Chapter 215 Discard it
Chapter 215 bDiscard /bit
Previously known just as Miss Hudson, Renee’s status was simple. But now, her associations recast her
in a different light.
No longer just Miss Hudson, she became Mrs. King, a friend of the young master of the Moore family, an inspiration to Freddy, well–known to the RICH bar owner, and a close friend of the Lambert family’s third heir’s fiancée… How many titles did that make?
It was astonishing!
Suddenly, Susanna was the center of attention for everyone.
“Renee, don’t get toofortable. Our group is hardly short on women who’ve been divorced or left behind,” Alyssa said, her voice low and threatening, close to Renee’s ear.
“Just look at those guys hanging out with Mr. King. There’s Wyatt, who easily ignores his crowd of fans, and Levy, dressed in his light cream suit, who tends to change girlfriends every month. How long do byou /bthink you’ll manage to stay as Mrs. King?”
Renee gave her a quick look. “No matter how long I stay, it’s longer than you could ever imagine of getting for yourself.”
Alyssa, ready to snap back, stopped and gave her a smile when she noticed Marcelo standing not ifar /i
away.
“See, Mr. King is off to meet Vivian!”
On the second floor’s far end, separated by soundproof ss, was a calm retreat.
“Marcelo, about that day in the hospital…I’m sorry. I let my emotions get the best of me. I’ve realized that
it was indeed my fault,” Vivian said, her head bowed in guilt and regret.
Marcelo just hummed, showing hardly any reaction.
He had actually forgotten all about their hospital incident.
His thoughts had never really lingered on Vivian.
“Later on, Paul and Jessica suggested I should join King’s jewelrypany as the head designer…” Vivian gave Marcelo a cautious look.
This idea came from Paul, but Vivian made sure to include Jessica, aware of her significance to Marcelo.
b“/bIf that’s what you want.” Marcelo remained unbothered.
Firstly, the Kingpany had nothing to do with him.

Moreover, Vivian wasn’t his woman.
He simply didn’t care.
Vivian let out a sigh of relief.
When Marcelo didn’t catch her intention, he inquired, “Did youe to join in some fun?”
It was doubtful Wyatt had asked Vivian over at this time.
“I…did hear Daniel was here, so I thought I’d drop by, but…” Vivian paused. “I’m worried your wife might not be keen on seeing me, considering our past. She might have gotten the wrong idea about me.”
Vivian deliberately said so to pretend to be pitiful, hoping Marcelo would say that Renee didn’t get the wrong idea and invite her to join this party.
Today’s event was essentially to celebrate Marcelo and Renee’s wedding. If she showed up, it could spark wild guesses about their old “love triangle” among their peers, who were more cunning than a swarm of
hos!
To her surprise, Marcelo’s response was straightforward.
“You’re right. It wouldn’t be right for you toe in.”
Vivian, taken aback, stared at Marcelo with a mix of surprise and confusion.
Marcelo, however, had no desire to borate.
His statement was as clear as it was literal.
Regret washed over Vivian. Had she known earlier, she wouldn’t have resorted to such tactics, effectively setting a trap for herself.
“Marcelo, this is my wedding gift to you. It’s a bitte…but I hope you’ll appreciate it. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you and your wife,” Vivian said, skillfully changing the subject. She produced a neatly wrapped gift box from her bag.
The box was small, fittingfortably in the palm of a hand, adorned with tiny blue and red gems.
“Thank you.” Marcelo epted the gift.
The mention of it being a wedding gift made it difficult to decline.
“There seems to be something in your hair…b” /b
Vivian suddenly reached out towards his hair, as if to remove something.
To an onlooker, their interaction might have appeared intimate.

