CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: PIGGY, SLEEP A LITTLE LONGER—I’LL MAKE YOU SOME PORRIDGE
Elias Spencer pressed the doorbell, and Mrs. Nolan thought it was Ian Sterling returning. But when she opened the door, it turned out to be Attorney Spencer!
"Do you need something, Attorney Spencer?"
"Good morning, Mrs. Nolan. I’m here to check on Summer. Is she awake?" Elias Spencer had one hand in his pocket, his tone cool and detached, yet with a hint of concern.
Feeling a bit guilty, he shouldn’t have been so competitive with her last night.
"Not yet. Come on in." Mrs. Nolan welcomed him inside; Ian Sterling hadn’t said anything about coming in earlier.
Luckily, he didn’t come in, otherwise it would be so awkward.
Elias Spencer was led to her bedroom door, opening it directly without any hesitation.
He saw her hugging the blanket, her long legs exposed, sleeping in a very ungraceful manner.
He smacked her backside, only covered by a pair of black lace panties, "Smack... Still not awake?"
Summer Nolan twisted slightly on the bed, mumbling indistinctly, "Elias Spencer...jerk...never want to talk to you again..."
Hearing her words, Elias Spencer smacked her bottom again. Just because he beat her in three rounds of dice, she was holding such a grudge—
"Talking to you makes me a fool..." Summer murmured again, sleepy and gritting her teeth.
"Do you really want to be a fool?" He pinched her cheek and asked.
Her face felt itchy, she grabbed his hand, suddenly pulled him down, Elias Spencer ended up sprawled on top of her, and she hugged him and started kissing him,
"Handsome... kiss... I’m just going to sleep with another man, I want to piss him off..."
Elias Spencer’s face darkened upon hearing her words, he punished her by biting her lip and squeezed her chest a bit roughly.
"Uh..." Summer furrowed her brows and groaned, instinctively tightening her grip on his arm.
Looking at her alluring expression, Elias Spencer’s adam’s apple involuntarily rolled, and he swiftly removed her hand, standing up, his cool voice slightly hoarse:
"Pig, sleep a bit more. I’ll go make some porridge for you."
He walked out and saw Mrs. Nolan sitting on the sofa, watching TV and drinking coffee. After greeting her, he headed to the open kitchen.
The fridge was well-stocked.
Mrs. Nolan looked at the handsome man in formal attire busy in the open kitchen, and couldn’t help muttering—
Quite a sight.
He was making porridge, and she didn’t stop him, more as it’s always better to have more, and see who cooks better—him or Ian Sterling!
An hour later.
Summer finally woke up, her head a bit dizzy and aching, she groggily headed to the bathroom.
When she came out, she was surprised to see Elias Spencer sitting in the dining room, eating breakfast with her mom!
Was she seeing things?
She rubbed her eyes and looked again, it was indeed him!
Surprised... When did he get here?
"What are you doing in my house?" She walked over and asked angrily.
"Just checking how you are. Come and have some porridge." Elias Spencer invited her.
"I don’t need you to check."
Wasn’t he quite tough last night? Now acting all tender and affectionate? As Summer spoke coldly, Mrs. Nolan didn’t get why the girl said that,
"Attorney Spencer came over this morning and personally cooked you porridge. What’s with you? He even helped us move yesterday, just come and enjoy the porridge."
Summer indeed felt a bit hungry now but had no desire to eat his porridge, suddenly noticing the insulated container on the island, she asked her mom:
"Is that porridge you bought this morning?"
"Ahem... yes..." Mrs. Nolan coughed softly, not telling the truth to avoid Elias Spencer overthinking.
Summer poured herself a bowl, sat right across the man, scooping a bite with a spoon, raising her eyebrows, it tasted good!
"Mom, which store did you get this from? It’s very fragrant, with yams, red dates, and goji berries mixed in, slightly sweet, really tasty, thoughtfully made."
"...You wouldn’t know even if I told you." Mrs. Nolan replied vaguely.
Seeing her praising the takeout porridge so much, Elias Spencer subtly furrowed his brows.
Suddenly Summer’s phone started ringing from the bedroom, picking it up she saw it was Ian Sterling, raising an eyebrow—
Did the explanation from last night ease things?
She answered, "Hey, Mr. Sterling..."
"You awake? I was worried you weren’t, sorry if I’m disturbing you. By the way, did you drink the porridge I made for you?" Ian Sterling asked.
Summer blinked, "...The yam porridge?"
Mom actually lied to her.
"Yeah."
"Just had some, it tastes nice, thanks." Seems the misunderstanding was resolved, the plan could continue, Summer silently breathed a sigh of relief.
This time she must be cautious, couldn’t let Elias Spencer ruin it again.
"It’s fine, we’re friends, aren’t we? By the way, do you want to take a stroll at the park like last time?" he asked.
"Sure, I just need some fresh air, see you then."
She hung up the phone, grabbed a pair of short denim shorts and a loose Korean-style white T-shirt from the wardrobe, the wide neckline perfectly showing off her sexy collarbone.
Her long black hair hung loosely down her back, vibrant and youthful.
Heading out, she picked up the bowl, swiftly finished off the porridge, Elias Spencer glanced at her attire and asked, "Where are you headed?"
Summer gave him a look, puffing her cheeks, really wanting to ask, what’s it to you? I’m not your girlfriend!
But she held it in, snorted coldly, "...Shopping with a friend, eat your food."
With that she quickly slipped out.
Elias Spencer saw her sneaky demeanor, filled with guilt, definitely off—going to go secretly meet Ian Sterling again?
Weren’t they not reconciled?
"Mrs. Nolan, I have something to attend to, I’ll be leaving now." He stood and politely bid farewell.
"...Alright, go on."
Mrs. Nolan felt no matter what, Elias Spencer resembled her daughter’s boyfriend more, what ordinary friend would come make breakfast at their home?
Even Ian Sterling kept his distance by making it at his own place and bringing it over.
Plus, Attorney Spencer seemed quite controlling of her daughter, naturally so, her overly confident daughter, surprisingly feared him!
Summer had barely driven out of the neighborhood when she spotted Elias Spencer’s car following. Was he planning to tail her?
Annoyed—
She drove to the bustling streets, got out, pretending to shop, he might just leave soon.
Suddenly, a familiar cool voice filled with slight surprise called from behind, "Attorney Nolan, what a coincidence, seeing you here again."
