CHAPTER 64: CHAPTER64-A PAIR OF GIGANTIC EYES

With the activation of the Anti-Magic Battlefield, the entire space transformed.

Owen felt the arcanergy within him, which usually moved at his will, vanish as if it had never existed.

A slight panic crept into his heart, but his combat techniques remained orderly and precise.

"Yo, not bad under pressure, huh?" Aegis remarked with a hint of surprise.

"Your arcanergy is disabled, and you don’t panic? Most of my opponents become utterly disoriented, like tigers without teeth. Hilarious."

Owen offered no response, fully engrossed in the fierce battle.

He still held his final trump card, the [Prophecy].

With it, he had a chance for a decisive turnaround.

The situation on Finn’s side was less favorable.

He, too, felt the unsettling void of disabled arcanergy, akin to being deprived of breath – an intensely uncomfortable, suffocating sensation.

Oliver, observing their troubled expressions, sneered,

"My dear brothers, never thought you’d see this day, did you?"

Chrisman, his face contorted in rage, roared,

"Finn, don’t panic. We can’t use arcanergy, and neither can Oliver. Just with combat techniques, it’s two against one. Stay calm."

Their battle continued, a test of raw skill and physical prowess in the absence of magical aids.

The brothers clashed, each strike and parry a reflection of their inner turmoil and resilience.

Finn’s face regained some composure: "Right, you make a good point."

"Is that really the case?" Oliver’s smile widened, revealing his ghastly white teeth.

He swung his sword upwards; Finn attempted to block it with his own, but a tremendous force from the blade shook him.

Finn’s sword trembled violently in his hand and then flew out of his grip.

"Why can you use arcanergy?" Finn, stunned and immobile, exclaimed.

Without pausing, Oliver, wielding his long sword, continued his assault.

The blade sliced towards Finn’s chest.

Chrisman, knowing Finn couldn’t afford to be injured, quickly kicked him to the side.

Finn toppled over, narrowly escaping a deep cut; the sword grazed his chest, leaving a shallow, bleeding wound.

The sharp pain turned Finn’s face pale, and he shouted in shock, "Are you really going to kill us?"

Oliver’s face darkened, his shoulders shaking with laughter: "My dear brother, do you still harbor any hope that I’ll spare you?"

He kept hacking at Finn relentlessly.

Chrisman, gritting his teeth, stepped forward to fend off the attacks:

"Oliver, it’s not too late to turn back. If you kill us, how will the people of Laine Kingdom see us? Won’t it be a huge scandal? Our kingdom has never seen such disgrace."

"Ha ha ha, you’re dying at the hands of spellbeasts in the secret realm, what does that have to do with me?" Oliver laughed arrogantly, clearly in high spirits.

"These things can’t be hidden," Chrisman said grimly, "If we die in the secret realm, father will surely send people to investigate thoroughly."

"So what? I’ll be the only one left to inherit the throne. Do you think he would dare to kill me?" Oliver retorted.

Chrisman was speechless, shaking his head as he looked deeply at Oliver:

"You will face the condemnation of the kingdom’s people. Your ascension to the throne will be seen as illegitimate, and people will say..."

"Once I become king, anyone who dares to speak ill of me will be executed!"

Oliver interjected darkly, unable to contain his impatience.

"History is but a tale written by the victors."

As he spoke, his Sonic Dart once again emitted intense demonic sounds.

Without the resistance of arcanergy, Chrisman and Finn’s heads throbbed painfully, rendering them incapable of even wielding their weapons.

Catching a glimpse of Finn’s plight, Owen pursed his lips and moved swiftly to his aid.

"Ha ha ha," Aegis chuckled sinisterly, grabbing Owen’s hand, "Your opponent is me!"

Owen, having no choice, exchanged dozens of blows with Aegis in an instant.

Oliver had already knocked Chrisman down, lying on top of Finn, their faces filled with despair.

They had never imagined Oliver’s ambition would swell to such an extent, daring to kill them in the secret realm.

Owen, frowning, whispered to himself, "[Prophecy] activate."

Owen hovered in mid-air as a "phantom Owen" emerged from his body, the entire scene turning monochrome.

Owen lunged to grasp Aegis’s hand.