Renee, standing about ten meters behind Marcelo, observed the scene with an unreadable expression. The air around her seemed to chill instantly.
As Vivian extended her hand, she inadvertently caught Renee’s cold gaze over Marcelo’s shoulder. Her eyes briefly sparkled with a smile, but it quickly vanished.
b“/bNo, thank you,” Marcelo stepped back, avoiding her touch. “bIf /byou need assistance, please contact Luke.”
In consideration of past friendships and his brother’s final wishes, Marcelo was willing to offer
protection.
However, he made it clear that any further contact should be through Luke.
Vivian felt as though her heart had plummeted to the ground and shattered.
She bit her lip, looking at Marcelo with a mix of sadness and yearning. But before she could speak, he had already turned and walked away.
Marcelo approached Renee, who seemed on the verge of losing her temper and leaving with a stern
expression.
“Why did youe out?” He casually took her hand, slightly bowed his head to show her his hair, and
asked, “Is there something in my hair?”
“What?” Renee was puzzled by his question.
“Vivian mentioned there was something in my hair.”
Renee instantly realized Vivian’s actions were a deliberate provocation.
“Well, it looked like there was something there,” Renee said, scrutinizing his impably clean hair.
What is it?”
“Oh, my mistake. There’s nothing there after all!b” /b
Marcelo shot her a cold nce. “Really? What are you implying?”
“bIf /byou had let another woman touch you, you might have found yourself in trouble,” Renee retorted, lifting her chin confidently. “Marcelo, you should remember that your wife has many admirers.”
Though Marcelo was irked by her veiled threat, he chose not to show his anger.
”
Instead, he pulled her close, kissing her lips firmly as a form of punishment and warning. His voice was a low murmur, meant only for her ears.
“Renee, if you ever betray me, I’ll…”
His voice trailed off threateningly.

b“/bbI’ll /bmake you regret it and beg for my forgiveness every night on the bed.”
Renee pushed his face away, refusing to engage further in the conversation.
She had once thought Marcelo to be a cold and emotionless man.
Now, she realized that in private, his coarsenguage was no different from any other man’s. “What’s
that in your hand?”
A few stepster, Renee noticed the gift box in Marcelo’s hand.
b“/bIt’s a wedding gift from Vivian.”
Marcelo passed the box to her.
They had received many wedding gifts that day, all of which were being collected by Renee.
She opened the box to find a custom–designed lighter inside.
The silver lighter exuded a subtle yet opulent charm, seemingly crafted just for Marcelo.
Renee mused how unusual it was for someone to present a lighter as a wedding gift.
It was more typical of a girlfriend’s gift to her boyfriend.
“I don’t like this gift,” Renee stated tly, closing the lid of the box without even letting Marcelo take a
look. “I want to return it to her.”
She looked at him, uncertain of how he would react.
Her stubbornness was no secret to Marcelo, yet he seemed puzzled by her current stance.
“Why are you staring?” He chuckled, affectionately tousling her hair. “Aren’t you managing all our gifts
today, Mrs. King? You can return any gift that displeases you.”
“Wait here for me!”
With those words, Renee hurried downstairs, clutching the gift box.
Vivian was still nearby,
Hearing footsteps, she turned around, her face shifting from anticipation to disappointment upon seeing
her.
“Not happy to see me? You were moving so slow that I thought you were waiting for me,” Renee said, dawning a forced smile.
“It’s unusual for you to seek me out, Miss Hudson,” Vivian remarked, her interest waning upon realizing
Marcelo wasn’t with Renee.

“It’s not that unusual. I’de to see you even if there was no specific reason,” Renee retorted, extending the gift box to Vivian. “I’m returning this to you.”
“But this is for Marcelo,” Vivian objected, making no move to ept the box.
“Really? But you said it was a wedding gift. I’m handling all of our wedding gifts,” She countered.
Vivian was perplexed. Why would Renee take issue with a simple gift ito /iMarcelo?
As Vivian’s frustration grew, she asserted,
“I won’t take back a gift I’ve given. I don’t believe you’d dare to discard it!”
Renee responded with a smile, her gaze sweeping the surroundings until she spotted a trash can. She walked over, stretched out her hand, and dropped the gift box into the bin.
Itnded at the bottom of the bin with a thud.
“Renee…How dare you?!”
