CHAPTER 364: CHAPTER 364: SO NERVOUS I FORGOT TO BREATHE

After taking a shower, Shen Weiyi lay in bed, and having walked all day, she should have been exhausted, yet she kept staring at the door, restless and unable to sleep. Eventually, she sprang up from the bed.

She opened the door and saw that the lights were still on in the living room.

Sheng Ting hadn’t gone to sleep, and he was sitting on the sofa with a laptop resting on his lap.

This man didn’t even forget about work when going out to play.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, he looked up toward her and asked, "What’s wrong?"

"I, I’m thirsty, wanted to drink some water." Shen Weiyi avoided his gaze and walked quickly to the table where the water was, pretending to grab a drink.

Only after downing half the bottle did she feel her heartbeat settle a bit. Her grip on the bottle tightened, and then she raised her head, trying to sound casual, "Why don’t you come and sleep too? The bed is big, it should be fine for two people."

In fact, their relationship had reached a point where it was just one step away from something more.

But Sheng Ting was a particularly self-disciplined person, always feeling that there were certain things that should wait until after marriage.

Having lived together for over a year, they had always kept to their own rooms, decorous and proper, never crossing the line.

After Shen Weiyi finished speaking, seeing that Sheng Ting did not respond for a long while, she wondered if she had been too forward. Would he think she was being unseemly?

"If you don’t want to, forget it!" She said and, putting down the water, hurried back to her room, about to close the door when a hand stopped it.

"I do," Sheng Ting’s voice sounded.

"Cough!" Shen Weiyi’s hand retracted as if electrocuted, and turning around while feigning calm, she said, "Then I’ll go to sleep first, you should rest early too."

"Okay!"

Shen Weiyi lay in bed, and soon heard footsteps.

She saw Sheng Ting push the door open and walk in.

Feeling the bed dip beside her, Shen Weiyi’s grip on the blanket unconsciously tightened, her heartbeat accelerating uncontrollably.

"Are you trying to suffocate yourself?" Sheng Ting’s voice came.

Only then did Shen Weiyi realize she had been so nervous that she forgot to breathe.

"Not at all!" Embarrassed, she hastily let go of the blanket she had been covering her face with.

A soft chuckle echoed in her ear.

Shen Weiyi was extremely mortified.

Whose fault was it that she was feeling this way?

The more Shen Weiyi thought about it, the more irritated she became, turning around and glaring at him saying, "Stop laughing."

Instead, she found herself looking directly into his handsome face, feeling his breath at an uncomfortably close distance.

Shen Weiyi’s breath caught, and before she could turn her face away, it was too late; she could only quietly move backward.

The next second, a pair of large hands landed on her waist, forcing her entire body to press against him.

The thin layer of their nightclothes did almost nothing to block the warmth transferring between them, gentle breaths tickling her ear, electrifying like a soft current.

Shen Weiyi’s mind went blank for a moment, her blood rushing from her neck to the roots of her ears.

The feeling was both familiar and strange.

Her heart pounded even more fiercely.

"Can you let me go first?" Shen Weiyi unconsciously swallowed, trying to step back from his embrace.

But his hands gripped her waist tightly.

His restrained voice, low and hoarse, reached her ears, "Don’t move!"

Shen Weiyi’s body stiffened instantly.

As an adult, she very clearly knew what all this implied. Especially feeling the anomaly beneath her, her face felt so hot it seemed about to burst into flames, daring not to move anymore, stiffly allowing him to hold her.
