Running A Cemetery in North America
Chapter 258 - 174: Pen Immortal Game
CHAPTER 258: CHAPTER 174: PEN IMMORTAL GAME
Belun hurried into the auditorium and felt relieved to see that every child was safe and sound.
Tonight, Sun Yan asked everyone to leave and took the responsibility to protect the sixteen children himself. To be honest, Belun felt a bit uncertain.
He knew that Sun Yan was an Exorcist but didn’t know Sun Yan’s true strength. After two children had consecutively died, Belun could only fully trust Sun Yan in dealing with Franklin’s Evil Spirit.
Just moments ago, he received a message from Sun Yan asking him to bring some paper and pens to the auditorium.
It was quite evident that something important had happened.
"Mr. Jackson, I’ve brought what you asked for. Are the children alright?"
Belun, dressed in his pajamas, handed over the items in his hands and asked with concern.
"As long as I’m here, unless I die first, these kids will definitely be safe. You can rest assured."
Sun Yan took the paper and pen, immediately sat on the ground, and prepared for the Pen Immortal ritual, as the situation was urgent.
No one can guarantee they won’t suddenly fall asleep when drowsy, not even Sun Yan himself.
And once he dreams, it becomes Franklin’s territory. Sun Yan may be able to safeguard himself from Franklin’s influence, but he can’t ensure all the children will escape harm.
Finding Franklin’s disembodied remains and purifying them to prevent further harm was now Sun Yan’s most pressing matter.
"Mr. Belun, keep an eye on the kids. Don’t let them fall asleep. Tonight, I will do my utmost to eliminate Franklin."
Sun Yan gripped a pen and began the Pen Immortal ritual according to the method taught by Old Joe.
"Pen Immortal, Pen Immortal, you are my past life, and I am your present life. If you wish to reconnect with me, please draw a circle on the paper."
As Sun Yan recited the Spell, the pen began to buzz and shake in his hand.
Sun Yan quietly opened his Celestial Eye and saw a woman with disheveled hair and a white dress appear beside him.
She reached out, grabbed Sun Yan’s hand, and pushed it to draw a twisted circle on the white paper.
Sun Yan remained remarkably calm in this situation.
The so-called Pen Immortal is essentially a ghost.
But in this world, there aren’t any omniscient ghosts. Achieving such feats would be akin to being an Immortal.
The Pen Immortal game merely attracts a wandering ghost from nearby, who naturally knows local matters.
By asking about local issues, you can get precise answers.
However, asking random questions related to emotions or parent information only yields false answers or makes the Pen Immortal choose not to respond.
For people with Celestial Eyes or Yin-Yang Eyes, the Pen Immortal game holds no mystery at all.
"Pen Immortal, Pen Immortal, please tell me where Franklin’s remains are." Sun Yan asked the long-haired ghost next to him.
The ghost took hold of Sun Yan’s hand and slowly wrote a jumbled English sentence on the white paper.
Sun Yan widened his eyes in disbelief at what he saw.
’Under Lauren’s Family, under the Crowne Family, under the Akusu Family...’
The names were long and numerous, clearly indicating that Franklin’s remains were dismembered, or they wouldn’t be buried all over.
A chill ran through Sun Yan’s heart; the situation was far worse than he imagined.
Why Franklin’s remains were disassembled or why they were buried under so many homes were highly suspicious.
"Pen Immortal, Pen Immortal, I have no more questions, you may leave."
Upon getting the answer, Sun Yan initiated the ritual to dismiss the Pen Immortal.
When the pen stopped in his hand, it signified the Pen Immortal had successfully departed.
Yet, Sun Yan looked to his left, where the woman in a white dress still stood motionless, showing no intent to leave.
Sun Yan furrowed his eyes; the Pen Immortal was refusing to leave.
He had already recited the dismissal Spell, yet she remained!
Anger surged in Sun Yan’s heart, daring to pretend to be a mystical entity in front of him.
Sun Yan immediately took the Nine Dragon Five Thunder Seal and stamped it on the pretending Ah Piao’s face.
Lightning erupted at once, striking the Ah Piao, who screamed and dissipated instantly.
In the face of the Nine Dragon Five Thunder Seal, how could a mere ghost withstand it?
"Mr. Belun, watch over these children here. I’m going out for a bit."
Sun Yan took up the Golden Halberd and Nine Dragon Five Thunder Seal, quickly exiting the auditorium and heading towards Lauren’s house.
Given that Franklin’s remains were buried under Lauren’s house, Lauren must have been aware of it; Lauren must have concealed something from him this morning.
Now, Sun Yan urgently needed to uncover the truth. If he could figure out what Lauren had concealed and why he hid Franklin’s whereabouts, he might fully understand why Franklin became such a malevolent spirit.
...
At Lauren’s house door, upon Sun Yan’s arrival, the house exuded an unusually bleak aura with white mist around, leaving Sun Yan feeling dreadfully uneasy.
"Mr. Laurence?"
Sun Yan went to the door, pushed it open, and walked in, finding the house incredibly dark with water stains remaining on the floor.
He then saw a man sitting motionless on the sofa. Sun Yan approached him and pushed gently.
Laurence’s body collapsed sideways, his face showing extreme fear, his skin scorched, and both eyes gouged out with blood streaming out.
"Hiss!"
Sun Yan gasped; Laurence was dead.
After a moment of hesitation, Sun Yan slapped his own face.
It hurt! He wasn’t dreaming.
Sun Yan immediately realized a horrifying fact; in Nightingale Town, besides Franklin, there could be other Evil Spirits.
Creek!
Suddenly, a sound came from upstairs. Sun Yan didn’t hesitate and rushed upstairs, seeing a figure flash by Laurence’s son’s room door.
Sun Yan pursued, finding the room empty, except for an open window with fluttering white curtains.
"I know you’re here, come out." Sun Yan said.
After a short while, a slender figure slowly crawled out from under the bed, emitting a strong scent of blood.
