CHAPTER 298: CHAPTER 298: HAVING A CHILD WOULDN’T BE BAD

When River City arrived, Adrian was in a meeting.

As Summer Sutton passed by outside the conference room, his gaze happened to sweep in her direction.

He stared at her outside, paying no mind to the many executives in the room, and playfully curled his lips.

Summer Sutton felt his smile was inexplicably flirtatious.

Feeling a bit awkward, she pretended not to notice and, with her head down, was quickly led by his assistant into his office.

Adrian turned his head back to continue the meeting.

In the office, with nothing to do, Summer Sutton grabbed a thick book, intending to pass the time.

But after flipping through only a few pages, Adrian pushed open the door and walked in.

"Finished so quickly?" Putting down the book in her hand, Summer Sutton stood up.

Adrian swung the office door shut and strode towards her, placing his arms on either side of her body, and leaned down to kiss her passionately on the lips, "I sped up the meeting for you."

Summer Sutton froze for a moment and leaned back slightly, "Why?"

"When my wife comes to see me, how can I not wrap up early?" Adrian pulled her closer and pressed her beneath him, his lips covering hers again.

Kissing her here and there made Summer Sutton go weak all over, while Adrian himself caught fire, finally releasing her.

"Why didn’t you give me a heads up before coming?"

"To surprise you!" Summer Sutton responded, going along with his words.

She was purely making things up — she was simply being lazy.

He would know once she got here, wouldn’t he?

There really was no need to call.

"Really?" Adrian curled his lips, seemingly quite pleased with her answer.

"Wait for me a minute, it’ll be quick." Letting go of her, Adrian turned around and went back to work at his desk.

Sitting quietly to the side, Summer Sutton watched as he buried himself in signing documents, unexpectedly noticing that the watch he wore today was the one she gifted him.

Since that night in River City when she put that watch on his wrist, Adrian hadn’t worn any other.

Originally, he had a collection of expensive, million-dollar watches at home, which he had even put aside.

This side of him made Summer Sutton feel a bit lost.

Adrian’s work efficiency was high, finishing up his tasks in no time, and he stood up.

"Let’s go home!" Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, he walked her out of the office.

Unity was still at the Walyon Family estate; Summer Sutton had been too busy to attend to it yesterday, leaving it at home for the servants to care for.

Just getting into the car, thinking of Unity, Summer Sutton requested Adrian, "Let’s go home first; Unity’s been at home all day, we should pick her up."

Her tone was like she was worried about leaving a child with the Walyon Family.

Adrian drove towards the Walyon Family estate, feeling particularly uneasy.

Making a special trip to fetch what — a son?

A little critter, why should it deserve such honors?

The more Adrian thought about it, the less he understood, until, while driving, he suddenly blurted out, "Summer, if you find yourself really bored, why not have a child?"

Raising a child will be more intimate than a pet, although there will be more frustrating times, how can it not be cherished when it’s your own, soft and gentle, with a sweet voice — how adorable!

Adrian had actually never considered having a child before, and was even quite resistant.

But after marriage, unconsciously, he suddenly found children becoming cuter.

Especially when imagining a miniature version of him and her.

How would Summer Sutton know about his mental shift?

Turning her head to look at him, she reminded, "Once we have a kid, doing anything in the villa will become difficult — you don’t mind?"