However, Aegis reacted even faster, counter-grabbing Owen’s claws, then forcefully twisted them, and with snake-like hands, he wrapped around Owen’s arms, locking him in place.

The "phantom Owen" analyzed Aegis’s move for weaknesses.

Owen struggled fiercely, trying to break free from Aegis’s hold.

Aegis, reaching the peak of his frenzy, laughed like a madman.

"Owen" glanced towards the other side, where Oliver, dragging the Sonic Dart, was slowly approaching Chrisman and Finn.

Finn’s face was etched with despair, constantly looking in Owen’s direction and shouting something.

Chrisman, displaying the demeanor of a great general, had a face smeared with blood but eyes still resolute.

Men who have seen blood on the battlefield are entirely different.

"Owen" shifted his focus back, noticing Aegis tightening his grip on his arm, seemingly intent on strangling him.

Owen, deprived of the right to use arcanergy, couldn’t transform into the Gold Divine Dragon.

The transformation between dragon and human form, though a bloodline talent, required arcanergy as the key.

Owen’s struggles grew weaker, while Aegis’s smile became more and more twisted.

The vision began to crumble; time was running out.

Owen pondered deeply, considering his strategy.

He needed to deliver a fatal blow to Aegis.

Owen returned from the [Prophecy] world.

Everything around him sprang back to life.

Following the method shown in [Prophecy], he first clawed at Aegis’s hand, trying to grab it.

As foretold in [Prophecy], Aegis attempted to seize Owen’s claws.

Owen’s eyes flashed fiercely, and his claws suddenly transformed, thrusting straight into Aegis’s heart.

Aegis’s pupils constricted sharply, his body curling like a shrimp.

Unfortunately for Owen, this swift and fierce attack, unexpected as it was, couldn’t proceed further.

The moment his hand pierced Aegis’s chest, it couldn’t move an inch more, as if clamped by a hydraulic vise.

Blood trickled from Aegis’s mouth as he revealed a cruel smile:

"Your combat techniques are indeed impressive, even showing me a vulnerability. However, you can’t surpass me in combat, nor is your physical condition better than mine."

"I can control every muscle in my body. My muscles can clamp down on your hand, making the damage you’ve done to me minimal."

Owen almost jumped in shock. Such a monstrous ability?

Aegis could manipulate every muscle in his body.

No wonder his punches could shatter stones; he was utilizing every muscle to its fullest.

Owen desperately tried to withdraw his hand, but Aegis gave him no chance, continuously pounding Owen’s chest.

Had it not been for Owen’s sturdy physique, he would have been crushed to dust by now.

Owen forced himself to remain calm, pondering over a strategy.

Chrisman and Finn lay together, utterly drained.

Deprived of arcanergy, they were no match for Oliver.

"If you’re going to kill us, just do it quickly. Stop dawdling," Chrisman said with a resigned calmness, his face showing traces of fear but mostly acceptance.

Finn looked at Chrisman in disbelief, "Brother, are you just giving up? You’ve lost your mind."

Chrisman managed a bitter smile, "Don’t you get it? This beast wants to torture us. I can’t fathom what we did to deserve such grudge from this kid."

Finn, enduring his wounds, turned to Owen, his heart sinking to the depths of despair.

Owen, too, was in a dire situation, looking as pitiful as a battered training dummy.

He was no match for Aegis.

"What do we do now?"

Finn thought, looking at the approaching Oliver in utter hopelessness.

Suddenly, a rugged voice echoed,

"Sorry to intrude, I’m looking for someone."

Just the sound of this voice made the entire temple tremble.

Everyone, including the guards, Oliver, Owen, and Aegis, turned towards the temple entrance.

There, they saw a pair of colossal eyes, shimmering like stars, as if two giant lanterns were placed at the temple’s door.

Everyone was stunned, unsure of what this creature could be, but a sense of fear enveloped their hearts.

If just the eyes were this big, how massive must the entire body be?

Owen sensed a familiar presence. Diana stepped forward, exclaiming in astonishment, "A dreamscape... dragon?"

Owen’s pupils contracted sharply, followed by a burst of laughter, "Heaven favors me, heaven favors me..."

Aegis, frowning and flashing a fierce look, retorted, "Heaven might not doom you, but I will end you today!"
