Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO
Chapter 188: Do Not Dishonor Your Surname
CHAPTER 188: CHAPTER 188: DO NOT DISHONOR YOUR SURNAME
Gu Qianlan heard her brother actually wanted her to take contraceptive pills, and she shrank to one side: "I won’t take them!"
If she couldn’t get pregnant, then Brother Yin wouldn’t marry her!
Back then, didn’t Yin Yue also get married to Jin Xiu because she was pregnant?
"You have no choice!"
This was said by Liang Huiyun.
She felt dizzy and sat down, her eyes falling on An Junxi, with no reduction in her resentment.
An Junxi said, "Mother, I really didn’t..."
Liang Huiyun interrupted her: "An Junxi, don’t you have any sense of being the eldest sister-in-law? Have you ever cared about the family’s little sister-in-law? The Young Madam the Gu Family wants is not someone like you."
An Junxi knew Liang Huiyun was furious and held back from retorting. Why was she being blamed for this? Gu Qianlan wasn’t her daughter; why should she care so much?
She chose silence, but Gu Yikun would not let his wife be wronged. He said, "This has nothing to do with her. I don’t want to hear such words again."
Liang Huiyun angrily said, "I am her mother-in-law. Can’t I even discipline her a bit?"
Gu Yikun stood up, took An Junxi’s hand, and walked out, "We’ll stay at the villa. You all can continue your drama, but we won’t accompany you!"
Gu Kuangyong said in a deep voice, "Yikun, is this how you treat your parents?"
Liang Huiyun’s fingers were trembling, "For this woman, you even ignore your own sister!"
An Junxi didn’t want to leave like this; otherwise, the rift would be hard to repair in the future.
She tried to pull her hand away from Gu Yikun’s grip and softly advised him: "Yikun, let’s not be impulsive."
Gu Yikun didn’t let go. He said, "When you’ve taught your daughter well, then we’ll talk about this again."
He paused for a moment and then said to Gu Qianlan, "Gu Qianlan, take care of yourself. Don’t disgrace your surname."
After saying that, he took An Junxi without looking back and left the Gu Family Mansion. Their luggage was still in the car. Gu Yikun told the driver, "Go back to the villa."
There were sounds of objects being smashed from the hall, along with Liang Huiyun’s cursing. An Junxi felt cold all over.
She finally saw clearly that she would always be an outsider in this family.
No matter how nice her mother-in-law used to be, she could be turned against her just by a few provocative words from her daughter.
She smiled bitterly. She had thought her mother-in-law was so good to her, but it turned out to be just so-so.
She tightened her grip on Gu Yikun’s hand. Luckily, she still had him.
Gu Yikun comforted her, "It’s okay. We won’t live with my parents anymore."
An Junxi buried her head in his chest, still feeling depressed inside.
Walking out of the Gu Family Mansion like this, it might not be so easy to return in the future, right?
They returned to the villa, where the lights were still on.
The servants cleaned every corner every day, so the place was ready for its owners to live in at any time.
An Junxi stepped into the villa. This was where she had first met Gu Yikun. Now, it seemed so unfamiliar.
Gu Yikun took her upstairs to rest. An Junxi returned to their room, where they had spent their wedding night.
Now, she had to think hard to find something. It had been too long since they last came back.
After taking a bath, she sat on the bed, dazed. Gu Yikun hugged her, "Don’t think too much. Gu Qianlan made her own mistakes; we can’t let others pay for them."
They lay down to sleep. Gu Yikun turned off the lights. An Junxi said in the dark: "Yikun, Mother was really angry today."
Gu Yikun shrugged it off, "No matter how angry, she can’t take it out on you. If I let you be wronged today, it will happen again in the future. I will never allow that." It was a matter of principle.
An Junxi’s face was pressed against his chest. This man truly protected her with all his heart. Even if it meant going against his family, he wouldn’t hesitate.
"Yikun, why are you so good to me?"
"Because you are my wife."
An Junxi intertwined her fingers with his, "Thank you, Yikun."
The next day, Gu Yikun had to go back to work. An Junxi helped him with his tie. He said, "Are you sure you don’t want to come to the company with me?"
An Junxi said, "I want to go see my parents."
"I’ll drop you off. If you go out, make sure to have someone with you."
"Got it," An Junxi reassured him, "When did Mr. Gu become so naggy?"
Gu Yikun pinched her nose, "Complaining about your husband being naggy?"
An Junxi smiled and dodged, "Of course, I’m just going to have a meal with my parents. I won’t run around."
Ever since her accident, Gu Yikun wouldn’t let her out of his sight, overly anxious about her safety.
Gu Yikun said, "I’ll come back for lunch too. Let Mom cook."
An Junxi saw that he didn’t mention visiting the old mansion and didn’t bring up the topic either.
She finished tying his tie, and they went out together.
The driver first drove to the Yuhua Mansion. Gu Yikun left only after seeing her go upstairs.
An Junxi rang the doorbell; Mrs. An opened the door in surprise, "When did you come back? Where’s Yikun?"
An Junxi went in and placed her travel souvenirs on the table, saying, "Yikun went to the company. He was in a hurry, so he didn’t come up. He’ll be here for lunch at noon."
Mrs. An was overjoyed, "I’ll go buy groceries later."
An Junxi noticed that her father wasn’t home, "Where did Dad go so early?"
Mrs. An waved her hand, "Recently, the old folks in the neighborhood formed a South Asia travel group, planning a cruise trip. Your dad got excited and went out early to discuss with them."
An Junxi said, "That’s great! It’s good to go out and see places since there are companions. Mom, I’ll help you sign up."
Mrs. An looked worried, "I’ve never been on a cruise. I don’t know if I’ll get seasick."
An Junxi felt her heart ache. Her parents had never had a chance to enjoy themselves because of her. Now that they could, they should go out and see the world.
When Mr. An returned, An Junxi told her dad about the registration. Mr. An was eager, "I’ve never been out of the country in my life. Let’s sign up."
An Junxi asked, "How many days will it be?"
"About twelve days."
An Junxi said, "Maybe I’ll talk to Yikun and arrange someone to go with you. We’ve had some issues at home recently and can’t leave." Otherwise, she would have liked to accompany her parents.
Mr. An said, "Going with the neighborhood folks is fine. It’s more fun that way. No need to arrange anyone else."
Mrs. An asked her, "What happened at home?"
Family scandals shouldn’t be publicized. Even to her parents, An Junxi didn’t spill the beans. This was still Gu Qianlan’s privacy.
She said, "Seventh Uncle is not doing well." She didn’t mention that they had already moved out of the old mansion.
Mrs. An empathized, "As people get older, their bodies can’t keep up. It’s good to go out while you can still move around."
