm." She responded, knowing it was a team gathering she couldn’t refuse.
"Well, you both carry on." Raymond Dawson gave them a deep look and walked out, standing at the door for a while after closing it.
Trying to hear what they were saying inside?
Inside the office, just as Summer was about to teach him a lesson for bullying her earlier, Elias Spencer covered her mouth with his hand and deliberately spoke loudly:
"Attorney Nolan, have you been slacking off on purpose these days? Humph, leaving work early every day, when will Summit’s case be resolved?"
Summer followed his gaze to the crack in the door, pulling away his hand, and responded cooperatively in a cold voice, "If you like overtime, go yourself, what does it have to do with me?"
Outside the door, Raymond Dawson heard them arguing and laughed, no wonder the atmosphere between the two was a bit strange, leaving the doorway.
"Elias Spencer, I’m warning you, stop taking advantage of me!" Summer grabbed his tie abruptly, pulling it down so that his head lowered unwittingly.
"Depends on your performance, remember the oath you made." Elias Spencer glanced at her, calmly pulling out his tie, raised his hand and pinched her cheek:
"Remember to drink the coffee, let’s have lunch together, I’ll wait for you downstairs."
"Who’s going to have lunch with you?" she pouted.
Elias Spencer heard her words but didn’t look back.
As soon as he left, Summer received a WeChat message from Ian Sterling, coincidentally also inviting her to lunch—
-
At a specialty ramen shop near the outskirts.
The store wasn’t very large, with just over a dozen tables, filled with regular office workers and local people.
Ian Sterling, in a high-end black suit, with an elegant and noble demeanor, looked around at the people here, looking somewhat out of place.
"Do you like the noodles at this place? Is there something special about them?" he asked the woman opposite him.
"I’ve been here before, the taste is quite good, you’re probably not used to such small places, right?"
When she and her mother and sister were roaming the streets, they rented a place nearby and often came here because it was cheap, and the taste was genuinely good.
Such a remote spot, surely Elias Spencer wouldn’t be here.
"Indeed, I’ve never been here before."
Growing up, Ian Sterling never liked eating noodles, and the staff at home never made such cheap stuff, but he didn’t tell her that.
"Are you comfortable with it? Should we go somewhere else?" Summer asked.
"No need, I... haven’t had noodles in a long time, I kind of want to try them." As he spoke, the lady boss brought out two bowls of handmade ramen with enthusiasm, inviting them to enjoy.
Seeing her take a pair of chopsticks from the bamboo tube, Ian Sterling also took a pair.
Seeing her wipe them with a napkin, he also pulled out a napkin to wipe them—
But, wasn’t this still unhygienic?
He silently psyched himself up, then picked up a simple, rustic noodle with the chopsticks and brought it to his mouth, slightly raising an eyebrow—
"How about it, do you like it?" Summer asked.
"Not bad, the flavor is quite fresh and savory, and the noodles are really chewy." He said.
"If you like it, have more."
"Do you have any engagements tonight? Come to my place, try my cooking?" Ian Sterling wanted to quickly get closer to her.
"We have a firm gathering tonight, maybe next time."
He nodded helplessly, suddenly remembering something and asking in confusion, "Last night, when I went to your place, your mother said you’ve never had a dog... Is Elias your dog?"
Summer paused and told him the truth,
"Elias stays at my ex-boyfriend’s place; we raised him together when we were dating, but my mom is allergic to dog hair, so I couldn’t bring him over."
Upon hearing her words, Ian Sterling couldn’t help but furrow his brows tightly, feeling a pang of jealousy—
Doesn’t that mean she has to meet with her ex-boyfriend often?
Having Elias Spencer as a formidable rival was bad enough, and now there’s an ex-boyfriend too...
"Can you tell me who your ex-boyfriend is?" He really wanted to know.
